He shouldn’t be here. Reaper used to have a life, and friends, and a close-knit Pack. He was Stryker. Even if he was a War Wolf, his life made sense. When he died, something evil needed him to cheat death. A powerful storm is building around him, because Reaper has been brought back to life for a nightmare destiny. He’s been controlled by an underserving Alpha before, and he is done being a pawn in the game of good and evil. From here on, Reaper will do whatever he wants.
Isa Moreau is his only anchor. She is the only one who can save Reaper’s new Pack from him. She is the only one who can save Reaper from himself, but Fate sure is hard to fight, and especially for a she-wolf who is dropped in the middle of a battle she didn’t know existed. She’s learning that there are two sides to the Zombie Wolf of Piston… One with the capacity to learn love, and one with the ability to destroy everything. Reaper must choose between good and evil, once and for all, and he must protect a Pack that betrayed him to do it.
Witches, werewolves, and ghosts are pulling the Zombie Wolf in different directions, and no one really knows where he will land. Will he be a good Zombie Wolf? Or the Zombie Wolf everyone loves to hate?
Don’t miss T. S. Joyce’s highly anticipated first book in the brand-new Wolves of Piston series. No grave can hold these wolves down…
Content Warning: love scenes, naughty language, and piles of shifter secrets. This series is establishing territory lines for a new Pack. If you aren’t up for wolf fights, this won’t be your jam, but if you’re up for action-adventure love stories with a side of werewolf growly-growly-fight-fights, this one’s for you.
T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.
Bear Shifters? Check Smoldering Alpha Hotness? Double Check Sexy Scenes? Fasten up your girdles, ladies and gents, it's gonna to be a wild ride.
I figure since the description says it all, nothing I post here is a spoiler. I was excited about this book before I even knew this book would or even could exist. I couldn't help caring for Stryker when we first met him in The Wolves of Promise Falls series. I cried and I mourned when everyone cried and mourned. I was just as ecstatic when Stryker turned back up in his unconventional way. I loved meeting Reaper born again Alpha, being able to finally see everything from his P.O.V. This really shows us that everything that happens to us helps to form the person we are today, whether we like it or not, we are influenced by those around us. Isa wasn't what I was expecting at first. I love that she works for herself and isn't easily influenced. She is definitely Reaper's opposite, an extrovert to his introvert. She lived her life the best way she thought.
"Emotional constipation" I'm stealing this hahaha. There were so many times this book caught me off guard and I couldn't help laughing. I loved that anytime I had a question about Reaper or Isa, I just kept reading and the answer was there. I normally read via Kindle Unlimited and then purchase if I really loved a book, but my queue was full and I knew this book needed to skip the line and was immediately purchased. I'm currently writing this review at 4am, thanks for the lack of sleep. I can't wait for the next book in the series, I know it won't disappoint.
I feel like this one was a long time coming. Reaper/Stryker isn't the same person as before, he haunted and in a very odd way. His pack has an odd sort of plan to deal with him. I felt bad for Isa, but she made the best out of things. Viewed things as a vacation, just talked to Reaper/Stryker, treated him like any other person would, which is something most people haven't been doing.
I really liked how things evolved for these 2. They build a friendship, one where both yearned for more, but couldn't admit to each other, let alone themselves.
Of course the past had to come bit Reaper/Stryker in the butt, but he made 2 great phone calls that helped him deal with things on 2 different levels, both of which helped immensely.
I really liked how this one ended, liked that there is a big change coming to this pack and to Reaper/Stryker and Isa.
Not sure if I read these books in the correct order. Stryker was in the last book of a different series and I loved his character. Not sure if he became a zombie before or after that. But, I still like this book.
I know this is supposed to be Reaper's book, but Vaughn is really prominent in those first few chapters, and I loved him. I need his book, stat! In this book we get to find out how Stryker became Reaper, and how he's holding up. I mean, he's not. Stryker is very much gone, and Reaper is haunted by his past Alpha and has given up on everything. Isa is a sweet little ray of sunshine, and not trying for romance. But somehow the both of them just... fit. I loved this book. If was fun watching Reaper slowly come back to himself, while fighting with ghosts and basically being a jerk. But in an amusing way. Vander's story is up next.
Zombie Wolf of Piston is the story I’ve been waiting for and it was fantastic❣️Reaper is in a town with a Pack he doesn’t want, in order to protect his old clan from another war. When his “second” engages with Isa and asks her to find a mate for Reaper, she travels to their town to meet with him and find out if she can help him. But it soon becomes clear there is more to this man and she wants to find out what makes him so special and different😳
I’m excited to get to know more of the new characters in Reaper’s Pack❤️
Ahhh TS Joyce books are comfort reads and Zombie wolf did not disappoint. This was a great start to a new series and can't wait for the rest of the pack to find mates.
This book!!! Where to start... I have been reading Ts books for years but these last few books have really taken on a new depth and character development that I could not be more in love with.
The Zombie Wolf's world comes to life as only T can make it. I loved the twists and turns this book took while our boy had to figure things out. He had so much power and chaos around him, but he needed little Isa Moreau to ground him.
The future for this series has me so excited. I cannot wait to see more of Stryker, Isa and our Promise Falls pack as we get to know this new crew.
So many highlights in this book. But the two below had me snorting. We all have a limits. Haha
Stryker didn’t stay dead. A witch brought him back with all the evil that once lived in Nathaniel whose ghost encourages Stryker (who now calls himself Reaper) to do evil deeds. Reaper doesn’t want to be alpha but he is. When he killed Piston pack’s alpha for trying to destroy the Stryker pack for Nathaniel’s evil deeds and orders, he got wolves he didn’t want.
Half the pack left over Reaper’s indifference and fearsome powers he brought from the grave while the remaining wolves think a female is the answer and beg successful shifter dating site owner Isa Moreau, to at least try to find Reaper a mate. Isa doesn’t think she has a client for Reaper but enjoys him herself. Meanwhile, the bear shifters want revenge for Reaper’s as feelings develop between Reaper and Isa. Rating: 4.25stars
Wow, outstanding series links to the crew at Promise Falls. The h is very kind and the H is so not. But she is the key to the change he needs to escape from his terrible past. I am in awe of this writer, who keeps finding new ways to reveal the balance of connection and brutality for shifters. Her imagination is outstanding, wonderful characters and plots making purchases mandatory for me.
Stryker's story is so heartbreaking but was also so very redeeming. There's a lot going on in this new pack so I don't want to spoil any of it, other than to say go read it!
I’ve been reading T.S. Joyce’s worlds for several years now and loving every single one. But, Zombie Wolf, gutted me in a way I didn’t expect. The pain that Reaper/Stryker is in both physically and emotionally just flowed off of the page into my heart and left me wounded for this man and what he’s been put through. I don’t even have words to describe my reaction to the beginning of his story.
I feel that I don’t want to say a lot about the plot of Zombie Wolf which begins the Wolves of Piston series. Why? Well, because frankly, I believe you need to go into this one cold to get the full impact of the emotional anguish that Reaper is going through firsthand. A lot of what I’d like to say right now would spoil that experience for you.
I can say that I adored Isa, she is a breath of fresh air and exactly what this wolf needs at this moment in time – a mate to stand beside him, fight for him, lead him into a future that is worth living with a pack that can be redeemed if only he’d step up and lead. The villain here is a bit unusual but probably the vilest villain I’ve encountered in quite a while, and that’s saying something! I loved the pack members we get to meet, some more than others but can’t wait for their individual stories to unfold.
I realize this review is somewhat vague, but Zombie Wolf is a powerful story on so many levels and you should feel everything for yourself. I loved the beginning of the Wolves of Piston, this couple is intense, funny, sassy, tormented, sexy, and perfect for each other… eventually. I had an emotional blast with Stryker and Isa in so many ways and would not hesitate to recommend this one to any reader who loves a good, well-written, engaging Shifter Romance with surprises galore.
The Wolves of Piston series begins right after the end of The Wolves of Promise Falls series. To get the full impact of this world I’d suggest starting with the Promise Falls series first. But that’s just a suggestion, you do what you need to do… you could start here with no trouble at all, but I, personally, believe you’ll be more immersed in the nuances of this world if you can go back to the previous series (plus they are amazing stories as well).
Notes, can contain spoilers... but it's only notes for about the first half of the book.
“How was it?” Vaughn asked conversationally. (Conversationally?)
Once upon a time, he’d probably been a handsome man. (She has seen pictures of him from before he died, so this is a stupid thing to think.)
and her painted nails, (I have never met a single man saying he thinks painted nails are attractive.)
God, she wished she had his number so she could call him and just see where his head was at. Or text him, at the very least. The unknown caller stuff made it impossible for her to save his number. (Okay I will guide you. You go in under messages, then scroll until you find the old messages from when you texted him last and then send him a message.... so easy..)
“I can’t remember half of my life, (but when he talks about Nathaniel he seems to remember his past perfectly and he went to see his old pack in the beginning of the story.)
He told her the memories of when he was a kid, and how he’d joined Nathaniel’s Pack young, and had seen him like a big brother figure for many years. And as he unraveled the layers of damage done to him, she understood him more and more. (Oh!! So he remembered everything!)
He’d been headed in the opposite direction to track down Vaughn at his job. (That's stupid, he would definitely not stay there after blocking Reaper from his phone.)
“The bear Clan is coming for the Stryker Pack again. (Again? Here he is implying he knew it happened before, like he do remember. Again!)
She gave a small, private smile (private? It's the first time I have heard of a "private" smile.)
He peeled her panties down her legs (weren't they shredded from her shift? She lend his t-shirt because of it, remember?)
She’d never done this with a man, and never would’ve thought she would enjoy it, but with Reaper, every single thing was different. (Never done this with a man? So she have done it with a woman? And wasn't she mated before?)
Lick…lick…lick…and - Bite, kiss, bite, kiss…blow… (This doesn't work very well... it's not romantic, it's not sexy, it's somehow becomes cringe and disgusting...)
“I met a man when I was in Gunnison.” “Gasp!” Shae Lynn’s eyes went wide and she scooted her chair closer. (She would not wait a fucking month to tell her friend about Reaper!!!!)
This is the first book in a new series by T.S. Joyce. It is connected to her last series The Wolves of Promise Falls. But you don’t have to read it if you don’t want to. Stryker or Reaper as he is now known has taken over the Piston Pack to stop them from attacking his friends in the Stryker Pack. He doesn’t want this pack and he doesn’t know how to be an alpha to them. He is still trying to figure out who his is himself. What is left of his pack has contacted Isa to see if she can find a match for him. Things don’t go as planned though. Isa would never match Reaper to anyone in her service. But Isa and Reaper have a connection that no one could have predicted. But there is more going on then anyone knows. Reaper is also being haunted by the ghost of his old alpha. This book was a fantastic read. I loved finally getting to read about Stryker. Isa as his match was a fun twist. He helps her as much as she helps him. I can’t get enough of T.S. Joyce’s books. I look forward to reading about the other guys in this pack.
This continues after another series . He was dead then a witch gave him life again on the orders of his evil dead alpha (she is still a mystery) not the same as he was he couldn't go back to his pack he took over a enemy's pack when they came after his old pack mates now the alpha and his pack fears him he is good at heart all he cares about his his old pack some memorys are lost but he is still good but angry with his pack, they are sacred of him and his powers, but one sends for isa a matchmaker wolf to help find the alpha a mate, only he doesn't know. She meets him and agreed to not set him up but there is something between them? But reaper still has enemy's coming after him.one only he can see. I love this author and these series are great this is a spin spin spin off lost how many they really should just add series numbers to so you know where to start. There was bears then crows a Dragon once to some mix honestly they all link to.This series is the latest.
Overall this was a well written easy to follow good start to a new series! I loved the swoon worthy moments we got to see between Reaper and Isa they were light and fun with just a dash of gruffness ( on Reapers part) hehehe 🤭. With all of T.S Joyce’s books I love the witty banter that comes with her character and Zombie wolf did not disappoint!
I would consider this book a SlowBurn. It concentrates more of the main character learning each other trying to understand what needs to be fixed/healed within Reaper (Zombie wolf). But I will say that the spicy scene that did happen was pretty steamy 🥰 Reaper is definitely all Alpha and he’s just swoon worthy in my opinion!!
If your into Paranormal, Fated Mates, Growly Alpha’s, protective, and low angst, Dual POV this is definitely a must read!!
I love T.S.Joyce books to begin with, she is an author who keeps my interest from the first page and carries it through the end with minimal lulls. I'll be upfront I'm not a zombie fan unless it's a movie like Zombieland, it's a genre that really doesn't have much appeal. However I was rooting for Zombie Wolf since we found out he was back from the dead the last series. I was wonderfully surprised and thought the heroine fit him perfectly. I stayed up well past my bedtime to seehow his story ended. I look forward to reading the next Piston pack book even though atthe beginning of the book I was totally team Nuke(the dragon) burning them all. I really hope we get to see more cross over with Striker Pack as we discover Piston pack members redemption stories, maybe in the form of a new years special shindig. Keep up the phenomenal writing!
OMG I love Stryker/Reapers story! T.S. Joyce has done it again how she can whip up these great stories I have no idea, what an imagination! And I thank the higher powers that be for it.
Stryker is brought back from the grave by a witch by request of his previous dead Alpha Nathaniel in the hopes of finding eternal life. What Nathaniel ghost hadn't counted on was Reaper as he is now known, being smarter than him, or that Isa meant more to Reaper than he thought. Not too smart ghost lol big surprises await Nathaniel ghost.
Matchmaker Isa Mareu was hired by Reaper's second in the hopes she would find him a woman, not that any woman would want a zombie wolf, but one could hope right? Isa wasn't counting on finding Reaper interesting, but she did, and it so happens that Reaper found her interesting too because she wasn't afraid of him and, everybody was afraid of zombie wolf.
No hot passion, but for one scene, but it's not needed in this very surprising, and touching story.
I fell in love with Reaper when he first appeared in a previous book and couldn't wait to read his story. Vaughn reaches out to Isa and her matchmaking business in the hope of finding a mate for Reaper. Reaper was once known as Stryker until the day he died fighting when his pack was attacked and was brought back to life by a witch. One side is horribly scarred and gray while the other side looks like his old self. The new version is called Zombie Wolf and has developed incredible powers that can destroy and kill. Of course he isn't interested in her matchmaking skills but when Isa decides to stick around for a vacation Reaper is drawn to her. In true TS Joyce fashion their story is full of emotion with moments of humor. I loved every word and couldn't stop reading until I finished the book.
“Hey, you can be half-dead, and a little crazy, and have magical powers and all, but your questionable taste in candy is where I draw the line.”
TS Joyce has a genuine joy in her writing, and it shows through her eclectic characters, all who need their own form of love.
What is most exciting about reading Zombie Wolf of Piston, the first book in her new Wolves of Piston series, is that we have met Stryker/Reaper in her last series. We are already invested in his well being.
Getting to meet Isa, and watch two souls who are struggling, watch two shifters who don’t fit into a pack, and watch two personalities that finally have the chance to find a form of freedom with another, was the best part of this book.
What makes me feel alive and happy and excited? It is knowing there are more of these beautiful, quirky, funny, heart-wrenching, and heartwarming stories to come in this series!
Zombie Wolf of Piston (Wolves of Piston book 1) by TS Joyce is a 5 ⭐️ read. Reaper as he’s now known used to be Stryker until he was killed in a fight against other wolves but a witch brings him back to life and leaves him haunted by his previous Alpha, someone who forced him and the rest of his pack into wars they had no part of, but now he’s the Alpha and he’s only staying that so he can protect his old pack. Isa Moreau is a matchmaker for shifters, she used to be in love and had hoped for a future with her mate but he rejected her so now she wants to help others find happiness even though she can’t, the last thing she expected was to be hired to find a mate for the Zombie wolf but as she gets to know him she sees not all is as it seems.
Good story. Interesting mix of old and new elements. Loved the connection between Reaper/Stryker and Isa. Also loved that she was a bit "older", already successful and with some live experience under her belt (I don't remember his age ever being mentioned) and not just another 20-something, broke and down-on-her-luck-still-hoping-to-find-herself-damsel... The only disappointing bit was that their romance bits towards the end, you know, the shift from friends to something more and all that felt very rushed. So much so that I was starting to wonder whether it (the romance part of their story) would become a second book for the two of them. Still.. it's gonna be fun to see what sounds like some very familiar old trailers again ;)
Reaper is a bit more monster than most of Joyce's male characters. He died and was resurrected by a witch. His resurrection gave him strange powers, and his body never recovered from the trauma of his death.
Isa is missing survival instincts and is interested straight away, even though her last relationship didn't work out.
There is a battle, but the conflict is mostly inside the relationship: two people who both think they're incapable of loving someone finding out they do. The love is a bit slower burn than usual, so there is only one sex scene.
Wolves of Piston book 1. I absolutely loved this book. Stryker aka Reaper aka Zombie Wolf originated in the previous series Promise Falls. He died in battle and was brought back from the dead by his old dead alpha for evil doings. He is also the alpha of a pack he doesn't want. This pack calls in a matchmaker to distract him. In comes Isa the matchmaker who has her own messy past. As they fall for each there is some betrayal, cray cray bears and a terrible ghost. Isa is his match and they don't understand but it is oh so tingle worthy yummy goodness. Banter that takes you there, dramatic, hella angsty, twisty and smexiness.
Reaper aka Stryker is brought back to life thanks to his evil former alpha. He's come back with power like none other.
Isa is hired by his pack member because they believe Reaper finding a mate will calm him down. Things certainly turn out totally mixed up yet just the way they should be!
I loved Ms. Joyce's creativity especially literally bringing these characters to life. As always the story is full of emotions, angst and developing love.
this book was amazing! it was so nice getting Striker's story! watching the tough journey he went through from how he got to where he was at the beginning to the ending of this was just awesome. you can't go wrong by purchasing any of TS Joyce's books. her series flow from beginning book all the way to the end and a new series just continues that wonderful journey. I'm hooked... what can I say and I cannot wait for the second book in this series!
Oh my lord- zombie Wolf is absolutely amazing! The heart of our Alpha is ready for opening and even if he doesn’t know truly who he is- Isa is about to help him figure it out!
This story was a slow burn but quick “emotions” story that will make you want to reach in and hug and love on these characters that really need love!
Wolves of Piston series is going to make is going on the emotional roller coaster ride Alpha/Author T always takes us on! We get the heart, heat and humor that is truly a great way to spend some time!
3.5 Stars - Reaper (Stryker) will grab at your heart! His journey has been extremely difficult and gut wrenching. If you have followed the previous series, this story will mean even more to you. There is more to tge Zombie Wolf. I wanted to give this a higher rating, but because of the ending I could not. I needed to witness his reaction with Isa's decisions. It needed a little more for me, but this definitely is a good start. I am hoping the next story will end a little more complete.
