3.5 stars rounded up. The author is new to me but, given that this is her first attempt in a new genre (one that happens to be one of my favorites), this is actually pretty good.
I had a little bit of trouble connecting the dots as to why L.P. was more or less corporeal to the point of being able to drive a car, but he was not able to be seen by others. In my mind, the former would require more magic, I guess, than the other, especially when it comes to another family member. I may be overthinking as it's not a major plot point, but it struck me as a bit odd in the few instances it came up.
As is my standard observation as an editor, there were a few times where the brother was called Kevin and not Kelvin. It's a minor consistency error, but something to look out for in the future.
Overall, this was a sweet, quick read that is great for spooky season. I do plan on reading the next book.
