The bad boy brother. The by-the-books detective. A random meeting that will change their lives.
Miles Bridger would rather be home in New York than stuck on a Montana ranch with his newfound half brothers, thanks to his deadbeat dad's will. Miles now works with bulls and hay bales instead of custom bikes. He keeps his sense of humor about the whole thing…until a dead body surfaces on the ranch and he and his brothers are thrown headfirst into a murder investigation.
Sadie Hopkins plays by the rules in her job as detective, so she's only too happy to turn a little naughty during a bachelorette party dare. Heat flares between Sadie and the gorgeous blond man she approaches, but when a high-profile case crosses her desk the next day, she's in for a surprise. The man from the bar is none other than Miles Bridger…and he's a murder suspect.
Despite this revelation, Miles and Sadie's chemistry sizzles. But the flawed Miles doesn't do relationships, and Sadie's past crashes into the present with a surprising discovery that could spell danger for both of them.
#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.
Absolutely loved this second book in the Billion Heirs series by Vanessa Vale and Helen Hardt. Flawed is a fantastic read with some wonderful romantic suspense elements and super hot smexy. Sadie and Miles are great! There was really nothing I didn't like; OTT j/p alpha hero who's quickly all in, super strong, but still vulnerable heroine, and a continuing storyline that completely is holding my interest. This is definitely my favorite of the series so far, but I really looking forward to Chance's book with the little breadcrumbs given to us in the epilogue. Can't wait!
The story is the second in the new The Billion Heirs trilogy and involves three half-brothers, Austin, Miles, and Chance Bridger. The only thing these three really have in common is their sperm donor, Jonathan Bridger, who has died. He leaves a will with stipulations, all three of his sons must live together and work the land in Bayfield, Montana, for one year to inherit the billions left to them.
The story’s plot will have plenty of issues caused by the dead body found on Bridger land. Now, they are all under investigation. Miles decides he needs a break, takes a motorcycle he recently purchased, and rides to the next town. What a shock when the woman he has noticed comes up to him and tells him she must give him her panties—and what is Miles willing to give her? The next morning, when two detectives show back up at the ranch, one just happens to be the girl from the bar.
The chemistry between Miles and Sadie Hopkins isn’t hampered by her occupation or the fact that the Bridgers are under investigation. Sadie isn’t buying into what her partner, Detective Peterson, tries to insinuate. It won’t be long before they identify the body—and clear both Austin and Miles—but what about Chance or his father, Jonathan?
The story has plenty of mystery, suspense, and angst, along with shock and awe. It is hard to know whom to believe, who can be trusted, and what will happen next. Good, bad, and ugly all happen in this tale. Even Miles and Sadie will have issues—has a past hookup going to derail what they have started?
Jake: Man troubles? Sadie: How can you tell? Jake: I’ve had them before myself. I know the look. Sadie: Let’s just say I thought I caught a good one, but I had to set him free.
This story isn’t over—even knowing who the body in the water was, too many things are left unanswered. Jonathan Bridger is still causing problems after his death. While Sadie and Miles can patch things up and declare their feelings, there is more to the investigations.
Chance can’t believe his two half-brothers come to Bayfield and find love. He had decided that it is never coming his way—not since his senior year in high school when the one girl he loved left and moved away. What are the chances of ever finding that again? Maybe fate is coming his way too—in Broken, out January 17, 2023.

Thank you Helen Hardt, Vanessa Vale and Valentine PR for gifting me an ARC of this book.
🇺🇸: I loved this book! Miles and Sadie gave everything I expected of them and although (as they say several times) the relationship happened too quickly, I loved the development of it. Sadie's background really made me sad and I completely hated her dad's character. I love how the book explores the brothers' relationship and how, from book to book, they start to behave more and more like family. And the mystery surrounding the series? Oh my God, I really didn't expect this development and I'm even more excited to know what happens next. The next one is going to be about my favorite brother and a second chance???? Sign me in!!!!
Sign me in!!!!
There is nothing Flawed about this story, it is another immersive, hot, suspense mystery, as once again these authors take us on a fully grown-up romance, with strong characters and an equally strong storyline, if you like your romances with depth and edge then Flawed the second book in The Billion Heirs is the one for you, even though not a requirement I would read Scarred first.
Three men, three different moms and one father who they wished they could pretend never existed, but even in death he is pulling their strings, if they want their inheritance they all have to live together on the Bridger Farm, and put their lives on hold for one year, should be easy right, but not when your ranch is in a town where the people hate you and a dead body turns up, Miles rides his motor bike to keep it together in a near impossible situation when he meets Detective Sadie Hopkins one night the attraction is instant and hot, Sadie is also dealing with her own family drama and trying to find out what has happened to her brother, but as the suspense grows so does the chemistry.
A nail-biting ending, and I am so excited for what is next. who is trying to unravel her own
This series gets better and better with each new story. The investigation of the body found seems to be growing and getting more and more interesting. I could not put this book down. Wanting and needing to know who done it and why. New characters being introuced and all somehow involved and connected to this investigation. Instant attraction between Sadie and Miles. Love at first sight to be more exact. Some might even say fate especially with how this story is going along. Once I started reading I never wanted to stop. Anxiously awaiting the next and final book to answer the questions I had while reading the first two books of the series. Another amazing read by two equally amazing authors.
Yea it’s Miles book! He and Sadie meet in a very different way but it sure is hot. They are made for each other. The book grabs you from the first page to the very last one. Then you want it to keep going! This series keeps getting better and better. You can’t go wrong reading this book when written by TWO great authors! Vanessa Vale and Helen Hardt have done it again!
I was so intrigued how these two authors styles would intersect, and with a cover that felt outside of the box for them both, I was thirsty to dive in. Vanessa's erotic swoon paired with Helen's weaving of trauma and tension paired together perfect. Both authors brought their flair for drama and twists, and this fast paced read sucked me right in. The characters are interesting, the family dynamic compelling, and the setting unexpected. This is a page turner with the right amount of drama, steam, and emotion. I loved seeing this newly created family come together, and the chemistry aplenty. These Billion Heirs are certainly captivating, and I'm super excited for more of this series!
Miles and Sadie have a lot working against them. For starters, they may be on opposite sides of this fight. Then there’s the text. And the possibility of drama with another. And the fact that Sadie’s got a connection to the case…one that was definitely not expected. And then there’s her partner/boss, who has an obsession with sticking it to the Bridgers. It’s just too bad he couldn’t let his hatred for dear dead dad end with that dirty guy. But maybe something good can come of all of this in the end. Like maybe love?
We learn more about each brother as we go, and Miles is absolutely more than I’d hoped for. Yeah, I’d hoped for a lot, but knowing just how good a guy he is makes me want good and happy times for him and Sadie. And Sadie is tough, but she needs someone in her corner now also. She just didn’t expect to have Miles AND his brothers lunge to have her back when she desperately needs it. So she and Miles will bring exactly what this series needs. They’ve got heat and chemistry. They’ve got mystery and a bit of danger. And they’ve definitely got communication going for them. So much so that they avoid some stupid pitfalls and also make it through the mess someone close(ish) to Sadie brings in a thoroughly unpleasant manner.
Next up is Chance, and I’m 100% here to find out whodunnit, why, and whether or not he’s got true happiness in his future also!

I'm really loving this series by this dream team with the three brothers with the same father & different mothers who have never met until said father dies, and now they're all on a ranch in Montana together. Flawed puts Miles Bridger front & center, and boy he was a trip. He & his other brothers are going through it after a body turns up on the ranch, and they are suspects to boot. Our heroine is a straight-laced detective who follows the rules (but can let her hair down), and when she comes to the ranch to investigate, she & Miles realize that they've met very recently. Let me tell you, these two are hot together but he is allergic to relationships, and things take a turn in Sadie's life when her past comes back to bite her in the behind. There are twists coming in hot, and I still have more questions than answers on that front, but there's also the angst levels that messed with my heart but luckily, these two are adults so maybe just maybe they can get through it together but I'll never tell. I CANNOT WAIT for the final brother's book as I'm counting on all the answers so yeah, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I had the impression that I was reading a story about two teenagers. This story appeals to me much more than Carly and Austin's, but only to a certain extent. Although there were plenty of hot and push-pull moments, we could have done better altogether. You know, after hearing Sadie talk about how she believed her brother had likely passed away by this point, I assumed the body that had been discovered on the property belonged to him. It was so obvious when that hint was dropped. I believe that the mystery portion of the story needed to be emphasized because we wanted to build tension, and the story didn't accomplish that at all.
I am going to give this a 3 ✨ because it was good but not good at the same time.

I really enjoyed Miles and Sadie's story. Miles is in town so his fathers last wishes if he wants to get his inheritance and even though he doesn’t want to be there he knows he has for the foreseeable future and one thing he never anticipated was meeting Sadie and finally meeting someone he wants longer then a night but so much bad things are surrounded around them but they aren’t willing to let it break them, even it’s impossible not to
'Flawed is book two in Helen Hardt and Vanessa Vale's "The Billion Heirs" series. If you read 'Scarred', book one, then you'll remember the hell and hoops Austin and Carly went through to get to their happy-for-now ending. But don't forget, there were still open investigations against their dead father and now, his sons. Miles has had all he can take. He's tried to keep his sense of humor through all the bs until the local Detective Peterson starts implying they're guilty of murder without even investigating the facts. Riding his motorcycle in New York is how he would clear his head and thankfully he just bought one to fix yesterday. Deciding that’s exactly what he needs, he finds himself an hour away from the ranch at a local bar. Sadie was promoted to detective one year after she joined the force and transferred to Bayfield, Montana. She follows the straight and narrow, for the most part, but tonight is her best friend's bachelorette party at the bar she works at. Even though Sadie is the designated driver she intends to have fun and let her hair down. It was just a fun, sexy dare. That's all it was supposed to be. But when Miles and Sadie's eyes met there was a chemistry that burned between them, even across the room. Just like book one, this is a fast-paced storyline with characters that kept me engaged throughout the entire book. This couple had more obstacles thrown in their path than anyone truthfully deserved and yet they still got happy for now even though the investigations are still looming. I can't wait to read Chance's story since he hasn't filled in any of the blanks yet.
after reading the first book in this series (scarred) last month, i was really excited to read this one because miles was my favorite brother.
one of the main reasons why this didn’t get a higher rating from me is because it felt a tad bit too insta-lovey for my liking (even more so than the first book). despite that, i still really enjoyed miles and sadie as characters, both individually and together.
we also got to see the murder case from the end of the first book get taken further, and i can’t to read the final book in the series and find out who did it! (and also see chance’s love story of course.)
*thank you to valentine pr and vanessa vale & helen hardt for sending me a copy of this ARC in exchange fir an honest review!
Vanessa Vale and Helen Hardt have brought mystery, suspense, betrayal, drama, a possessive alpha, a strong woman, and plenty of sexual tension and heat to FLAWED, the second book in The Billion Heirs trilogy. Miles Bridger and Sadie Hopkins have a story that is more entwined than I expected, and one that I couldn't put down.
"The second our eyes connected ... the ridiculous chemistry between us was insane."
Miles is the second of two sons abandoned by Jonathan Bridger prior to his birth. Now, he's living and working on the Bridger Ranch for the next year to claim his portion of an inheritance his father left him. It has also brought Miles together with his two brothers, Austin and Chance. Jonathan's death has raised a lot of problems for the brothers, and it is just beginning to catch up with them and Miles has had enough. He needs to get out and clear his head, a ride on his bike leads him to a local bar, where he becomes entranced by a woman who is there with her friends. The moment their eyes meet there is an instant draw, when the woman approaches him it's obvious there is an instant chemistry between them and it's HOT!! Sadie Hopkins is a woman Miles will never forget and forever want.
"All I want to do is take care of this woman. Run her a hot bath and wash her beautiful skin."
A body found on the ranch leads to a visit by two detectives, one of which is Sadie. Once again the chemistry and attraction between Miles and Sadie is instantaneous, causing a complication and a conflict of interest neither expected. How will they be able to keep the heat between them hidden, because you just know that Miles won't be able to keep his hands to himself. Miles and Sadie simply sizzle when they are in close proximity. As well as coping with the intensity of their desires, they are trying to solve the mystery of the dead body. I adored Miles, he fell hard and fast for Sadie even though he was wary of committed relationships because of family history, he was protective of her and fell for her deeply, surprising himself. Sadie was divine, a strong woman who wasn't afraid to openly speak her mind or show her feelings. It was fated they were meant to be together.
"He's such a gentleman. He's such... He's everything. Miles Bridger is simply everything."
There are several twists and turns woven throughout FLAWED that had my jaw dropping and sitting on the edge of my seat. As the relationship between Miles and Sadie deepens, so does the mystery and drama surrounding the identity of the dead body, and how it came to be on the ranch. Connections are discovered that also put more lives in danger and need more questions answered. Then, once the dust has settled, a huge cliffhanger is thrown into the mix, one that has me waiting impatiently for Broken, Chance Bridger's story.
FLAWED is a passionate story, entwined with mystery and drama, a definite MUST READ.
Book 2 of The Billion Heirs character series. Each book follows a different set of characters and can be read as a stand-alone but to get the most of the story it is suggested to read the books in order.
Miles has moved to Montana after his absentee fathers passing. Working on the family ranch for a year is the only way he can claim his percentage of the inheritance to be split with his two brothers. On top of that, now a dead body has been found on their land and Miles and his brothers are prime suspects.
Miles has always been the love them and leave them type, never bedding a woman more than once. They know the score going in and no ones feelings get hurt. However the woman trying to give him her panties at the bar is a completely different story.
After Sadie's impromptu party dare, she figures she will never see Miles again. But that's not exactly the case when she shows up at the Bridger Ranch house and none other than Miles is in the driveway. Their chemistry is just as palpable as it was in the bar the night before...but will that attraction effect her job?
Well who knew Miles Bridger would find his forever lady?! This was a great continuation for the Bridger brothers. I really enjoyed Miles and Sadie's story. This was a quick and easy read for me and kept my attention. There's enough suspense to keep you guessing. Miles and Sadie had a little of a rough start but even with the multiple unfortunate events to go through, they had an instant connection that neither was willing to let go of. We definitely get some answers to things we questioned from Scarred. We now know the identity of the body found and the speculations they have for the reason behind the fatality... but we are still left with the how and the actual truth of why. I look forward to seeing the outcome of this trilogy and Chance's opportunity at a second chance love. After watching his brothers fall instantly head over heels for their women.. he deserves his chance at love and a clear name.
Thank you to Valentine, Helen and Vanessa for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.
This is the 2nd book in the Billion heirs series.
In this we follow the story of Miles Bridger the burly New yorker and Sadie Hopkins the young and talented detective.
Miles is one of the brothers who came onto the ranch because of his estranged fathers will. He is a burley New yorker who's mother preferred finding her next husband than giving her son the affection he needed but this doesn't stop miles.
In New York he was a one-night kind of man and made that very clear to those he slept with so when he takes a drive to clear his mind and lands in a bar to find a beautiful temptress on a bachelorette party offering him her knickers. he didnt expect the impact it would have on him.
Sadie is a rising detective; she became detective within a year of leaving the academy and joined the police force after her brother disappeared. She wanted to know more and new she had good instincts. she doesn't suspect that the man she gave her knickers to would be the man she is currently investigating even though she knows he isn't involved.
Neither of these two were prepared for their past and present to combine in spectacular ways or for them to fall so deeply in love with each other so quickly.
I enjoyed reading this book it was good my only critique is how fast everything moved it literally happened within days which made it feel less life like, whereas Austin and Carly's love was quick it didnt feel as quick as this one. Miles is strong character but occasionally came off too soft for the man i read about in the first book but truthfully i did enjoy the read and I cannot wait to find out how Chance's love stroy unfolds.
My Overall Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋 My Character Rating is 3 ❤️❤️❤️ My Smut Rating is 2 🍆🍆 My Angst rating is 2 😬😬
DNF 78% I tried, I really did. This is such a shame I really like Helen Hart's books. Now yes there were a few books I wasn't really thrilled with like her follow me series. She has a tendency to write her female characters badly. I liked the first book I gave it three stars but this one I just couldn't finish. If I read "My woman" one more time I was about ready to throw my Kindle across the room. So first of all once again her female character is not very good and for a cop that's really sad. It's one of the reasons I don't read romance books where the females are either a cop, a FBI agent, or a reporter. Authors just don't know how to write women characters in roles like that. They either make them too stupid to live or over aggressive almost butch-like. But with Sadie she just seemed weak with no backbone. She let Miles do everything for her. Their initial fight because of another woman faking a pregnancy could have been solved but just a simple conversation but instead they both got mad at each other and stomped off. She wasn't a very strong character and you sex to get over the loss of her brother. Yes, I know everybody grieves differently but come on! It seems like every other page she and miles are having sex so she can forget the death of her brother. I know when I lost a loved one I wasn't looking to jump in the bed 50 times a day. Miles reminded me of another one of her male characters Rock and Talon. The broody, motorcycle riding, I have secrets but I'm not going to tell you yet kinda guy. I can't remember if he ever told Sadie about his mom. I think he did but didn't get into detail with her about it. Unfortunately I will not be finishing this series. I have her book Blush online to be read list and I really hope it's better than this book otherwise it's time for me to take a break from her.

2.5 stars. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but from my calculations only 10 days have passed in this entire series. Maybe 11. I know a billion dollars is nice and all, but if I was dealing with this much bullhonky I wouldn’t put up with it even for a cool billion. Also none of my questions were answered, all I have is more questions. So many things were dropped and then never picked up. I also don’t know if it’s my copy (I got the box set from Kobo Plus), but there are so many grammar, spelling, and continuity errors in this book. Way more than the first. One chapter they had Rainey as Laney but then two sentences later it was Rainey again. There was “five” used instead of “give” and missing letters in words. But I am desperate to know who actually killed the person on the property so I must read Chance’s book. One big big big question that I need to know the answer to and I hope it gets resolved in the next book (but I doubt it), but why on God’s green earth did Rainey have a gun? Why did she point a gun at Curt and then give it to him for him to then point at Sadie? Rainey has nothing to do with this. What is happening?? SO MANY QUESTIONS GUYS. I believe firmly in not giving bad ratings because I don’t like the tropes, that isn’t what this is. I actually really like the tropes in this book; what I don’t like is that this was set up so good but seemed so so rushed and fell short of all my expectations. I really hope that Chance’s book picks up all the loose ends in the first two books and ties them together because I’m still confused as to why they dropped the fact that Jonathan Bridger had something to do with Carly’s disappearance in the first book but then literally never mentioned it again. Can we talk about that?
This is book two in The Billion Heirs series and it is Miles and Sadie's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Miles is staying on the ranch with his two brother's so that he can claim his inheritance from his father who is a man he had never met, didn't know and dislikes and everything was going well until a body is found on the ranch and everything points to there father who seemed to be a horrible and dislikes man and the brother's are being tarred with the same brush so Miles has had enough and decided to go out to a bar and that is when he meets Sadie who is out with her friend's wedding party. Miles and Sadie meet again the next day when the brother's are called back to the house and find that Sadie is a police detective and dealing with the murder which makes it not only complicated but also a conflict of interest but with the attraction and chemistry that is hot, strong and intense between them that you can feel it sizzling off the pages now will they deal with it and what will the outcome be for them. There are twists and turns along with danger, betrayal, suspense, loss, family, hope, love and some difficult situations that have you on the edge of your seat while turning the pages wondering what would happen next but danger is just around the corner watching and waiting to strike and then you get an explosive cliff hanger ending with a blast from the past. Wow I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down as it was a real page turner and totally addictive and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
Flawed is Book two of the Billion Heirs series by Helen Hardt and Vanessa Vale.
Flawed is centered around Miles and Sadie. Their story is a really good one they have instant chemistry and gravitational pull toward each other from the beginning. Even before they knew who they actually were their lives would have intertwined. No matter if they met in that bar that night or the following day, fate stepped in grabbed a hold and said you too are it for each other and I was over the moon about it. We're going on a journey with the Bridger Brothers and it's a spectacular one. Their father was not a good guy, to all three his sons he was considered nothing but a sperm donor. He left them a mess to clean up and has even made situations to wear his sons could be implicated in his crimes.
This series has Murder, Mystery, Romance, Suspense, Drama and passion. It is a thrilling series. Flawed is the book that starts throwing you off the trail, just when you think you have it figured out and you know where the story is going to go Helen and Vanessa spin it around, make you do a double take and brings your whole Theory Crashing Down and it's fabulous, phenomenal even. Sadie and Miles working together even though their love should be forbidden. A Person of Interest and a detective on the case is a no no taboo Romance but one that makes your heart sing.
Thank you to Valentine PR for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review
Vanessa Vale and Helen Hardt have done it again!!
This book was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed it just as much, if not more than the first book in the series, and I'm on the edge of my seat now waiting for book number three. I have to say - usually, I'm not a fan of insta-love. But here, it works. Sadie and Miles had me falling in love with them from the first like, two chapters. I mean, they really had a connection! And their spark just kept growing throughout the book. I loved seeing how their dynamic worked, and each page had me on the edge of my seat, wanting more and more.
Like in Scarred, Flawed had a wonderful, powerful female MC. It was so exciting to see Sadie able and ready to defend herself, and its one of the things that I adore about this series thus far. I love a powerful female MC, and Sadie is definitely one of those.
Unlike its title, this book is not at all flawed (haha, get it?) I 100% recommend this, and Scarred. I will now be waiting for the next one and doing nothing else
When Miles & Sadie meet in a bar the chemistry is a huge attraction on both sides but they part ways without sharing personal details. When they cross paths next time it was one of those jaw dropping moments discovering their joint connection to the body found on Bridger land in the first series book. Miles doesn't do relationships, Sadie is feeling things that she was not expecting, a past dalliance causes friction, jealousy rears it's head but while they may be tested when it comes down to it Miles & his brothers stand with Sadie and support her. The brothers may not have grown up knowing of each other but as each brother falls for their special lady I believe they will become a family and make a future together.
Next up is Chance and with the breadcrumbs that have been dropped hinting at his backstory believe life has been far from easy, will he let his brothers in to make something of this mess that was not of their making. Super excited to find out who was responsible for the murder and for Chance to find his own romantic love.
Was gifted an ARC copy of this book and voluntarily offering a personal opinion, enjoy everyone.
This second instalment in The Billion Heirs series was such a great read that once I started I couldn't put it down!!! It had all the drama, mystery and a steamy romance I simply adored!
After the ending of book one there were many questions floating in the air. Miles Bridger finds himself as well as his brothers Austin and Chance in more trouble. But for Miles, his luck is about to change with a unique bar encounter and a pair of panties.
Detective Sadie Hopkins is investigating a murder case that occurred in the Bridger Ranch so it takes her by surprise when her sexy bar encounter is not other that Miles Bridger.
The sensual tension between Miles and Sadie is hot, but there is a conflict of interest and many obstacles along the way. They are many questions surrounding the case and a shocking revelation along the way.
Miles and Sadie's story was so good, I loved every interaction and sexy encounter they had but what I loved the most was their connection and the need to be there for each other when bad things strike.
The Bridger Brothers are still looking down the site of the law .. except this time Miles has his eyes set on a certain detective on the case and he isn’t letting her out of his site !! Sadie Hopkins might be a detective on the case of who and how a deceased body shows up on the Bridger Ranch but she is also a woman and a sister and has deeper feelings about this case than she originally knew because the second time she sees Miles Bridger she know in her heart there is something more there.
Miles Bridger isn’t the relationship type being a business owner of MB Custom’s back NYC and living out his year obligation in Montana he doesn’t have time for LOVE except he has never been in love before and once he sees Sadie he know there is something more there too !!
Can these two get the law on there side and family out of there business enough to realize that one night in a bar and a bachelorette dare was the BEST NIGHT OF THERE LIVES ??
Can’t wait for more and to see if Chance will find his Happily Ever After ??
After the ending in Scarred and was excitedly awaiting Flawed. I really enjoyed Miles’ story. I loved his protective nature and his alpha personality. He built big and looks scary. But he’s a big teddy bear when it comes to Sadie. Sadie is a detective in a small town in Montana. She is one durable woman. She finds herself suddenly entangled into many webs. But she keeps her cool and her wit’s about her. What I loved about Sadie even though she is capable of defending and taking care of herself. She has no problems with Miles stepping up to protect her. She’s a perfect blend of tough and letting her man be a man. Their chemistry is hot and sizzling right off the bat. The minute they meet it’s a no holds barred. Their need for each other is also more than just the physical. It’s stronger and deeper. I loved that bond they had. The suspense and drama going on had my mind spinning. Trying to figure out what’s going on. And who done it. The mystery and intrigue is a mind teaser and a guessing game. I’m excited for Chance’s story and having all my questions answered.
Love this premise; Rich rancher father has sons; two he never acknowledges, and one grows up on the ranch, but they do not have a good relationship. The Will states all three sons will inherit, but they must live and work together on the ranch for one year. Austin got his story in book #1. Miles from NY gets his story here. Chance grew up on the ranch. All three men have had their lives upturned.
Currently a body is found on the property, and Detective Peterson who doesn’t like the Bridgers tries to make more of it than there is. His partner Detective Sadie Hawkins meets Miles during a bachelorette dare as he tries to work out some frustrations. They find out together he is a “suspect” on her latest case. As Miles was in NY at the time – he is not really a suspect. But continuing a relationship has its challenges.
Action-packed, with intrigue, relationships and romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and can’t wait for the next story in the series.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
The bad boy brother. The by-the-books detective. A random meeting that will change their lives. Miles Bridger would rather be home in New York than stuck on a Montana ranch with his newfound half brothers, thanks to his deadbeat dad’s will.
Heat flares between Sadie and the gorgeous blond man she approaches, but when a high-profile case crosses her desk the next day, she’s in for a surprise. The man from the bar is none other than Miles Bridger…and he’s a murder suspect.
Despite this revelation, Miles and Sadie’s chemistry sizzles. But the flawed Miles doesn't do relationships, and Sadie's past crashes into the present with a surprising discovery that could spell danger for both of them.
I’m enjoying this series about the Bridger brothers and their inheritance that will make them billion-heirs!
Book 2 focuses on middle brother, Miles, a mechanic from New York City. This book is good, but I just did not get the same sense of connection with Miles and Sadie as I did with Austin and Carly in book 1.
This series has a storyline that continues across all 3 books, the brothers’ inheritance and some shady business deals their father was allegedly involved with and the mystery surrounding the body found on the ranch in book 1.
In this 2nd book, the storyline focuses more on these plots and a bit less in getting to know either Miles or Sadie. The book is definitely still interesting and engaging, and I’m eager to read book 3 about Chance and Avery, the one who got away.
I received a free ARC from the authors and their publisher; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
