Emotional and practical aspects of divorce

This is an essential read for those navigating divorce. Divorce is never easy and it is always good to be well prepared. The book really excels in its clear and compassionate writing style. It makes these intricate legal concepts accessible to all. It also covers the emotional and practical aspects of divorce. I appreciate that this read offers not just legal advice but also psychological support. This practical guide really goes through each phase of the divorce process. From pre-filing to finalization. The book made me feel a huge range of emotions: from fear and anxiety to empowerment and hope. It aims to transform a challenging experience into a manageable one.

Useful for life

Although I am not married yet, I have had a steady partner for a couple of years and I want to get married. In that sense, knowledge and information in the face of the ill winds that can come during a marriage can never hurt.
This book by Cannon is a primer on everything you need to know if your marriage takes the inevitable course of divorce and it is in fact based on three fundamental learning premises; to educate those who are facing divorce and child custody, to help you evaluate and identify the family lawyer that best suits your needs and to give you that backbone of knowledge for the entire process.
It is better to be safe than sorry, so this book is useful to anyone who has marriage in their plans, because today you know you are fine with your relationship, but tomorrow everything can change. Excellent book.

Avery insightful

I’ve honestly never investigated anything about divorce as I’ve never had the need to, but I’ve definitely learned a thing or two from this read. Divorce sounds scary and it also sounds like a bad thing but sometimes, it is necessary for the wellbeing of those involved.
Throughout this book, the reader will find very interesting information as well as helpful tips and possibly a thing or two they did not know.
The author also touches key points such as information to know before filing for divorce, divorce 101, stages and children in divorce. Each with special and helpful advice. This book will be very useful to those going through or beginning their divorce journey.

I bought this book for my cousin who is experiencing an unhealthy marriage and still doesn´t know his next step. I consider that being informed is the best way to prepare and anticipate for the worst, if it doesn´t happen, great, but if it does, at least you know what's coming.

Cannon writes with experience about divorce. As a lawyer, he has seen a variety of cases and results, resulting in a complete guide. The book treats divorce from the legal aspect of it, but also underlining the feelings behind it, making the book both informative and comprehensive.

Overall, it's the kind of book that can help those in need, providing legal counsel while helping the reader find the right attorney for the job.

I understand that thinking about divorce is not an option for everyone, but we know that today it is something that we have to see a lot and perhaps even experience firsthand. This book creates a space where we have valuable information and advice on how to deal with it. It offers us a fairly wide spectrum that ranges from the financial, the legal conditions of a divorce and really what I highlight and why I recommend this book is the knowledge that can help us draw a clear route of how to proceed in the event that any of us is going through this situation. The author in each of his pages fills us with empowerment. This book is highly recommended for those people who are going through a divorce or simply want to know more about the subject.

Extremely Helpful

As a mother to an adult child with children, I am thankful for the help to encourage them through a difficult divorce process—a process wholly unfamiliar to me. My job has been to give love, support, and sound advice when I am called upon. Educating myself on the divorce process has helped me become a trusted partner for their family. This book provides current assistance for all—those directly involved in the divorce proceedings as well as their extended family members or their support group.

This guide has quite a bit of information when it comes to divorce. Even though it's short, it is pretty concise overall. This book takes you through the start and end of the whole process. Cannon talks about if you have kids and that whole process, money, military, and just the ins and outs of it all. Overall, the book provides guidance and reminds you to be kind to the person you are separating with and with yourself. It'll be easier if you do that.
