Privateer Captain James Boucan (Boocan) 's most powerful enemy is hunting him. And so he has a choice to hide the rest of his days partially safe, but always looking over his shoulder, or fight perhaps impossible odds trying to be free. With the devil to pay as his enemy ceaselessly hunts him, and his fundamental beliefs that he holds so dearly being challenged. James wonders if anything will ever be the same again. If he will be the same. If he wants to be.
I don't normally read books about Pirates but this one proved to be an exciting read. It is well written and draws the reader into the plot. I am looking forward to reading the sequel!
