Living is the best revenge…even if it’s living in Hell. And Hell Followed Behind Her combines the three books into one.
In Betrayed, Akta is poisoned, sent to Hell, sells her soul to the queen of the underworld, and comes back from the dead to seek revenge on the king that killed her.
In Fallen, God asks Akta to retrieve a fallen angel in Hell, which sends Akta traveling across the underworld with her new guide, Lucifer, as she seeks to fulfill God’s wish and achieve eternal salvation in Heaven.
In Hellfire, a conspiracy has arisen to kill the Devil, and Akta is the only one who can protect the newly appointed king of the underworld, Lucifer, and assure he’s not murdered before he’s even settled into his new job.
If you love action, adventure, magic, and demons, then And Hell Followed Behind Her is for you.

Betrayed * * So, once again we are gifted with a female MC, full of sass, and a badass of their own right. Akta is a pixie, raised by a human king and many lies. Raised to be the fiercest monster hunter in the land (even though she too is a 'monster'), she does all she can to help protect the humans living in the land of her king. Both the father-king & brother-king are full of shit however and only preach "peace" until the secret of pixie dust can be discovered and turned into a weapon for humans. King Odgeir the second (aka the son/brother), is a power hungry dick bent on destroying the existence of all monsters. He seeks the one thing that makes his "monster" of a sister more powerful than him, her pixie dust. After sending her on the latest in a long line of ridiculously dangerous missions hoping she'd get killed along the way; he poisons her drink and uses her bag of pixie dust to make his soldiers more powerful to beat the monsters. * In death, Akta finds herself in Hell and proves herself worth a second chance to go back and get revenge. She makes her deal with Velaska, the current God of the Underworld, taking over after Hades had grown bored and yearned for adventure. She is every bit as I remember her from reading the other stories that take place in this universe. She can certainly be a bitch, but she is very clever and entertaining and I am excited to see this part of her life. I really came to love her character throughout the other stories. * Back on Earth, Akta awakens in her decaying body, cursing Velaska's name (you would be too), to find a troll trying to wake her up. I wish our troll friend had a name, but he is very kind (though a bit simple) and thinks the decaying corpse of our MC is very pretty. They quickly strike a friendship and are captured by Rasmus, a pixie fighting for all monsters, who takes them to see Ylfingur, a cyclops whose son Akta had killed before she was killed. Akta also learns what it is like for all those who have been beaten, laughed at, and killed simply for being different. She works with the last of the monster soldiers to bring down the king and destroy any remaining pixie dust. Akta killing the king and sending him to Velaska is the only way for her not to serve her time ( 3 million years) in hell but instead her soul be forgiven. * There is a massive battle, though our few soldiers have transported themselves to the castle to kill the king and give the others a fighting chance. Akta meets her mother, long thought dead, Zabine only to have the reunion cut short by a dagger and slow reflexes. Also, Rasmus turns out to be her brother! * * We rush after Odgeir and Akta gets her killing blow. She calls back to the old ways, naming her brother the new king; one who will truly bring peace for ALL in the land before succumbing to both injuries and a crumbling body. She awakens to find herself back in her body as it was before, praise from Velaska, and reunited with her mother. * * Fallen * * Akta is awarded after her death in the halls of Valhalla. Our story hear picks up about 500 years after, during which she is truly happy and surrounded by love instead of hate. She is beloved for who she is and reunited with her momma! * Unfortunately, Zabina isn`t very happy because it turns out that many of the Vikings living it up in Valhalla are there for their hunting of pixies and other such fairy folk. Poor Akta doesn`t really take notice of it until now when mom makes her look. * So... time to deal with God again AKA Bacchus AKA the single most terribly horrendous god to ever exist. He has send out Gabriel, our messenger of the gods after Hermes, to find the one who can find a missing angel of theirs down in Hell. Guess who they seek??? Gabriel appears on the bridge between worlds and comes to make a deal with Akta. She agrees to come meet God on her condition that her and her mother can live a happy eternity on Mount Olympus, soon to be renamed Heaven. God agrees and Akta is told to meet up with their informant in Hell, Lucifer. * *if only* * Yes. Apparently, it has been a few hundred millennia and he actually does quite well, for an angel, in Hell. Also, Velaska has made quite a few changes like all monsters are no longer condemned to Hell like before. They are made to work the land instead. Better than being tortured I guess. Akta enters to find demons much more chill, souls in cages, and her own brother Rasmus, driving a carriage. * So Lucifer is taking Akta straight to Velaska`s castle since that is where the angel is. It seems Lucifer has known the angels whereabouts for some time but Gabriel refused to believe him. He also couldn`t understand all the heroes sent down to rescue the angel when they never got passed the front gate without getting sentenced. He seems a bit more alive too, compared to meeting him during Katrina`s adventures. * So Velaska, Akta, and Lucifer having the big religion talk about the will of the Gods` and mortals on Mount Olympus gave me so much life. I loved all the back and forth!! * Alright so, forgot about Quinn but oh no, my sweet little (well sometimes) lizard girl. And all because she finally had a friend. ANd of COurse Lucifer has to show up right at the end there and ruin everything, including slicing his sister in half. Poor angel. I really wanted to know what exactly she saw; freedom from the gods. * * Velaska was her usually clever bitchy self, getting Akta to sell her soul to the Devil. For interfering where she didn`t belong and certainly didn`t have all the information. She ends up agreeing to be in service to Velaska in Hell, until she chooses to release her. Which we all know is SO NOT happening. * * * Hellfire * * We pick up 300 years after Akta`s deal, and now Lucifer`s charge so let the apocalypse begin!! lol! I`m kidding, only kidding. THAT story comes later. In this story, Akta is busy being a dutiful little scout and one in particular claims to know of a legitimate plot to kill Lucifer. See, as the Devil now, he`s immortal and therefore practically impossible to kill, however, we soon learn about the Necronomican and the Dagger of Obsolescence. Turns out Charon, our ferryman and his beloved Yilir wrote the book and made most the weapons of Hell designed to kill a God, or a Devil. Well, Yilir did, but she`s been gone for several millennia now. Also, turns out that there is a titan trapped in Hell, right under the castle, which is why there is so much magic here to compared to the rest of Hell, Earth, and Mount Olympus. * In Akta`s search for the dagger, we get to meet Charlie, an imp old as dirt, who is an expert in the occult. Turns out, the dagger is being hunted by the Godless, a new faction which formed after Lucifer`s Fall. It consists of many of the demons who followed Lucifer into battle and believed that he would change things in Hell for them; ie freedom. Things did not go well. They have been trying to kill him for centuries but when he become the Devil, they began searching for the Necronomicon and the dagger to kill him and finally be free. While that is their mission, the hatred of Gods and those who follow them is their belief which is why they are after Lucifer. He lost them the battle when he coward and begged to be back into Bacchus` good graces. Killing Lucifer and any who would get in the way would get destroy any last influence of the Gods in Hell and on the demons. Anyway, I quite enjoy the banter between these two. * WELP... we found the dagger- too bad Charlie was one of them. Shouldn`t be surprised I guess, but I kinda liked the little imp. AND NOW the damn dagger is off to meet the assassin who will kill Lucifer... * * Well, assassination stopped. Lucifer saved. A trap is set. The imps who come are dead and Charlie gives up the leaders- Ylfingur and his son, Bjarngimur. They saw Lucifer give up that day and beg, denouncing everything he preached to the masses. Left back in the castle with the Devil to protect him while Akta goes off to punish the Godless, Lucifer is punished, Rasmus is unconscious, and Akta makes a surprise return. Unfortunately, she has to use the dagger on our cyclops friends, and Lucifer, selfish ass, keeps her from keeping her word and honor to Aziolith, the dragon who helped her, by keeping the dagger and hiding it away. * ON THE PLUS SIDE, Akta gets Rasmus home and Gabriel surprises her with a visit from her mother, not truly though. They get to see each other still and Akta tells her about Rasmus, his family, and how their line, their blood lives on.
