Okay! I finished another round of edits and a read through for Book 2, TOTH, of the Miller Family series! Wow, this one is a roller coaster and honestly, different from A New Beginning. That fact makes me a little nervous, but I love this book. There are so many emotions and different aspects that aren’t in A New Beginning. But I promise you there will still be fun and laughter and faith content! I introduce three new POV’s instead of just having Vanessa’s. You get Nick’s, Dan’s and Anastasia’s. It’s also really long like the longest book I’ve ever written. I’m super excited for this one and can’t wait for it to hopefully release later this year!

Quotes *all subject to change* ~
"Lies and deceit are more common than the truth as of late"
"You might be surprised. Once someone finds the right book, there's truly no going back. you'll be sucked into the story forever, never quite leaving it behind. It becomes a part of you. Of your heart. That's what literature is for, isn't it? It's meant to change us, impact us, reveal truths about ourselves we never knew existed before seeing it on paper in the form of a character that you realize is just like you."
"Those who understand their craft, and are passionate, speak differently about it than someone who isn't interested in whatever the craft may be. You hear readers and writers describing fictional worlds with such vividness it seems almost tangible. You see performers bring a story to life with the tone of their voice, and the movement of their hands."
"You know, your past is like a cake. It can look pretty from the outside, but if you add salt instead of sugar, the inside is all wrong."
"And while a spot is still empty and aching for those I am missing, the ones who surround me have made sure that the day wouldn't cease before I felt loved and cared for. Their demonstrative love makes me even more determined to give it back to them, so they feel the same wholeness that I do."
"Life is too short to dwell on past wounds."
"'You think I'm not going to choose a little bit of danger over the guilt that overwhelms me when I'm not useful? I need to be useful.'"
"'You don't have to follow in your bloodline. Look how far you've already come, breaking the chains that bound you to them.'"
"Broken things grow back stronger. Your scars are signs of a battle that you won."
"I tilt my head back, letting it rest against the rough tree bark while I stare into the sky. A few little stars peak out behind clouds and last rays of sun. I know that once the sun has fully dipped below the horizon that even more stars will appear in the night, shining down, finally getting their time to glow, when precious people are even awake to see them. But I'm awake. I see them. It is when the power leaves that the delicate beauty gets to shine."
"We move forward with a confidence that is both feigned and true down to the core. Because while we feel no sure expectancy for a positive outcome, we have courage, and that can be around even when fear resides. In fact, it would not exist without it."
Brief content review: No language, brief kissing (a few instances, some mild description), no spice, no innuendo, mild to moderate violence (mentions of blood, injuries, verbal abuse, etc.) *subject to change*

[NEW TOP BOOK BOYFRIEND OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO: ZANDER CLIFTON CALDELL] Ladies and well, ladies, Zander Clifton Caldell is most likely going to be your new book boyfriend of the year. I will allow you the joy of discovering him by yourself (yes, I want to go on a rant but I will let you learn about him). Never has a love interest been so memorable, so lovable, and such marriage material!
*cough cough*
Enough about my fictional hubby, let me give you a weak, watered-down review of the rest of the book.
Setting: I loved it. I'm a bit biased because I did create some of the animal names and concepts, but the way the author wove them into the book truly immersed me in the setting, and it felt like I tripping on vines along with Avalanche.
Characters: Avalanche was very witty, and I loved all the science-y jokes she made, even if I didn't understand them. Keira Mueller always does a great job with character growth. It's always so gradual and realistic, so I always find her books very refreshing. Sometimes I find myself forgetting that they're books, but then I remember that I can't stalk Zander on Instagram. *cries in single*
Plot: The plot twist?!?! You can't prepare yourself even if you tried.
Romance: I loved how refreshing it was. Usually, the reluctant-allies-to-lovers is them insulting each other for the first five pages, then kissing, but this was amazing and exactly what I always wanted to see in books. The banter is exquisite.
Themes: Avalanche's backstory was incredible, and I'm used to FMCs having trauma from parents, or if if they have a bad experience with a boy, then they talk about it for a few chapters, then they forget about all of it as soon as they see a cute boy, but Avalanche's journey was very realistic and gradual. The religion was very nice; I could instantly tell it was a Christian allegory, and the way Zander explained it to Avalanche was beautifully done.
In conclusion, I want to read it again immediately, and you all need to read this book as soon as it comes out so we can fan-girl over Zander together.
Nothing is as it Seems by Kay Adelin: This was such a fun read, the plot twists were SO fascinating! Writing up my feedback now, I can't wait for this book to be out in the world!
