A little snow never hurt anyone…until it traps you with a stranger and only one bed.
Drew Olsen has had it. Calling the previous few years “rough” would be a massive understatement. He’s been in a sour mood ever since his family’s scandalous actions shook the entire town of Moon Harbor. Now he’s out of a job and homeless for the next five days. Oh, and it’s almost Christmas. So much for holiday spirit.
Mia Gallo is on the run. Which, it turns out, is a lot less stressful when it includes a stopover at a cute cottage in the woods for Christmas. As long as those criminal buffoons don’t show up, she’ll be fine. She just needs to hide out long enough for the police to do their thing, but Mia never expected to get stuck in a blizzard…with a seriously hot grump.
Being snowed in together for Christmas was not in their plans. But it might be just what they both need.
*** By Candlelight is a steamy small town Christmas novella, featuring forced proximity, snowed in, and grumpy/sunshine tropes. Happy holidays from Moon Harbor!

By Candle Light is a sweet and spicy holiday novella set in the world of Moon Harbor. Mia wants a quiet and peaceful escape from her life for the holidays, and Drew has no where to go, so they end up at the same cottage rental for the night. Only, it isn’t just a night. A bad snow storm strands them alone together for a few days, and the story continues on from there.
As both Mia and Drew find something they didn’t even know they were looking for, we are delivered a story full of heart, emotion and some seriously spicy love scenes. Atmospheric and perfectly paced, I challenge you not to read the entire thing in one sitting. I love the writing style, and the descriptions of the setting are done in such a way that they transport you into the story effortlessly. I can almost taste the hazelnut hot chocolate and smell snow in the air. I wish Moon Harbor were a real place! The characters are relatable and layered, and you can’t help but get attached to them. An excellent addition to the Moon Harbor series, I cannot wait to continue reading Drew and Mia’s story in the next novella, Red Light, coming out on Valentines Day.
Short novella midway through the series. When Alex’s cottage gets double books sparks fly. This as a great read and brings in new characters and more from Alex’s estranged brother.
Sometimes you need to get snowed in with a hot stranger!!
What happens when the town hotels, motels, B&B's, everything is booked and Drew needs a place to stay? A family cottage is available for the weekend! Awesome. What about when a stranger walks in on Drew while he's showering, stating she rented the place from Drew's sister? That could be a problem for sure. Yeah, this can't be good. But what's he supposed to do? The snow is coming down so fast and the heat is turning up in the cabin. Can Drew keep his hands to himself? Does he want too?
Mia is confused. There's a naked man in her shower. Did he come with the cottage? She needs to review the contract. Drew is the owner's brother and a grump. He is difficult for sure, but Mia is a ray of sunshine and happiness. They will figure this all out. Mia is a southern girl and is enjoying the snow and her time at the cottage. Drew is an added bonus. When the power cuts out, Drew tosses more wood onto the fire and stokes that flames with Mia. How will this end??? Do they want it to end??
OMG! I love Drew and Mia. They are the opposite of each other and it works well. Where he is rough, she is soft. Little does Drew know, Mia likes his roughness.
This book was too good! Short, sweet, spicy 🥵!! It’s always the quiet grumpy ones you have to watch!lol
This book is part of a series and while they can be read as a standalone because some of the characters overlap you should probably read the others first.
In this book we pick up with Drew. Drew is still dealing with the aftermath of what happened in Book One. As a result he’s shut himself off and has been self isolating from friends and family. Mia is just visiting for the holidays and needs Moon Harbor as an escape in more ways than one.
This was a quick read. The characters felt well rounded even though this was a shorter read. It made me laugh, swoon a little bit, and then the spice hit…boy oh boy. Drew is…something else.lol
Kate really set us up with that little cliffhanger though! Good thing the next part is already out. 😏
Four stars for this installment of the Moon Harbor Series! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was just what I needed to get me started on my winter TBR. ❄️
Drew was soooo grumpy the holidays were coming. He found himself without a place to stay for a few days so he was offered a cabin by his sister that is typically used as an AirBNB. With a last minute cancellation, he had a place to sleep for Christmas.
Enter Mia who booked the same cabin last minute.
& boy they were surprised when they found themselves there at the same time.
*cue a massive snowstorm* (honestly my fav). Now these two strangers were forced to stay together, where there was only one bed!
4.5⭐️ 2🌶️ (only because it was a novella but the spice was spicing!)
These two were so cute and it was over way too fast. There was a lot of story packed into this cute novella package and a little birdie told me there is more to their story! I can’t wait to really find out why Mia is on the run and if Drew is ever not grumpy!
I love the whole forced proximity/one bed/snowed in vibe, it’s like a Hallmark Christmas movie without the third act misunderstanding with a nice dollop of spice. I enjoyed the story and characters, I just wish it had been longer! I want to know more about what Mia’s ex did and Drew’s family drama - I just have so I many questions. I guess I’ll have to wait until I can read the next one.
The fire was definitely lit!! I swear this man's mouth and roughness is everything. What a delicious ride. I cannot wait for more of them 🔥
Drew our grumpy man who has closed the door to love and being close to anyone, especially after what happened with his family. Mia our beautiful and sweet woman looking for something new to take a break from her horrible ex. Little do they know their life is about to change, they are the breath of fresh air they both needed.
I was already a Moon Harbor super fan, but Kate blew me away with this one. She took a grumpy side character and turned him into someone I was 100% rooting for. At Christmas. While being snowed in. And the fact that I got emotional during such a short stpry? That's some good writing. I cannot wait to hear more of Mia & Drew's story!
Drew is a grumpy grump, but why? He jeeps to himself, he has a sister he never knew about until recently and a brother who you find more about later.
Mia is a light in the storm. She captured his interest immediately, and he capture hers. There was fire without the fireplace but once it got roaring I wanted more so....I can't wait to read more on this couple. They were amazing.
This book packs so much heat and heart into its 90-something pages! I loved the build-up between Drew and Mia and can't wait for the next installment. McWilliams is on the top of my one-click authors for a reason!
Before I even finished this novella, I downloaded book one in the series onto my Kindle. Kate McWilliams is a new one-click author for me. By Candlelight was a fast-paced read, filled with heated desire and intriguing secrets. Cannot wait for the next installment.
Holy Holiday hand necklaces! I was not prepared to love Drew as much as I do Sam, Theo and Raf but he raised the bar when she dropped those cookies! I cannot wait for more!!
