Mounds of chocolate and plenty of sampling are all but guaranteed when covering the Firefly Chocolate Festival. Sunni Taylor is happy to oblige. The main event of the whole cocoa-y affair is a chocolate sculpting contest. Soon after opening, the festival is marred by accusations of cheating and sabotage, intrigues that take a back seat to something much more disruptive—murder. Sunni has to put down the chocolate salted caramels and chocolate covered toffee and find out who killed the chocolatier. Oh, and here’s an interesting tidbit, dear reader. She won’t be working with her usual favorite detective on this case.
I loved this latest Firefly Junction cozy by London Lovett. I love reading about all the characters. This time around a couple of cute goats is added and it is so funny when Edward sees them! In this story, there is a Chocolate Festival coming up and everyone is excited. Unfortunately, a lot of people show up from out of town who have other things on their mind. Sunny lands right in the middle of it and since Jackson, Sunni's detective boyfriend is off for the week and a new detective takes the case, it's up to Sunni to solve the case on her own, as the new detective won't let her have anything to do with the case. Read on and enjoy all the things that happen in this wonderful cozy mystery! I gave this book 5 stars!
Here is a list of this wonderful series and although the books can be read as a standalone, I got more enjoyment out of reading from the beginning.
1. Death in the Park 2. Killer Bridal Party 3. Murder at the Inn 4. A Humbug Holiday 5. Calamity at the Carnival 6. Double Trouble 7. Havoc at Wildwood Manor 8. Fatal Feud 9. Trick or Trouble 10. A Crafty Killing 11. Death at the Museum 12. Murder at the Pumpkin Patch 13. Founders’ Day Fiasco 14. Heat Wave Homicide 15. Terror at Thorn Bridge Hotel 16. Chocolate Festival Felony 17. TBA
We're back with Sunni and her crew as she investigates muuuurrrrrder at the Firefly Chocolate Festival. Technically, it could have been an accident, but Sunni thinks otherwise. And, let's face it, when Sunni starts investigating THINGS HAPPEN.
On the not-usual scale, Jax isn't the one officially investigating this time. A new detective has joined the force and Jax is taking a (probably) well-deserved couple of days off when the deed gets done. Which means Sunni's mostly on her own as far as sussing out clues and piecing things together.
Her lack of official help doesn't slow her down, however. It isn't long before she's putting herself in dangerous situations, calling on ghostly residents for clues, and, well, did you see that part about dangerous situations? Because it happens. Big time. (On the plus side, there are baby goats Sunni and Jax get to spend time with. BABY GOATS!)
Sunni Taylor is at it again in "Chocolate Festival Felony." This time there is a huge chocolate festival in Firefly Junction. As a matter of fact, Emily, one of Sunni's sister is entering the contest with her toffee and chocolate candy. Emily hosts a chocolate dipping party at Sunni's house. During this chocolate extravaganza the guest overhear Sunni's conversation with Jackson. They learn that Jackson has a surprise for Sunni and all of them are convinced he is bringing over a ring so he can propose.
Unfortunately, they have guessed wrong but the surprise Jackson has for her is great. As Sunni suffers from some embarassment from the mistaken surprise, she decides to concentrate on an influence by the name of Vanning Vanessa. Apparently she travels from town to town with her remodeled van conversion. In addition to all of the excitement generated by the appearance of Vanning Vanessa, there is a new detective hired to work at the police department, Detective Roy Willow. He takes a bit of getting use to since he is rather talkative and opinionated. It's good thing he is not Jackson's partner. However, as all of us know, Sunni always seems to stumble upon any and all murders in Firefly Junction. It is inevitable that she and Detective Willow will meet.
As the chocolate festival events begin to take place there is a murder. This time there seems to be quite a few suspects and Sunni will have to dig deep if she is going to solve this murder. While I did enjoy this read, I wish more time was spent on Edward the ghost and Sunni's budding relationship with Jackson. It just seems as though some of the personal relationship aspects of the series is somewhat stalling a bit. At any rate, The Firefly Junction Cozy Mystery series is definitely one to place on your "to read" list.
London did it again! I absolutely love this series. I am really hoping Sunni purchases the old Thornbridge Hotel in lieu of her BnB turned farm dream. I hope there's at least 20 more in the series to come, as my ONLY complaint is that the ongoing stories of the characters' lives is very very slow moving. Come on, we need to know if Sunni truly develops a crush on her ghost. Do Edward and the Thornbridge ghost ever talk again? How could Sunni NOT buy the TH. Will Raine ever have a more starring role? Jackson and Sunni need a shake up. I'd love for Sunni to begin running into more spirits, since she has such an amazing gift. Ahh the possibilities!

Excellent story line. It was really nice to catch up with old friends. I must say the chocolate festival was a brilliant idea and Vanning Vanessa was quite a trip. Never heard of anyone doing that. And all the bloggers. Who would think you could influence people on a blog. Love the way the characters interact with each other. Some surprises in store for you all. No spoilers here. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! I want to visit Firefly Junction and meet all these wonderful characters! The addition of 2 baby goats is absolutely perfect! And chocolate how can you go wrong with chocolate involved! Vanessa Vanning is quite a character borderline villain!!!! I love the building of relationships with the characters as well like with Sunny and Lauren. Every time I read a book in this series I feel like I am visiting with friends.
I enjoy this series of books. It was good to return to Firefly Junction again. Sunni was up to her usual investigating, and all the chocolate talk sounded so good. Wish I had some to eat. Edward is such a great spirit. I love him! Now Jax needs to get that ring on her finger.
Chocolate Festival Felony is a good read. I love the setting of the town and the characters. The mystery was good and there are a few suspects to decipher who did it. The end ping was action packed and thrilling.

This is my absolute favorite. Dunno cracks me up every time. She is sweet and sassy and funny. I love that she has 2 swoon-worthy men looking out for her. She sure needs them!
I produce the largest chocolate festival in FL. I totally devoured this book. I loved the realism of small town events and the twists and turns the plot took! Now I’m craving chocolate!
Really enjoyed the story don't know if it was all the chocolate, or the animals that has me reading from start to finish in one sitting! Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
I love watching these characters grow. Now with the addition of 2 goats, it brought the Sunni and Jackson to the next level. I love watching these characters grow together. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
