“Who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these...” John 14:12
In John 14:12, Jesus promised that his believers will do the works He did and even greater ones. Through Jesus we have access to the life, power, and gifts of the Holy Spirit which enable us to do what He promised. Throughout our 2,000-year history, God has not stopped raising up holy men and women who have been filled with the Holy Spirit and cultivated lifestyles that demonstrated the supernatural power and love of God to advance the Kingdom of God in their time.
As the co-founder and Director of the Encounter School of Ministry, author Patrick Reis will unpack ministry lessons from six incredible saints who walked in the life and gifts of the Holy Spirit. In Supernatural Saints, you will sit at the feet of these heroes of our faith and learn directly from their supernatural ministry.
In this book, you will
Signs, wonders, miracles, and healings have always been present through the history of the ChurchAbout the intimate encounters with God which led these saints to walk in the power and gifts of the Holy SpiritInsights into the practical ways each saint partnered with the Holy Spirit in prophecy, deliverance and healingClarity in teaching surrounding topics like resting in the Spirit, impartation, command prayers for healing, and lay involvement in deliverance ministryThe role of angels in ministry and how you can experience greater participation with them in your ministryThe lives and lessons of these saints offer us a “school of ministry” straight from the heart of the Church.
Bishop David O’Connell, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles
“The saints are often seen as our heroes of faith. But the stories of their lives and supernatural ministries have sometimes seemed like folk lore, and beyond the experience of us everyday believers. Patrick closes the gap between their ministry and our experience, helps us to understand their spiritual practices, and encourages us that we too can be powerful instruments of Jesus in the world. God always raises up saints to shine like lights in the world in critical moments of history. May this book equip and activate you to be a source of hope in this suffering world.”
Dr. Mary Healy, S.T.D., Professor of Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, bestselling author, and international speaker
“I thought I knew these saints, but Patrick Reis draws out lessons from their lives that are new, amazing, eye-opening, practical, and exactly what is needed for the Church’s mission today. I find myself deeply challenged and inspired by this book.”
Peter Herbeck, Vice President, Renewal Ministries
"Patrick Reis has written an important and timely book by giving us a rare look into the ministry habits and strategies of six of our most beloved saints. Supernatural Saints makes a genuine contribution to “equipping the saints for ministry” in our day by harvesting important ministry lessons from these saints who not only model for us the life of holiness and heroic virtue, but also teach us how to walk in the supernatural."
Fr. Boniface Hicks OSB, Author and Director of Spiritual Formation, Saint Vincent Seminary, Latrobe, PA
I read this book as part of the first quarter of the Encounter School of Ministry. It was very helpful in seeing how the concepts we’ve been learning were applied by real people. Even without taking the class, I recommend this book for anyone interested in the lives of the saints and in the gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit.
My sister is the one that introduced me to Encounter ministries. Like the book mentioned, she experienced healing herself and wishes to continue to the school. I love reading about the saints and I think it sort of works that I have been binging The Chosen lately. Seeing the apostles in the show (although some of it is fictionalized) helps me to grasp this idea of Pentecost and the supernatural ministry. The continuing gifts of the Holy Spirit throughout the years and the fact that we can continue asking the Holy Spirit for guidance to keep these gifts as Christians today is exciting yet terrifying at the same time. Thats why when I see some of the apostles in the show having misgivings it gives me comfort that yes, this is a human emotion to have when facing the possibility of gifts. However the book’s encouraging words makes me feel on FIRE for the Holy Spirit and excited to dive into this further. Great book highly recommend!
Read this book as supplemental reading for my Encounter school of ministry course. The book gives great examples of Saints who prayed confidently. Many stories of how our brothers and sisters before us tapped into all that they have been given to pray boldly to ask God for the help and guidance that is needed here on earth now. Patrick inspired my own prayer life to look to the saints who have gone before us for intercession, help and inspiration.
Supernatural Saints was an excellent read for how we as followers of Christ can step out in the power of the Spirit to bless those around us. Well researched book! We have such a rich heritage of those who have gone before us. Loved the practical Lessons format.
To realize that our purpose in life is to do as Jesus did. I have been working on doing things for him. But this book encourages teaching, helping and healing from his power within us. Remember it is always God not us !
I am so glad I listened to and read this book by Patrick Reis as a part of doing the Encounter School of Ministry year one. I loved learning about St Vincent Ferrer, St Philip Neri, St Catherine of Siena, St Francis Xavier, St Padre Pio, and Saint Seraphim. Pray for us!
If you think the powerful and supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit ended with the book of Acts this collection of stories from the Saints will happily prove otherwise!
Huge implications for evangelization today that you will not soon forget and which are very real.
An excellent book by an excellent author. I learned so much about the saints written about in this book. It is amazing to read about the miracles that the saints performed! Who knew!! Very inspirational and will read again.
Gives an in depth account of saints across the globe, and their supernatural healing ministries. It also gives guidance on what we, as Christians, should be doing to follow in their footsteps to bring about a new evangelization.
As far as I can feel in my spirit - the easiest and most exciting guide to evangelization I’ve come across so far. No need to be perfectly eloquent and persuasive, only rely on Jesus and do whatever He tells you - including operating in the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. I want to be His mailman and deliver the torrent of mercy He wants to pour out. Come Holy Spirit! ❤️🔥
