The characters aren't super likeable, but they're fascinating. Everyone except Basil, who deserved better. And Sybil, who also deserved better.
There are some books that were written around the same time as this one that feel like such a slog to get through, but this one moves quickly, but doesn't feel jarring. The drama feels earned for all of the men who continuously make the worst choices.
Dorian has long been one of my favorite books, & reading this absolutely correct version was an eye-opener, but it explained SO much more than was actually in the cut version that was released for wider publication. I highly encourage anyone who's a fan of Dorian Gray to read this version!
