So much going on from start to finish.

This was a wild ride but I was never confused by the story and was genuinely rooting for the main characters. I loved Stacey, the Queen, and Paige - the girl power was exceptional! 👑

The pacing got a bit slow for me in the middle but picked up with some action. A pinch of magic fixed everything.

The set up for a second book got me interested and left me questioning all my original ideas (I think my predictions are going to be wrong. Oops.) 🙊

If you like a little bit of fantasy, a little bit of romance, and something a little corny, then this book may be for you.

J.N Jacobs has done well to create a group of unlikely heroes and develop them into people you feel connected to and can vouch for. I enjoyed reading the progression of the characters across the story and seeing how they shift (sometimes unwillingly) into the roles they needed to fulfil.

At times, I found that the dialogue was a little obvious and clunky, having the characters state things that could have been described through actions, though otherwise I felt that the storyline was pretty original and intriguing.

The end to the book was unexpected and definitely allowed for an interesting set-up into the next book!
