Rate this book
Riichi is a man everyone describes as being ice cold. He's a talented agent who manages bodyguards for the heir to a major financial conglomerate. One day, he's ordered to be a buddy for a bold but capable newbie who shows great promise, Tachibana. Tachibana uses up his salary right off the bat and says he doesn't even have an apartment to live in. Riichi allows Tachibana to stay with him and orders him around both in his work and private lives, but every day, he has his hands full with Tachibana's nonsense. And on top of all of that, Tachibana fell in love with him at first sight and tries to seduce him day and night!

The bold newbie and the calm and collected hottie — a BL story about an oddball buddy agent duo!

A bodyguard, opposites attract + forced proximity BL manga!
Another rec I found via FB (most of my manga/manhwa reads are due to it lol) which was fun to read within 2hrs.

Riichi is a cool-headed but (shy) inexperienced in love, hard-working senior security agent. Mario is a charming, flirt but takes no shit, pushy yet patient rookie. They're also 'temporary' roomies!

It has some action as trouble finds Nobu. Riichi does seem like he is on ace spectrum, seeing these are "strange", "new" feelings. Poor R, literally worked since kid huh?! While Mario "doesn't care for the gender" so yay pansexual rep. R actually liked M's quirks 🤭. There's some misunderstandings but they get cleared up, I'm glad M waited for R!

It is quite short with only 4 ch but we do get confessions (which are fast... but they did live together for a month, so its ok). I AM GLAD I WAS RIGHT ABOUT MY MARIO THEORY! He is a bastard, haha. Basically ended with a reveal, so kinda a cliffhanger.

It's cute ngl, no spice unless u consider a wet dream but kisses, yes. Gonna read Vol 2 soon.

Comic rating:
1) The Characters: 4/5
2) Story: 🤨😳🤭😅😆😉☺️😍🥺😩🙄😜
3) Art: 4.5/5 (not colored)
4) Sexy/Steamy scenes: No, but kinda.

This was very cute, with likable characters, a relationship dynamic I love, and a nice twist on a bodyguard romance (it's bodyguard x bodyguard rather than bodyguard x charge). But this miscommunication drove me crazy. By the end we can understand and sympathize with why Riichi has such a hard time expressing himself, but I'm not fully sure Tachibana does. By the end, he's starting to see he needs to give Riichi some time to get his thoughts together, but I really just hope this pattern doesn't continue throughout all of volume two.

No será el mejor manga que he leído ni tampoco el peor. Me ha entretenido. Me han gustado los personajes. Me ha faltado salseo y más acción, sobre todo la parte de salseo. Pero bueno. Recomendable.

I only meant to read a bit of this and then go to bed but now it's 1am, I'm giggling and kicking my feet, and never in my LIFE have I felt more called out about my own emotional repression.

I can see why this one is highly rated on other sites — it was extremely cute and the romance was so wholesome. I loved the twist on the bodyguard angle, it wasn’t a guard and his charge, it was two guards working together for one young master. The dynamics between them and their charge were so funny at times & the mystery behind the CEO Dad was intriguing (and I really liked how it turned out).

I think that this one had a really good balance between how a naive and inexperienced the uke was (which was so at odds with his attitude of being the male version of an ice queen to everyone else) and how gung-ho golden retriever sunshine and smiles to sultry and teasing the seme was. I like that their chemistry was undeniable even while the uke was floundering with new feelings too. And gosh, the patience on that seme… he really was the sweetest. 🥹

My Dear Agent

Love the love awakening Richii has with Tachibana. Nice watching Nobu grow up a bit. It would be nice if people liked him for more than his money.

YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT THIS ONE? They're actually doing their job. I hate it when the characters forget their responsibilities bc they got into a "relationship" or smth. It's dumB and doesn't suit their situation specially when the characters are agents/spies/bodyguards. You're telling me sucking dick is more important than staying alert during a jOB????????? *side eyeing red candy which i read at the beginning of the month*

Love it

Absolutely loved it! Tachibana and Aoyagi are definitely opposites but it so works! I had so much fun reading it. Has some cute and sexy moments. Nothing graphic. Definitely want to read more!

Cute and actually flowed quite well! I was actually surprised about how cohesive it was. I'm looking forward to vol. 2 after that reveal at the end.

A storyline that doesn’t revolve around the relationship, great characters, slow burn romance that doesn’t jump straight into sex… I like it!

The MMCs are bodyguards and are in a roommates/forced proximity situation. One is the chief bodyguard who is 27 and ~inexperienced~ while the other guy is a big flirt. Their relationship is cute! I love the art style and premise, but the speed that "I love you" was traded was not great lol.

I AM SO SURE WHAT I READ WASNT THE FULL THING I REALLY WANT TO READ THE REST but omg i loved this one it was sooo cute 😭😭 i like the fact that it was a coworker love story! when it comes to bodyguard tropes it’s usually the bodyguard and the person they’re guarding but in this it was a relationship between the 2 bodyguards!! i loved the art style SO MUCH 😩 so pretty and nice to look at (and tachibana mario 👀👀 AWOOOGA) i wish it was longer! i know mario’s past isn’t revealed yet and i’d love a side story about nobu as well…anyway really good

I don't know why this just isn't hooking me. And it's a bummer, because I'd already bought an acrylic plate, assuming from the cover art and summary that I'd like it enough to have some merchandise sitting out on display.

We'll see how the second volume goes. The setting itself is interesting enough; I actually really like the spoiled rich kid (twenty-something heir to a huge conglomerate) they're protecting, particularly his relationship with his main bodyguard, Riichi. Riichi's family has been employed by the Tougen Group for generations, so he grew up as Nobuyasu's protector but also a little bit of an older brother.

The best scenes are the flashbacks, particularly when they're both young and Riichi is sitting there with skinned knees, claiming it doesn't hurt (despite Nobu's concern) because he's been raised to believe his own needs don't matter. The job comes first, along with his responsibilities to the family that employs his family. That leaves him no time to indulge in his own hurts or explore his desires.

That upbringing - external strictness, fueled by Riichi's own deep sense of duty - does make his complete lack of dating experience kind of make sense. But it's also a little...I don't know. It's not my favorite trope. He turns into a blushy mess at the slightest hint of physical contact, and while it's plausible that he's never been kissed, or even been out on a date, it's completely absurd to think that he doesn't know what kissing is or for him to have his first wet dream (?) at age 27.

It's just sort of...not making him or Tachibana into real, fully developed characters. The same's true of their relationship.

What do they like about each other? We start the volume off with Tachibana already hitting on Riichi and demanding the date Riichi had offhandedly promised him, and for Reasons they're living together and presumably getting closer as a result of that. Except we never see that happening. They don't really talk about anything.

Tachibana's interested in Riichi from the moment they meet simply because Riichi's attractive, and Riichi admires Tachibana's skill as a bodyguard and ability to talk Nobu out of some of his increasing selfishness - by treating him like a normal person who still needs to apologize to his friends and can't just discard everyone and everything that bothers him.

Nobu has a decent amount of growth throughout this volume, and I liked the little sideplot about his best friend from school, whom he'd lost for several years due to his selfishness (and insecurity, as it turns out).

Tachibana and Riichi...not really? I get that Riichi finally confessing to Tachibana is meant to seem like a big step from someone who's never let himself want something for himself, but none of the emotions feel particularly genuine or earned. I don't feel any chemistry. Their kissing scenes are kind of awkward.

And what's that weird reveal at the end...is Tachibana actually Riichi's relative, then? And the "where's Riichi? he's dead" lines at the close of the volume were so confusing I kept flipping back and forth. They could've at least shown him passed out on the ground from shock or something.

I don't know. Maybe the second volume will change my mind, but I wasn't very impressed by this one.

Riichi is a professional bodyguard for the only son of the leader of a large conglomerate.

Stern and steadfast, he is a perfect fit for the role and takes his responsibilities very seriously. Having been essentially raised for it, that makes sense.

What doesn’t make sense to him is why he has to be the one to train the new rookie employee, Tachibana—and, apparently, house this man who has nowhere else to go.

Tachibana is cool and handsome, his stature and build making him an ideal candidate for the bodyguard role. But his brash attitude and personality can put him at odds with others.

Especially Riichi—with whom Tachibana is endlessly flirting.

It seems Tachibana’s taken a strong liking to calm and serous Riichi—much to Riichi’s embarrassment.

Being so committed to his work, Riichi’s never had a relationship before and now there’s this annoying but handsome man not only hitting on him but living in his apartment?

Will Riichi be able to withstand Tachibana, or will he finally live a little and succumb?

This is DELIGHTFUL!

I found this to be such a fun read throughout! The central characters are both interesting and they have such an enjoyable chemistry. In particular, I really appreciate Riichi’s character development and his we see his own interior struggles with self worth and duty depicted.

Additionally, the *spice* in this one is light but still pretty enjoyable. I expect the next volume to explore that aspect of their relationship more.

I would definitely recommend this series for any readers who are interested in a queer romance with a fun premise and a quick-paced storyline. I think fans of any contemporary romance paperbacks would enjoy this series~

Riichi is a man everyone describes as being ice cold. He's a talented agent who manages bodyguards for the heir to a major financial conglomerate. One day, he's ordered to be a buddy for a bold but capable newbie who shows great promise, Tachibana, Mario Tchibana.

Mario immediately beomes attracted to Riichi and starts pursuing him. Riichi has never had a boyfriend, or apparently a girlfriend either but is attracted to the very handsome Tchibana. Gradually they get more and more involved and end up in the same bed a few nights where they get some kissing in. However Riichi had invited Mario to stay with him as long as he was planning on looking for a new apartment for himself.

As time goes by, they both notice that they haven't been talking as much and Ricchi tries to figure out what is happening by asking Mario if he is planning to move. Of course both of their ways of being subtle ends up making them both thing that the relationship is over and upsets both of them.

They finally do talk, however, and as a result, there is at least one sequel which I am about to read next. I recommend this especially to people who are fond of MANGAs, especially those that have less trouble following them that I do at times.

This had some issues, but I enjoyed it quite a bit!

Aoyagi having zero relationship experience is one thing, but when he said, "What gave you the idea that I like you?" and "What are you doing about an apartment?" to Tachibana, he really shouldn't have been confused as to why this was upsetting to Tachibana. His cluelessness that created misunderstandings felt forced because he was clearly expressing wanting Tachibana to leave with these statements.

The confession scene was cute, but I wish Aoyagi had just been given a chance to explain why he has difficulty talking about these things. Tachibana still has no idea that he's got no experience with personal relationships, no idea that he suppresses his feelings to do his job well, etc. It would have been better if they had cleared up their issues without it just being "I WANT ALL OF THESE THINGS WITH YOU AND I LOVE YOU" so abruptly.
