"You can share an emotional hug when you offer a kind word to a friend or family member. You can share a spiritual hug when you offer a quiet prayer for a person in need. You can share a hug of faith when you offer a word of encouragement to someone who is discouraged or fearful or both. In short, you can share feelings of love and affection through your words, through your actions, and through your prayers."

"This book contains 365 inspirational readings that are intended to help you prepare your mind for the opportunities to give - and to receive - as many hugs as possible throughout the day. This text is also intended to make you smile and to make you think. It contains Bible verses, quotations, and brief essays - all of which can help lift your spirits and shape your day."

I really enjoyed reading this book. Each daily reading was very uplifting, encouraging and inspirational. I liked the mixture of bible verses, quotations, and brief essays. The combination was powerful, and helped to set the course of my days.

Below are some of my favorite quotes:

“To know God as He really is-in His essential nature and character-is to arrive at a citadel of peace that circumstances may storm, but can never capture.”
- Catherine Marshall

"God will never let you sink under your circumstances. He always provides a safety net, and His love always encircles." - Barbara Johnson

"A person's mind is not a container to be filled, but rather a fire to be kindled." - Dorothea Brande

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." - Corrie ten Boom

"If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humor."
- Jennifer Jones

"Getting things accomplished isn't nearly as important as taking time for love." - Janette Oke

"Life isn't a matter of milestones but of moments."
- Rose Kennedy

"I could go through this day oblivious to the miracles all around me, or I could tune in and 'enjoy'."
- Gloria Gaither

"Taking care of yourself physically really helps emotionally. People who get a lot of sleep, who do the things that relieve stress, can withstand a lot of stress." - Laura Bush

"We can do anything we want to do if we stick to it long enough." - Helen Keller

"Make God's will the focus of your life day by day. If you seek to please Him, you'll find yourself satisfied with life." - Kay Arthur

"When something robs you of your peace of mind, ask yourself if it is worth the energy you are expending on it. If not, then put it out of your mind in an act of discipline. Every time the thought of "it" returns, refuse it."
- Kay Arthur

"Today is mine. Tomorrow is none of my business. If I peer anxiously into the fog of the future, I will strain my spiritual eyes so that I will not see clearly what is required of me now."
- Elisabeth Elliot

"God goes before us, follows behind us, and hems us safe inside the realm of His protection."
- Beth Moore

"The only safe place is in the center of God's will. It is not only the safest place. It is also the most rewarding and the most satisfying place to be."
- Gigi Graham Tchividjian

"The Creator has made us each one of a kind. There is nobody else like us, and there never will be. Each of us is His special creation and is alive for a distinctive purpose." - Luci Swindoll

"God uses our most stumbling, faltering faith-steps as the open door to His doing for us 'more than we can ask or think.'" - Catherine Marshall

"Come up from the lowlands; there are heights yet to climb. You cannot do healthful thinking in the lowlands. Look to the mountaintop for faith."
- Mary McLeod Bethune

"Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered. No one was there." - Author Unknown

"The mind is like a clock that is constantly running down. It needs to be wound up daily with good thoughts."
-Bishop Fulton Sheen

"Wait before the Lord. Wait in the stillness. And in that stillness, assurance will come to you. You will know that you are heard; you will know that your Lord ponders the voice of your humble desires."
- Amy Carmichael

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
- Author Unknown

"When we bring sunshine into the lives of others, we're warmed by it ourselves. When we spill a little happiness, it splashes on us." - Barbara Johnson

There's a lot more where the above came from, so I definitely recommend this inspirational book. This book filled my heart with so much reassurance, hope, peace and joy. I will be reading it again and again for sure. It contains many spiritual and encouraging Hugs for Women.

WONDERFUL
Let me first start with a description of the book if you don't prefure to read about those detailed fell free to read below the hearts ❤️
When you open this devotional's front cover you'll be meet with a introduction note. Then you'll have a page for everyday of the year! At the top will be a heading of what day it is and the theam for the day in under five words. Below that will be a scripture of encouragement then you'll have a short sentiment, sometimes taking a famous female icon and using her life story or a quote of hers to help encourage you and your day! And finally at the bottom of the day's page will be a quote by someone famous or a famous saying. The pages are also thick and glossy and of high quality.
There is also a red ribbon bookmark attached to the book for an easy experience finding your place. While on the front cover the word HUGS is in red matalic shine (but do be careful because the constant touch of your hands can over time wear at the coloring).
I hoped that helped you with any questions you might have had regarding it's physical quality!📖

This is a very nice devotional. This was giving to me by a dear friend during a tough time, it made a beautiful gift. And it got me though a hard year of major spiritual growth. I dogeared the scriptures or quotes that ment a lot to me during the time.
Reading it through this present year for the second time was lovely as well however I would separate the years you read this one like just for an example I read it in 2019 and maybe a good time to come back to it would be 2024 in order for it to feel fresh and new again. But don't get me wrong I loved it then and I still do now, after all it will always be a landmark in my spiritual journey for it being my first devotional of my womanhood.

I have very good family and friends who have gifted me treasures like this devotional over the years. What I didn't realize at the time of the gift is how much more my life would be enriched by taking a few minutes each day to read a page and reflect on the deeper meaning of the topic or lesson. As I've been experiencing many of life's normal transitions and performing the routines of cleaning out and purging through "stuff" along the way, I am grateful to unearth lovely finds like Hugs. Reading through each day does truly feel like a big hug and sometimes provides that big "ah-ha" moment. There were more of those throughout this past year as I journeyed through Hugs. My routine has been to pass these gems to others when I've finished them. I'm especially excited to share this one!

This is my second time reading this book. It is a great way to begin my day. Reading quotes from Helen Keller, Anne Frank, Rosa Parks and Eleanor Roosevelt inspire me most, but there are so many others!

I enjoyed this devotional. Really liked the stories, quotes and the Bible references. It was uplifting and inspiring. I would buy more devotionals from this company and would recommend this to a friend.
