Ex-soldier Adam Strong has no idea the woman he met in the airport is an FBI agent or that he's part of her next assignment.
Abby Brookes is used to getting what she wants. She works hard for respect, locks terrible men behind bars, and is willing to cross professional boundaries for results. She's been given a new assignment, look out for her boss' civilian assets and investigate a rogue faction of the FBI. Will Abby be able to keep her secrets and her heart close to her chest? Or will she fall in love and be made into a liar? This is the third book in a series of seven standalone books. Each novel follows one of the heroes introduced in this book (Strong and his friends). Each hero gets his own HEA with the help of his friends. While there is a recommended reading order, each book can be read independently. This book does contain on page explicitly steamy scenes, cursing, and dark themes–which may be triggering–or inappropriate for younger readers.
Abby is a sexual assault survivor, who later joined the FBI sad an undercover agent who successfully used her body to seduce sexual predators to bring them to justice. The details of the human trafficking case, past and present, and Abby’s willingness to go to the extremes to catch the predators are difficult to read. She is an incredibly independent woman, talented, intelligent and so broken after all she has experienced. Her job is her lifeline and she doesn’t see anything outside her role as an undercover agent.
Adam is an ex-special forces operator who along with his former Army teammates and two of their girlfriends, have targeted identifying and bring down human trafficking groups. Adam is immediately attracted to Abby when they run into each other in the airport. She is exactly what he wants in a woman, and he’s seriously ready to find ‘The One’.
This story is pretty gritty along with the intensity of the storyline and the characters’ pasts. It was definitely engaging, and the sexual chemistry between Abby and Adam is sizzling. I enjoy suspenseful and intense storylines, but this one was just a tad too much for my enjoyment. It is still a very well written story and deserving of 4 stars.

Will this FBI agent lose her heart to the military veteran?
I absolutely love reading books by authors new to me. Abby & Adam's story definitely exceeded expectations & I did not want the book to end. If you love a slightly dark story that has romantic suspense, FBI, a military veteran, some very hot in between the sheets action with some cursing thrown in then K.W. Coleson has you covered with Liar. I highly recommend giving this story a read as it's part of a fantastic series. Definitely adding this author to my favourites list.

The deep topic of trafficking really makes you sympathize with those affected. Makes you understand Abby & her drive to right the world of such horrible men. Her method is hard to sallow. Her stubborn attitude at times just makes you want to yell at her & admire her too. Adam is someone to respect for he doesn't back down nor does he hide what he feels or think. A very action oriented story with a purpose & a HEA.

This book has some pretty large triggers surrounding trafficking.
Overall I enjoyed this book, Abby has such a passion for helping those taken by sex trafficking that she won't take a holiday. So when the opportunity comes up to holiday and help, who is she to refuse?
I like Adam and Abby together he had a strong possessive male vibe and she had strong independent woman which added some light relief to a book with heavy topics.

I was a little conflicted for my review and rating on this book. The plot and the action were very good, but the romance part kept me from loving it. Actually, the heroine was my issue. I understand that she is portrayed as a verys trong and badass woman, but i also found her insensitive and emotionless until almost the very end (she wanted to keep doing her job in the same way and he had to accept it, how about a compromise?), especially towards the Hero (who was a nice, emotional person). Because of this, i didn't connect with the romance, even though the book has steamy scenes. As far as plot, action and suspense it was extremely good.
