I never learn.
It was terribly clear from the synopsis that the misnamed The Perfect Plan wasn't going to be a masterpiece but I thought it might've been funny. I thought - the author must be able to see how far from a perfect plan this is. Maybe it's ironic. Maybe it's a parody. Maybe it'll be fun.
Uhh, no. I never learn.
Awkward present tense narration shows us a couple instantly "in love", despite no chemistry. A couple of scenes in bed and one on a boat do not make for a grand romance. What else is there to say? Hmm...
Stare and stair are not the same thing.
The alcoholic mother was an odd touch.
Fur coats are cruel.
It's stupid to hire a detective to find someone when you know where they work.
The word "daddy" is a ginormous turn off.
But hey, at least it was short.

A story about a waitress getting paid to get pregnant by a billionaire, the billionaire’s mother wants a grandchild and will pay her to give her one. The only thing that no one thought about is the two falling for one another and wanting to really be with each other.
The waitress is down on her luck, she has had to move several times all because of her mother and her alcoholic problem as well as going to get loans to cover her addiction. Her mother doesn’t even want her so the mother makes her life a living hell, she bullies her and sometimes puts her hands on her.
The billionaire works all the time, never having time to relax and have fun. After his father died he had to see his mother suffer through the tragedy so he decided he was never going to fall in love so he wouldn’t have to go through the same thing as his mother had to go through. His mother doesn’t want to see him lonely all of his life, she wants him to have someone and she wants to have grandchildren.
The mother of the billionaire goes to a diner where the waitress works and they have gotten to be friendly with one another. When the mother of the billionaire is there, some guys come in and claim that the waitress’s mother owes money, demanding payment but she doesn’t have it. The billionaire’s mother takes them outside to talk to them, taking care of the problem for the waitress. When she comes back, the waitress informs her that she will pay her back but the mother refuses payment. The mother makes her an offer, have sex with her son and get pregnant and she will pay her money for it.
When the waitress gets home, she and her mother talk about what the other mother asked her to do. Her mother’s drunk but still jumps her for not agreeing to it, telling her that she owes her. The waitress gets a hold of the billionaire’s mother and agrees to do it.
They meet on an island. The billionaire goes to his mother's room to check on her only to find the waitress there in a towel. Come to find out she had an accident and her clothes are wet and her luggage never showed up. They both have feelings from the moment their eyes meet. They gave each other oral sex, they were going to have sex but once he found out she was a virgin he stopped.
He was planning on going back home the next morning but she talked him into staying. Since she didn’t have any clothes he bought her some. They went on his boat and he showed her how to steer the boat. When he dropped the anchor they went swimming, when they got back on the boat she fell asleep when she woke up as a storm was overhead, he was steering with one hand and tending to the ropes with the other. When the storm was over and it was only raining he went to her, taking her to a pole and tieing her hands to it. He gives her oral sex before asking if she’s on the pill then having sex with her. She hated herself for lying to him. The two were getting even closer to each other, starting to have feelings.
When he got up he let her sleep in. He was going to go to the gym when he got a message from his mother, they messaged back and forth before his mother told him that she was going to be there tonight. The waitress woke up and they said their pleasantries, he told her about his mother coming tonight.
She was shocked and surprised, she wondered why the mother was coming. While he was getting everything ready for when his mother came she got messages from his mother but she never answered any of them, she paced the room. The two went to dinner with his mother, they talked for a while before the mother had her son go get her phone she forgot in her room. While he was gone the two women talked and the mother told her about her son falling in love with her. When he got back they found out his mother had her phone in her purse, his mother started talking when he told his mother not in front of his girlfriend, everything went quiet. The waitress made her excuses to go back to her room telling them she wasn’t well and wanted to be alone.
The billionaire knew something was wrong when she left, he was going to go check on her but she said she wanted to be alone. He goes into her room and the housekeeper is there. He finds out that she checked out earlier. Then he finds out that she talked to his mother before she left. He goes to his mother’s room finding her in the bathroom so he grabs her phone noticing the messages between the two. His mother comes out and they talk, she tells him the truth and that the waitress refused to take any money from her and that the waitress loves him.
Her friend from work offers her to give her a ride home but she refuses. Her friend leaves and she starts walking home. They had to move again because her mother got them evicted while she was gone. While walking some guys start on her cornering her before getting her up against a wall. That afternoon she took a pregnancy test that turned out positive. She tries to talk the guys out of hurting her, she looks down waiting for something to happen when all of a sudden she hears fighting and when she looks up the billionaire is there. They talk while they go to his care. He takes her home going up with her, when they get inside the apartment the place is a mess. Her mother wakes up going off on her. After a big confrontation the waitress tells her mother that she is leaving her and while she goes to get her things the billionaire pays for her mother never to talk to her again.
They go to his place, they talk and he takes her to his room where they have oral sex then make love. She tells him about being pregnant. They love each other. He falls asleep thinking that this is what heaven feels like.
Ten years later she’s in her office answering emails while downstairs they are celebrating the holidays as she finishes her last email her billionaire husband comes in then goes back to lock the door. Before she could heard her mother-in-law come and she had their son a pony. She runs three restaurants and they have another baby on the way. They tell each other that they love one another as he lifts her up and puts her on the edge of her desk.
Excellent characters which is a wonderful page turner and easy to read. Nicely written, a sweet steamy romantic happily ever after ending to the story.

This was a cute story. I felt that it could have been more flush out, but it has much potential.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Quinn works as a waitress in the local diner trying to keep her and her mother afloat but with her mum running up debts daily each day is becoming more of a struggle. Still Quinn manages to keep a smile on her face, its whilst she is serving her favourite customer Margaret that her life starts to implode, the men that her mother owes decide to visit her at the diner. Margaret offers her a chance to pay off all her debts and get out of the dire situation that she is currently facing, all she needs to do is seduce her son and give her the grandchild she so desperately wants. She at first rejects the offer but when her mum reminds her of what a disappointment that she and that this could be what saves them she reconsiders. She had never expected that she would meet Landon and catch feelings, falling in love was not meant to be part of the agreement and the more time they spend together the more she knows she is getting in too deep. Can Quinn separate her feelings from the agreement she made with Margaret or is it already too late, how will Landon when he learns the truth?
Landon has focused on work for so long he has no idea what a normal social life looks like and he cant remember the last time that he doesn’t any quality time with his mother, so when she demands that they take a trip together he knows that he cannot refuse so that is how he finds himself arriving at an exclusive holiday resort. Work is still on his mind when he arrives at the suite and finds Quinn and not his mother. Shocked and intrigued he decides to stay, there is something about her that draws him in and for a man that stays always from romantic entanglements this is unprecedented. But is this woman all that she seems, what is the truth of why she is in his life and will the truth destroy his chance at love and will he claim it before it is too late?
Cassi Hart creates characters that you can picture in each situation and that draw you in to the story and keep you invested. I loved both Quinn and Landon, Quinn was a sweet girl who was used to doing everything to make her mother happy and Landon was a man that had a neglected his mother and family for the sake of business. Enjoyable short read with plenty of heat. 4.5* Read.

Margaret tells Quinn that she will pay her a monthly allowance is Quinn seduces her son Landon and has a baby. Quinn’s mother tells her that she better do it for them.

I really enjoyed The Perfect Plan by Cassi Hart. The plot for this book was original and it intrigued me when I read the blurb. Basically, Cassi had my attention before I even started reading. I loved Quinn and Landon these two were so sweet together. There was a chemistry brewing between them from the moment they met. The only problem is that this whole thing is a setup by his mom Margaret because she was lonely and desperately wants a grandchild. So, she makes a deal with Quinn that will benefit them both.
Landon and Quinn meet for the first time when he enters the suite he believes his mom is staying in. Only to discover his mom is not there, but rather a beautiful woman who is standing in the middle of the room wearing just a towel. These two quickly find themselves in one another's arms sharing some very intimate moments. Everything is proceeding as planned until Quinn realizes she has true feelings for him. But, she isn't the only one with real feelings and it scares Landon. Now Quinn has a very important decision to make. Keep her deal with Margaret and earn enough money to solve her financial situation. Or, walk away with nothing because she is in love with Landon and can't hurt him like this...it doesn't feel right.

Quinn (24) a waitress at the town diner and has found herself in a situation where muscle men are hounding her down at work. Home life is rough, abusive and she supports her mother along with her debts. Quinn is in a hard place and decides to listen to Margaret and her proposition.
Landon, only child, has always been a workaholic and this is why his mother Margaret has invited him on an island vacation with her. He will do anything for his mother, since he only has work and her. He doesn’t ever want love so he doesn’t date, no need to find love just to lose it.
Cassi Hart has packed this book with so much detail for being 74 pages. I really didn’t want the story to end. Story contains toxic parent-verbal/physical/mental, alcoholism. One mother who will do anything for her child and another mother who has made her child’s life a living hell.

When an older woman approaches her at her work with a proposition to get pregnant by her billionaire son, she initially refuses. Her abusive mother finds out about the proposition and forces her to agree for the money.
Landon is completely focused on work and being as successful as possible. When his mother wants him to go an island vacation, he agrees for her. Surprisingly, he finds a half naked, beautiful woman inside his suite when he arrives. They are both attracted to each other and they seem to hit it off, but there is a lie standing between them. Can Landon forgive Quinn’s betrayal given that she’s in an impossible situation with no other way out?
This was a very emotionally charged romance where two people who are meant to be with one another have to face the challenges of interfering family. Very sweet, steamy and a bit of angst. Overall, a very well done and captivating read.

This is a super quick read.
Quinn is a hard-working waitress in a run-down part of town, struggling to make ends meet as she supports her alcoholic and abusive mother. She has a customer that she enjoys visiting with and the lady likes Quinn. The lady asks Quinn for a favor but she turns her down. But when her abusive and greedy mother hears of it she tells her she’s going to do it. So when his mother, the kind customer, sets up the encounter Landon is taken with the beauty. He knows she’s hiding something. While on the island she knows she has fallen in love and can’t take any money so she runs back home. While walking home she’s attacked and Landon is there to protect her. Their story is so fairytale like and enjoyable. Will make you sad and feel good.

Yes, this short novella is OTT but in a good way. It is a quick read. The MMC Billionaire workaholic is guilted into going on vacation with his mom but she pulls a switcheroo and sends the nice waitress who works at her favorite diner. Oh and did I mention she wants the nice waitress to seduce her son so she can have a grandchild? And Yes, MFC is down on her luck. The MMC Billionaire of course falls in love... Can Quinn find a way out of her deal and get her HEA, the answer is yes. Worth to the read to find out how it all plays out. Adorably sweet and steamy ❤️🔥
I generally don’t give 5 stars ✨ to short stories, but this story was simply enchanting. It’s a mini retelling of Cinderella without mice and stepsisters, but we do have a wicked alcoholic mother and she despises Quinn. Prince Charming is a workaholic billionaire and his mother is the fairy godmother. Everyone’s lonely for different reasons and Landon’s mother has found the perfect solution for them all. Read this delightfully steamy fairy tale, and of course it ends with an HEA. I did receive an ARC via Booksprout and I am leaving an unbiased review voluntarily.

The Perfect Plan is a good quick read. Quinn is a waitress struggling to make ends meet and support her mother. She has an opportunity to make a lot of money, but she's not really into it, and her mother pushes her into it. She meets Landon. Landon is a good guy. He spends most of his time working and doesn't have time for relationships. They have an instant connection and are sweet together, but meeting Landon isn't an accident; he's part of her making money. I was rooting for them because even though Quinn did some questionable things, she is really a good person.

The Perfect Plan is a deceptively daring short insta-love story with a scheming mother, a billionaire son, and the poor waitress he falls for. The female lead is so emotionally and physically beaten down, and the author nails that victim mentality very well. Instant chemistry-and chaos-ensues as the characters navigate the mother’s scheme. This well-written short story has plenty of steam and is an enjoyable lunch break read!
