A K-pop idol with a tiger spirit within A wizard in need of a familiar Their energies meld when they meet
Saem Is it possible for any human being to be so beautiful? I could stare forever at his delicate cheeks, large blue eyes, and silky skin. Wyn is beautiful and confident, and so fun and sociable. Being together is all I’ve ever wanted. But the danger lurks in our past and the present, and we must fight together to keep our bond alive.
Wyn My purple-loving, tall, breathtakingly beautiful Saem. I’ve been his fan forever. Just when we discover he’s my familiar and I’m his mate, the evil creature threatens both our lives. But I will risk everything to save my love and our future.
Sanang is a K-pop group composed of five idols with special abilities that fight against dark creatures. This is the second book in the Sanang series.
Arian lives in the nostalgic rainy city of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the US with their loving partner, five adorable stuffed penguins, all with their own proper names, and one imaginary Maine Coon cat.
They began writing romance novels in high school primarily to entertain their romance reading buddies, but it soon became their hobby and passion. They've just never been confident enough until later in their life to put themself out there.
They love to live in their own head and vicariously experience the lives of their characters. How else would they be able to live half a dozen lives at once?
They're grateful for their caring partner who’s been nothing but encouraging despite them spending hours inside their head.
This book was so good. I love Saem & Wyn! Saem is such a good leader. He takes care of the guys even though he doesn't need to. His tiger is such a fiesty thing. Their dynamic was great. How they interacted with each other and how they reacted to Wyn was so cute. Wyn is adorable. The way he reacted when he first became aware what Saem is to him was touching. He tried so hard to please Saem & his tiger. His backstory was so heartbreaking. You just wanted to hug him and make it better. Our main antagonist Imugi is after our guys again and this time his focus is on Wyn. Definitely recommend continuing on with this series. In this one you get tiger spirits & time travel.
I'm very conflicted after finishing this book. On the one hand, I absolutely loved the time traveling, magic-filled adventure Saem and Wyn went on. As scary and life-threatening as most of the events of the book were, it was so cool to learn about tiger spirits and see history unfold in front of their eyes. I was as engaged as ever in the fight against the Imugi, and boy was it especially creepy to see how infectious the Imugi's presence could be mentally. I believed in the mate connection Wyn and Saem shared, and in the midst of all the chaos it warmed my heart to know that these two had each other no matter what happened. But I really did not like the way the story ended. I'm no stranger to cliffhanger endings, but I wouldn't call this a cliffhanger as much as I'd call it an incomplete plotline. After going through so much mental and emotional turmoil, I wanted Wyn and Saem to push through to the other side and have a chapter or two to bask in peace and safety before the next big threat. To end things right after Wyn wakes up, without any resolution to the fate of Saem's original tiger spirit or Bin's spiritual journey, felt rushed and incomplete, and I'm sad because it doesn't seem like these couples get more than one book in this series (if the last book is any indication). I wanted the ending of this story to leave me content but excited to see what would happen next, and instead I'm just uncertain and doubting that these characters are safe at all. I'm still enjoying the overarching story enough to continue reading, but I'm really hoping the next book brings more satisfaction in the romance.
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Not quite a full-length novel but it's a now "familiar" series that I didn't hate. And not all my reservations and observations from the first book applied here. In a few ways, this one was better. It others... well, it still didn't actually reached the true potential of the idea(s).
To make long stories short...
- the tiger is supposed to be the wizard's familiar, blurb said so and that's... practically misleading, there is zero scenes of that happening - it's basically just a buzzword and I was looking forward to that aspect - I'd go as far as saying the whole wizard thing was unrepresented - tiger shifter got several scenes being cute or impressive but the other half was mostly just putting up shields or transporting, it was decisively... unmagical? - K-pop thing is not even a background, it just keeps them occupied when they're not hunting (or makes them more tired), like some kind of hobby you see in... one scene? Very briefly? - another romance, less drama, maybe, but without spoiling too much, half of the book is concerned with helping 1st MC, second is for, you guessed it, helping 2nd MC since it¨s another fast connection relationship - the overall fight with Big Bad Guy is constantly pushed back in time for obvious reasons - the individual couples have to get together and this was just couple number two - less naked time, which was appreciated, though the reason was a bit... strange
Overall, it was a nice novel, but I can't help seeing space for more but onca again, if a romance with some para/Asian spice is what you're after, this one is for you.
This is the second in the Sanang series, it's a direct follow on from the first book, but does feature a different couple this time.
I really enjoyed the first book, following on with the world building steeped in Korean myth and history, and as it's something I know nothing about, I'm really enjoying that aspect of this series. Saem is a tiger shifter, and Wyn is a wizard, and again it's fated mates and an almost instant bond between the two. I liked that Wyn recognised Saem as his familiar, just as Saem recognised Wyn as his mate. I liked the relationship between the two, while it was an instant bond, it wasn't instant love. My only slight negative is that the idea of Saem being asexual could have been explored a bit more, instead it was almost brushed away when he got his new tiger spirit, and that was a shame as that was something a little different too.
I am loving the development of the story arc with the Sanang and Netru groups chasing after Imugi and I like that it's developing slowly across the books. I did get a little lost with all the characters though 😂 (yeah, that's probably just me).
Overall I really enjoyed this, I'm enjoying the series and looking forward to seeing which couple will be next, I think there were a couple hints in there.
Saem is a tiger shifter who's tiger is fading away. He needs to find another tiger to bond with to stay alive. Wyn is a wizard and Saem's mate. He's pumping his energy into Saem to keep him alive until another tiger can be found to bond with Saem. There's no tigers in the present time due to a time shift anomaly, so they and their friends go back in time to find one and fix the anomaly as well. Will they be able to find a tiger and fix the anomaly in time or will Saem and Wyn perish trying?
This is a well thought out and written story. I was pulled into it from page one and read the book straight through. The world and character building is intriguing and paints a vivid picture. The chemistry between the MCs and their friends is felt. The connection Saem and Wyn have brings them closer to each other and their inner selves too. The time travel parts are really interesting. This is the best book of the series so far IMO. Looking forward to reading more in the series.
Saem is a member of Sanang, a K-Pop group whose members all have special abilities to help fight those nasty creatures in the world, Korea in particular. Saem finds Wyn, a wizard, to be fascinating. He adores everything about him. Wyn returns that adoration and realizes that Saem and his tiger spirit are his familiar and his mate. They do come together but an evil creature is threatening both their past and their present. They will need all the skills of Sanang as well as many others to survive.
Wyn is a very strong wizard while Saem carries a tiger spirit within. Together they are quite strong, but not strong enough to fight the evil that is trying to rip apart both past and present. The Tasier members also help as well as the group of men who have also sworn to fight evil. It is incredible to read when we discover that each of the members of Sanang have talents that are not always known to others. Arian Williams brings in so many facets of the Korean culture making the reading so rich and intriguing. The ending left me wanting the next story right then and there.
I enjoyed the first book of the series with some reservations but I really enjoyed booked two! The series plot is definitely starting to properly build and each team member is starting to come into their own more. Saem and Wyn were thankfully not slow to recognise their connection and their actual relationship was pretty much angst free. It was lovely to see them simply be thankful for each other. That being said there was a fair bit thrown at them and they both unfortunately suffered at the hands of the Imugi. Despite that they stayed devoted to each other and that devotion and willingness to fight let them come through the other side only slightly worse for wear (though I think there may still be some healing to be done from what happened at the hands of others). I have a feeling I know whose book will be next and I’m looking forward to it!
This is a continuation of the story from Sanang #1, but centering around a new couple. If you did not read book 1, you will be really confused.
I liked learning about Wyn and Saem. Wyn is really old, 1500yrs. He's more focused on the present since things didn't go well for him in the past. While he's seen a lot, he chooses to focus on the now which makes him seem much younger. I also was grateful that the story didn't get bogged down trying to tell his history.
Saem goes through some traumatic stuff in this book. And while there is a lot I want to say, too much is spoilery. But I will say I liked the idea that sharing a body with a spirit may impact how the body functions/reacts to things. But in Saem's case, he's had the tiger for so long, he doesn't know or see those distinctions.
This is the second book in the series and we get not only a new couple coming together but we learn more about Korean culture and it's history in relation to this fictional work as I am woefully ignorant about the subject I can't tell if it is truth or not. However it was very interesting to read. This book takes place in two timelines with most of the group going back to the fifteenth century, where the Imugi has put things in the future in jeopardy. The couple falling in love Wyn and Saem are well suited to each other, are sweet and very caring, but their road is not easy. This series is getting better as it progresses and the action is heating up. I look forward to the next book with anticipation.
An intriguing new story in this series. Like with the first book, I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and references to Korean culture and myths. Adventure and danger continue to follow Sanang, and this time Saem and Wyn are at the heart of it all. There’s more to discover about Imugi, who is still an impressive, and often elusive, enemy. Ooh and the tigers! Loved them! Can’t say more without spoiling things. Saem and Wyn are easy to like and root for. I would have liked to see even more of Saem and Wyn together, growing closer as a couple. Their love is strong, but it comes on fast. Very curious to find out what will happen next in the series.
This is book two in the Sanang series, and picks up after book one, with the focus this time on a new couple, Saem (tiger shifter) and Wyn (wizard). Their relationship is built on a fated mates connection, and the events of the story are steeped in the mystery, magic, action and lore that is developing over the course of the series (no spoilers, since those are the worst, but it makes for an immersive reading experience, and there’s clearly more world building and other events and revelations to come, even after these two get their HEA. )
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Never let your past defeat you, stay strong. Saem and Wyn, secretly crushed on each other. When they started moving toward each other, an enemy oozed in and caused difficulties. Saem, is part of the band, who are protective warriors with extra abilities. They each have baggage they drag from their pasts. They are challenged at each step and must work at their relationship and work on defeating the enemy. This book has lots of action and adventure to keep the reader riveted and engaged. Can they defeat the enemy? do they have a bond? Do they get time to build and salvage their relationship? Good story. Nice world building. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in the series about the Sanang K-pop boy band. Like the first book of the series, it’s another novel full of action, mystery, magic, romance, and a HEA. In this book, we follow Saem, another member of the K-pop band and warrior, who’s also a tiger shifter, and his mate/familiar, Wyn, who’s a warrior and a wizard. The book was full of surprise twists and turns, and I could not predict what would happen next. The couple takes on new conflicts on their overall journey to defeat the imugi. My only minor complaint is that this author writes characters that suffer from problems that could likely be resolved by just talking to each other. The major conflict of this story is fully resolved, but like the first book, the process to defeat the imugi is ongoing. I felt fully satisfied by the HEA ending for the couple. I love this series so much. It’s definitely a 5-star read that I will reread many times in the future.
I literally couldn't read this book quick enough once it it hit my Kindle, and now I'm left waiting for book 3!!!
As per book 1, this is a feast of magnificent details, tigers, spirits, good and evil, portals, tranquilisers, energy transfers, love, dragon recovery, friendship, brotherhood, and generally nice people working together for a better world.
I totally love these books, and anything from Arian Williams and subsequently recommend this series for your Kindle today. xx
I received a copy of this book from the author and provide my honest review voluntarily
Tiger Roaring is the second book in the Sanang series. I definitely recommend reading the series in order to get the feel for the story. Tiger Roaring features Saem and Wyn. Saem is a tiger shifter and Wyn a wizard and fated mates. Wyn has been a fan of Saem and Sanang, the k-pop group he is part of. But he is more than that, he’s also a hunter looking for the dark imugi. Saem’s tiger is fading away and they must fight to save it. At the same time Wyn is funneling his power to Saem. The story is fantastic, well written with pacing that sucked me right in. I literally couldn’t out it down.
This is definitely a romance that stands the test of time! Time Travel and all! I was fascinated by the mixing of the two timelines and all the characters and how everything interchanged. I enjoyed that were twists and plot surprises. There is a lot of vivid world building in this Korean setting. Saem and Wyn were beautifully stunning together. They have a fantastic chemistry and communicate through all the challenges. There are tons of side characters we are getting to know so looking forward to the next couple as we continue!
I enjoyed this action-packed and exciting story, but I would have liked to see more of the relationship building between Saem and Wyn. They are are Fated Mates, so maybe the author thought that was enough. Both MCs are sexy and sweet, and easy to root for. (There are some wonderful sweet and sexy times.) Like the first book, this is a part of an overarching series struggle, which isn't done, but there is a satisfactory conclusion for Saem and Wyn. This book is the second in the series, and I recommend reading them in order for greatest understanding and enjoyment.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
A fabulous follow up to Dragon Awakening. Imugi is still continuing to cause havoc for the men of Sanang and Netru and they are forced to time travel. It was interesting to see Saem and Wyn develop their bond as we learn their fated mates but in a different way than Sen and Mireu. This was a much more emotional read for me than book 1 as Saem and Wyn had no time at all to enjoy their mating I felt before trouble hit. I am really intrigued by this series. Can’t wait for the rest of Sanang to find their HEA! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Saem and Wyn POV's brings to us the continuation of this adventure where the danger increases and the mystery thickens as the enemy brings new complications that threatens our characters lives. You'll encounter sweetness, happiness as well as hurt, devastation and desperation as the evil gains power and is thwarting our characters efforts in gaining the upper hand. It was an intense read and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
There is something wonderfully fantastical about this series. It may be about a k-pop group with powers but it feels like reading a fantasy. Maybe it is the lyrical descriptions of the Korean countryside... maybe it is all the characters who have lived through history. Maybe it is the feel of old world meets new world as the characters grow together. Either way it makes for a beautiful read. Watching Wyn and Saem grow together was so much fun and don't worry there were lovely smexy times. And the overarching story continues.
This is another amazing book by Arian Williams. It continues the story of the groups that are working together to defeat the dark Imugi, but it focuses on another couple. You definitely should read book 1 first to be able to better follow the story. Be prepared for twists and turns as Saem and Wyn find love and work with their friends to fight the danger. As always, Arian's storytelling and writing keep you turning the page, and you won't want to put this book down.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.
Don't let the fact that this is about a K-pop group keep you from picking this series up, even if you have no idea what K-pop is. We have group members with special powers finding their fated mates while fighting a great villain. This book is Wyn and Saem's story, a wizard and a tiger shifter. The characters make a great couple and the world building is a fantastic blend of real Korea with fantasy Korea.
I am loving the series! The K-Pop group is in danger again. Wyn is the target now, but he has his protector. Saem is awesome. Together they make a great couple. Meanwhile, the bad guy is doing his best to inflict pain. I enjoy the world building. It’s so creative and the mystery plus the time traveling rock.
This is the second book in the Sanang series. This is Saem and Wyns story. I love both of these guys so much. I also like that we get to learn more about Korean culture and history as it relates to this world and work of fiction. Saem is a tiger shifter and Wyn is a wizard. This book is set in two timelines. I couldn't put it down once I started it. I would definitely recommend it.
This is the story of Saem and Wyn. It is the 2nd book in the Sanang series. I love the world the author created and every book is a wonderful adventure. The action, humour and love they have for each other keeps you turning the pages. I adore these characters. Definitely recommended.
I received this book as an Arc and I am happily reviewing it voluntarily.
I liked this book, but was a bit disappointed that some of the relationship-building and romance was delayed by one or the other of the MCs being unconscious. I also had a hard time keeping all the characters straight, especially when they would break off into groups to do something. I like shifter books, so this take on how Saem got his animal was interesting. Recommended!
I am loving the Sanang guys! I want to give Saem (especially at the beginning) all the hugs. He's so sweet and cute. I really like seeing Saem and Wyn together and seeing them be there for the other. I am very curious to see the other guys' stories as well. I think we're getting hints so I definitely want those stories!
