#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.

Kelly's stalker gets dangerous and seriously, it is gruesome, as in think of some horror slasher films gruesome.
But we do get a conclusion, which of course opens up to Phoenix's buddies storyline. I have some reading to do! Damn, Hardt knows how to grab your attention!

Leif (Phoenix) is Kelly’s protector, along with all the other girls in the building, along with the girls living there that were on the island. The Wolfe’s have security there, too. He is in love with her. She is still dealing with threatening texts and her time on the island and her childhood. Can Kelly ever get over these hurdles that hold back her emotions? This story is full of suspense and mystery, with love and steam on the side. It’s a heartbreaking story and heartwarming at the same time. Twist and turns in every chapter make this book full of anticipation and intrigue. Sorry to see this series has come to an end.
Leif and Kelly’s story ended in dramatic fashion and was a perfect ending to this part of the series. In a way I’m glad to be done reading the disturbing parts of these stories, because lates face it, they were gut wrenching and disturbing on many levels. I love everything Helen writes about, even if it’s hard to read because it makes my insides clench and get queasy. But isn’t that the point of an amazing author? To evoke feelings from their readers? Once again, I have nothing but praise for this book and I cant wait to read the new series hinted at in the end of this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rise and Rise again like the Phoenix from the Ashes...
Saving the best for last definitely applies to this series. The conclusion to Leif and Kelly's story has come to an end. I am positive we have not seen the last of these amazing characters.
Kelly cannot seem to escape her past. There is someone still making deadly threats against her. Leif is finding himself helpless to try to stay ahead of the danger and protect her.
This journey was definitely an eye opener with a climatic ending. We are teased with a new series in the works and I am looking forward to see what Helen has up her sleeve this time.
Helen, you keep me on my toes!! Was shell shocked learning who the Dark One is!!!! Poor Kelly, having such a horrible childhood. Leif loving all of her and crushed that he failed in protecting her. Both lost souls who lived through horrendous ordeals. Made me laugh our loud when the name Hilton comes up and Kelly’s question, lol. (Trying not to have any spoilers, read the book). The ending was perfect!! Looking forward to Falcon’s story!
Kelly and Phoenix have been through some extremely difficult times separately and then together. They help the other heal from the hell that’s been their life. Helen Hardt sure does know how to put her readers through all the emotions while making each book so much better than the previous one. I can’t get enough of the Wolfe’s of Manhattan stories or the off shoots from them. Awesome work Helen Hardt! Please keep them coming as long as possible
Danger escalates to violence around Kelly and Leif. Both experience many vivid memories of traumatic past events. Their tumultuous relationship evolves with passion and ultimately love as they endeavor to solve the source of this obsession, twisted feelings and evil.
Perfect day to enjoy reading. Phoenix had way more suspense than the other books in my opinion. It kept me on the edge of my seat while reading it. Loved all the twists and turns for Phoenix and Kelly. Have to see if I can get the Sin series for their story to be continued. I sure hope so. Great read.
Helen Hardt you've done it again. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Leif and Kelly.this might be the last book of The Gems of Wolfe Island. I have a gut feeling we haven't seen the last of any of the characters in these series.
Helens books have never let me down . Leif and Kelly finally got what they deserve. I recommend Helens books because she keeps me on edge right to the end.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I was really happy that everything turned out for then. I was glad Kelly mother didn't get any money from the estate.
Did not see that reveal coming. It does not explain how the villain was able to get such access to Kelly, in spite of the heightened security. But, all is well that ends well.
Best book in the series. Once again Helen Hardt delivers a thrilling, suspenseful, all-consuming and addictive book that I could not put down! 5 Stars!
Helen Hardt is a talented writer. I have loved all of her series I've read so far and won't stop reading them any time soon. And another series begins......😍
Phoenix is book 6 and draws an end to the series of The Gems of Wolfe Island.
Kelly has been through so much in life already, from the way she was raised, to currently receiving threatening text messages, from some unknown person. But, her protector Leif Ramsey, will do whatever he has to, to keep her safe. Kelly however wants to protect herself. Show she is strong enough to stand on her own two feet. That is, until the treats turn more menacing.
Twists. Turns. Ups. Downs. Love and Danger, it's all inside this book.
Helen Hardt, as always writes a book that will intrigue all your senses.
I give this book 5 huge stars and recommend it to every single person, who has read the previous Gems of Wolfe Island books. If you haven't, OMG, you have got to get on it ASAP...
P.S. There's a new upcoming series announcement and teaser at the end. Savage Sin, coming soon.
