Merle and Pearl have been separated! While Pearl is back with the Gomez family, Merle finds himself scurrying through the Holy Land with Dave, a honey-loving, talking lizard. Together, Merle and Dave must brave the perils of the Israeli wilderness in the hopes of reuniting Merle with his friends and foiling Dr. Simon's evil plan. Get ready for more daring escapes, hilarious jokes, and squirrel origami as Merle and Pearl try to make their way back to each other. Will they find each other before Dr. Simon does?

Readers will learn about Jesus calling his disciples and the Kingdom of God.

About the author

As co-creator of Veggie Tales, co-founder of Big Idea Entertainment, and the voice of the beloved Larry the Cucumber, Mike Nawrocki has been dedicated to helping parents pass on wholesome values to their kids through storytelling for over two decades. Mike currently serves as the artist in residence at Lipscomb University, where he is also pursuing an MFA in writing and directing for film. The Dead Sea Squirrels is Mike's first children's book series, which he has been delighted to write from the home he shares with his wife, Lisa, and their two children in Franklin, Tennessee.

Another silly squirrel adventure with Merle, Pearl and a whole gang of other characters. My kids enjoyed the book, and are looking forward to the 12th book in the series.

Great book for 10 and under. Good for read aloud. Cute story…we have stuck with the whole series and keep getting more to see what happens.

I loved the part where Dave and Merle ate all the dates lol. Also the nod to Captain Underpants where the girl says to her disbelieving mother “There’s a squirrel riding on the back of a baby camel” was pretty funny.
