Liminal is a poignant snapshot of words left unsaid, love that could have been, and the black hole that grief can leave in one's heart. Despite this, the story ends on a note of hope, which allows the narrator to have a new beginning despite the pain and trauma. The prose is poetic and song-like, and the use of the second person is perfect for the confessional tone of the piece.
