Some days, Nora Malone feels like the grief from losing her husband is starting to become manageable. Other days, navigating the big emotions from her young boys, breaks her heart all over again.
While trying to get accustomed to life as a family of three, Nora finds herself face to face with someone from her past – Luca D’Marco. He was her first love, but also the one who walked away all those years ago without any explanation.
Never let an old flame burn you twice, advice Nora’s heard before, and probably should follow. But when anonymous bouquets of lilies appear, shrouding her fragile family in darkness, Luca is the spark that tempts her to let her guard down enough to let him back into her life.
With each flower left, Nora’s unease grows. No longer the symbol of sympathy they once held after her husband’s death, they’ve become a warning she can’t seem to decipher.
Can Nora figure out how Luca, lilies, and her own secrets are connected before it’s too late to keep her family safe?
In this suspense-filled debut novel, author Andrea Lawless reminds readers that there’s danger in keeping secrets.
**This book deals with tough issues and is written for adults.
Personally, I loved this book & can't wait for the next one to come out! The storyline was engaging and intriguing. This was a page turner for sure. There are some touchy subjects throughout the book so I would encourage anyone who may be triggered by certain events to do some research before reading. It is written by a self published author & is her first book so there are some spell check & grammatical errors but I encourage you to look past those as I really think this book is amazing!
I did not want to put this book down! Andrea does such a great job of drawing you in with the relatable romance of a first love but then she’s adds in suspense and mystery to keep you following. She provides a playlist/soundtrack to listen to throughout the book, which is something I have never experienced! The soundtrack really adds to experiencing the feelings of the story. I cannot wait to read the next book of the series!
I liked the story a lot- not crazy about the ending and hoping there is a sequel. I will comment that there were quite a few typos in the book which I found weird.
