This book grabs you right on the first page with Harper Montgomery waking with a vision. A vision that is happening now, not in the future. A child is in danger and she has to help.

When Detective Miles Barrett gets the call about a body, I had to chuckle, his cat Phoebe is a typical cat especially when disturbed. However, the body is intimately connected to the other cases they've been looking into.

When Harper manages to rescue the child and get her to the hospital, she's not totally truthful with the detectives. She can't tell them about her visions, the reactions she's had in the past are proof of that.

When Miles goes to interview Harper further, their attraction is immediate and they both manage to suppress it. There could be nothing between them until this case closes anyway.

As the investigation goes forward the leads are few and far between, Miles intercepted a reporter who was hoping to figure out who helped the girl and stopped him from looking further into the vet clinic staff.

He also finds himself unable to put Harper out of his mind so when he goes for a run and spots her, he joins her run. They agree to also have breakfast together as they continue their run. That's delayed when they come upon an injured swan.

I was pretty impressed with Harper's skills, swans aren't known as very friendly birds, but then her gift is helpful there. She's really hoping her involvement with Miles' investigation is done, she doesn't want to tell the detectives about her visions. Unfortunately, that's not to be and Miles' reaction is just what she'd expected.

From the start there has been chemistry between Miles and Harper and as the story continues this goes from a simmer to sizzle. The investigation also book just ramps up and there are several twists to keep you guessing right to the end.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Usually a fan of Reasor’s military suspense novels these paranormal thrillers were a different read. The town of Superstition has a secret population with supernatural abilities. They tend to support each other when necessary and protect their secrets. When women are dying and Harper has visions about the victims police fear she may be next. Harper is a vet with a special bond to identify the animal’s illness. I really liked her character, intelligent, strong, no nonsense but yet vulnerable. There are three books in the series but each one is a different couple and story, they just occur in Superstition. I was given an advanced copy by the author and have provided my review voluntarily.

What a great book! This author definitely does a great job setting the scene and bringing you along for the ride. The town (Superstition, KY), the characters and our animal friends bring this story to life. How could you not fall for Gabby and her Woo-woo and Phoebe as well. I really loved Harper and Miles and the story is great especially when at one point I thought I had a handle on the perpetrator and then something else came into play and I thought that might be a possibility. Definitely a page turner. I’m intrigued by Superstition, KY and the other’s I met in this story and need to pick up the first two books in this series. I wanted more story, it ended too quickly for me.

Deep Within the Mind is an intense and awesome paranormal romantic suspense novel. Each book of the Superstition Series can be read as a standalone but there is overlap of characters among the stories that adds an element of warmth that I love about Teresa Reasor's writing.
Harper Montgomery uses her psychic ability to help diagnose the animals that come into the veterinary service where she works with great success, but now visions from the human world slam into her mind and can't be ignored even though she has seen how reacting to those visions can turn a person into a freak in the eyes of the community.
If only those visions would stop with the little girl, Harper might get away with acting as the helpful bystander. Unfortunately, evil has hit her town and isn't ready to leave.
I requested and received and ARC from author Teresa Reasor. I have long been a fan and never want to wait for her books. I shared my love of her books long before I requested my first ARC.

Its been a while since visiting Superstition, Kentucky. Last time I was here it involved to twin sisters who were also witches. The normal citizens of Superstition don't know that they live surrounded by witches and psychics and wolf shifters who all work normal everyday jobs.

Harper Montgomery is vet. What no ones knows is she is also psychic whose many abilities also include being able to heal. One night she has a vision that connects her to child who is being abducted by a man covered in blood.

Turns out she has tuned into a viscous serial killer.

Detective Miles Barrett is not originally from Superstition and doesn't know about the paranormal part of the town. He is attracted to Harper and when she saves the child he decides maybe its time to make a move. But as the killer keeps killing women and Harper keeps getting visions she deicdes to tell Miles the truth about herself which he doesnt handle well at first.

If you like paranormal romance along with police procedural give this series a try..
