This is an energetic book about an ordinary day in the life of a four-year-old with three siblings. They get up, they eat breakfast, they go to school, spend time with their friends in day care and play and they then spend evening time with their parents. The prose is rhythmic, rhyming, and easy to remember. The illustrations are brightly colored with either the use of watercolor or some form of a brush stroke design in which the colors mix today smoothly. There is also some use of sketch like drawings. The reading level of this book is simple and I would gear this book to preschoolers and possibly kindergarten but nothing higher then that in grade level. This book truly reflects the activities of young ones and all of the "problems" little ones may feel that they have. I personally would not have this book in my classroom due to what age group its aimed at but for a daycare setting it would be a good read aloud book or for moms with young 2-5 year olds. Jill Kastner (the illustrator) did a great job and creates images that make readers remember her such as the little kid inspired designs.
