Seven years ago, I went missing from my house. A house covered in secrets, lies, betrayals, and blood. There were no clues, it seemed as if I’d just disappeared. Everything that belonged to me remained, my purse, my phone. My life. I just vanished. Everyone speculated if I was alive or dead, if I was kidnapped or ran away. Except him. He was tormented by my ghost, his guilt, and the memories. He still is. Sometimes, even when the horror ends, it does not go away.
Amazing story that gave me an emotional ride, paired with spectacular characters. Black Tuesday was an unexpected story, totally threw me with the storyline. Going in blind, which I love to do, without any assumptions, gave me an attention grabbing story from page one and kept me glued until the end. This couples relationship, bouncing back and forth between now and 7 years ago, was captivating in the sense that you felt like you were watching and living through the characters eyes. Nadine has written a beautiful story full of emotion and a plot that flows perfectly. I recommend this delightful story!
Mystery, Steam, Wrong side of the tracks, Second Chances, Suspense, Betrayal Black Tuesday has it all
Seven years later and Zac is still searching for answers to what happened to Telulah She was going to be his forever - Now he is back home and back where it all started Small town with small minds make his return even harder than the memories But he will find the answers even if he loses his mind doing it
Seriously this is one of those reads that will keep you guessing Not only are the characters absolutely amazing (I hope Tyler gets his own story) but the storyline draws you in keeping you just on that edge without letting you go over Each turn of a page brings something new to the story - Never sure who to trust - What is real or not Then just when you think you know The town sheriff shows up (I'm not telling)
This is a suspenseful second chance high-steam romance that will stay with you long after you close the final page
Black Tuesday absolutely delivers!! With its amazing whodunit suspense that kept me guessing, and the love and hot chemistry that Zac and Lulu shared, this book was fan-freaking-tastic! There were so many twists and turns, hidden plot points, and secret agendas, and just when I thought I had figured it all out, something else proved me wrong yet again. I really, really hope there's a future book with Ty's story!
Wow, I always know that this author delivers amazing books, but this one had me all up in arms trying to figure it out. It was suspense from start to finish with some spice.
Zach and Telulah did not have an easy love story. It was full of drama and trauma. I kept wondering how this was going to turn out and I had a couple surprises. This one is hard to describe and not give spoilers. Believe me, you don’t want this angsty story spoiled.
I was excited for this story. The story of Zachary & Telulah. It starts out giving us there back story and than goes to the present time. I enjoyed reading it. It has mystery, friendship, love and great twist you never seen coming. The twist at the end of story was amazing. It blew me away. Ty was a great friend to both Zachary & Telulah. He was there for Zachary when he needed him.
This was pretty fun and very gothic, I liked the beginning a lot better than the last 50% of the book. It was intriguing, but it was also fairly surface level and a little predictable. This feels like a debut book, and I just wish that it had a little more depth to it. Still enjoyed though! 3.75/5 ⭐️ 3/5 🔥
“Because this is perfect. You and me, here, under the stars. Nothing else exists, Zac. It’s like tonight is the end of something. Tonight needs to be remembered as something special. You are my special, Zachary Stone. I want you to be for the rest of my life.”
Black Tuesday was a captivating, intense and suspenseful romance between childhood friends, Zac and Telulah. Two kids from opposing lifestyles and families, but they fit together. We were taken on a journey of past and present, from different POV’s developing the characters into relatable people. An unpredictable and incredible storyline that kept me in the dark until all was revealed. What began as young love, turned into a tragedy and a never ending hope for answers. The levels of light and dark were perfectly interwoven between the mystery, friendships and passion.
They skirt around their true feelings for years until Lulu takes control. Zac senses that something is off about Lulu as he watches her actions carefully. Then tragedy strikes and he holds himself responsible because he knew that she needed him, but he let her go inside. After returning from military duty he buys her family home. Hoping he can find some answers hidden between the walls whilst remodelling. Not everyone is happy to see him return though and Detective Peters won’t be happy until he’s put him behind bars for good. With a father who’s always high and up to no good, the community treat Zac like he’s someone unworthy. His bestie Ty who comes from a respected family has always had his back, although he loves to push his buttons. Together they try to get some answers but keep hitting roadblocks until their past comes back with some clues. What happened that fateful night?
This is a story that will keep you totally guessing right up til the end and even beyond.
Zachary has come back to the small town he grew up in and the place that still haunts him everyday of his life. It's the town where his best friend and the love of his life went missing, never to be heard from again. Oh and he's the one everyone seems to think did away with her, her mother and killed her father.
Telulah is the beautiful girl with the perfect family life until one night it all goes wrong. Escaping something and never knowing exactly what for years would drive anyone crazy but Telulah just got stronger and stronger until it was time to come back and find out just what happened to destroy her family.
This story was one that once I started reading I could not stop. My mind would race wondering what was going on and how everything was playing out. It's been a very long time that a story has grabbed my attention and caught my mind up so much I had to finish reading the whole book in one sitting. The most intreaging part was the fact I had to go back and reread the last chapter to make sure the ending was what I thought I read. I was so captivated, and mind blown by this book I wish I could give it more than a 5 star review. No one can make you rethink a story like Nadine Catalano. She has an amazing, twisted and emotional way of telling a story that just pulls you in and keeps you entertained til the end.
Let me start out with a huge congratulations to Ms. Catalano on this wonderful, twisted and delicious release. From the first page to the last I was completely engrossed with this story. The flash backs were perfectly timed with just the right amount of backstory to contribute to the present storyline.
Zachary Stone and Telulah May Ascott grew up together. Zac, from the wrong side of town, and Lulu, the daughter of a cop. None of the stares or whispers regarding their friendship matter to them. The monday before that fateful day brought that friendship into something more but then Black Tuesday ripped it all away.
As you read about Zac’s journey of trying to heal and figure out what happened that day, we learn about his love for Lulu, how deep it really was and how far he will go to find her and once he does, to protect her.
“She was beautiful before. Now she’s sin and salvation, and I know I would sacrifice myself for her without hesitation.”
Welcome back Ms. Catalano! Congratulations again on an epic return novel!!
What an amazing story. This will definitely keep you fully engaged, and stick with you afterward.
Telulah May Ascott and her mother are simply gone with no trace. Left behind are Zachary, who is accused of foul play, and Ty who rounded out their trio. We get the story ‘today” and return to the earlier years closer to the event leading up to the disappearance and afterward. We gain insight into the characters and the repercussions of the disappearance.
Zachary cannot let this go, and goes so far as to buy Telulah’s old family house. As he faithfully restores it we begin to gain further clues into what happened all those years ago. This will not end how you expect. The journey for the reader is memorable and exciting. Quite the read, which I can highly recommend.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
This is a dark romance but it grabs your emotions from the start and just won't let go! Zachary and Tallulah were best friends and even more than that, they meant everything to each other. But then she disappeared and Zach was left with no answers. When he comes home from the military, he buys her family home and hopes to find the answers to what happened to her. There is so much to this story, and I don't want to say a lot because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. But there are twists and turns that I didn't see coming along with characters that will grip you and make you want to know more about them. I loved it from start to finish!!
Wow!...WOW!!...WWWOOOWWW!!! This book left me stunned and practically speechless. Seductively dark and tantalizingly twisty, this book will squeeze your heart in a fierce grip, as it plays games with your mind. This deviously decadent tale is captivating and consuming, so be sure to prepare for the lost hours of sleep ahead. This is my candid, volitional review.
Epic, dark, thrilling, page turning and gripping. I can count on this author always giving me a story that has me stunned. Never predictable. Always hard to put down. One of my top reads on the year!
I went into this blind and I was addicted from the very first page what an outstanding story that had me memorized, the characters are exceptionly written its like your right there with them and the emotion that you can feel coming off them in waves.
My heart hurt for Zach the gripping scenes will have you biting your nails and squirming with twists and turns galore, shocking moments with lies, deception and so much excitement for me. This is truly an amazing story that I could not get enough of.
Wow. 5⭐️ are not enough to describe how much I enjoyed this read. Told from the perspectives of both main characters and weaving through the past and present, I couldn’t put it down.
Zac and Lulu have loved each other forever. Tragedy separated them on the best day of their young lives but fate gives them a second chance.
Author Nadine Catalano has outdone herself. A beautifully written story that is full of emotion, mystery, heartbreak and love.
Zachary & Telulah’s story had everything you want. Love, heartache, mystery. Even the supporting characters were intriguing. The twist was great and lead to the ending I was hoping for.
What kind of madness was this story? I was not expecting that but, really enjoyed the switching of past and present as the story was being told. Drama, intense, chemistry with a hea.
Zachary and Telulah's story will break your heart and offers so many twists that you won't see coming in the story. Go in with an open mind. A truly awesome story that I recommend.
I absolutely enjoyed this story. So was not ready to reach the end but needing to know it at the same time. Lol. Make sure you don’t miss Zac and Lulu’s story!
This dark romance was gripping from beginning to end. There were many twists and turns. My heart went out to Zach for the emotional torture he suffered for years. Tallulah was his best friend and his everything. I don’t want to say too much for fear of posting a spoiler. I highly recommend this book!
It’s good, keep you interested but it gets very repetitive. The smut was poorly written, the dialogue is cringy . Also ,We will read a scene in one chapter and the very next chapter the character will fully recap what happened in the scene and it go very annoying very fast.
For example
Let’s say in this chapter we read how he walks into her room after she got out of the shower. He tells her he loves her and they have sex. They talk during the sex about how much he missed her, and she missed him. How they wanted to get married and have babies .the scene is showing not telling)
The very next chapter at the beginning the character will recap it saying “yesterday after I got out of the shower, he can jnto my room and told me he loved me. As he made love to me he told me how never felt like this for anyone else, he pulled my hair and told me to beg for him, to make up for him missing me. He’s going to use me the way I used him. I told him I wanted to her married and have babies.
Like dude we were there not even a page ago wtf and it’s just that on repeat
Like why was everything repeated and recapped over and over. Would not reread because of this. It took too long to give any answers also, I also don’t like that it was set up as a mystery but then she just comes back.. like I was interested in seeing what happened to her .. then she just shows up at 50% and all the stakes left. She shouldn’t have showed up letting us know she was alive until he figured out what happened first. The fact that she has no answers yet acted like she did is confusing .Dk felt like a rough draft.
WOW! This story had me utterly riveted to my seat, biting my nails with anticipation of what the hell happened and what the hell is going to happen next, and gasping at all of the shocking revelations and secrets being exposed.
I loved the back and forth of past and present as it added a further element of suspense and mystery to the overall story, which continually kept me guessing on what happened the whole way through.
The story was dark, mysterious, intense, emotional, and drama filled, and the characters were well thought out, some you hated, some you loved and some that gave you creepy feelings. There were so many twists and turns throughout that by the time you figure out who possibly did it, you will need to pick your jaw up off the floor at the shocking way it all ends.
Fantastic story that was well written and kept me entertained and shocked right to the very end.
Living with the pain of loss. Black Tuesday is a story filled with secrets, lies, betrayal, passion and a deep, all consuming love. That mysterious Tuesday when Telulah vanished from the face of the earth, the authorities needed a scapegoat to blame and Zachary seemed the best candidate to fill in that position. Many years later, Telulah suddenly reappears... both Zachary and Telulah begin a desperate search into that mysterious night... what they discover will set a chain reaction that will change both their lives. 5 Mysteriously Secretive Stars for "Black Tuesday"... where the secrets of the past are uncovered in a shocking way.
Total devotion, even when she's been gone for seven years. Zachary, the town's bad boy, always getting blamed for everything wrong in the town. His family has a reputation after all. Tallulah, she disappeared all those years ago. Something is afoot in this small town and opposing forces are trying to find answers, but someone just might be in the line of fire. Total twist at the end and quite the wrap up of this page turner of a book. Loved it, I really like Ty as well!
I gave this 4 stars, but I'm going to say it's closer to 4.5 for me. I really like this author and I'm so glad she's back to writing after a couple years' hiatus. This new book is completely addictive and I could hardly put it down until I learned exactly what happened to Lulu! What a suspenseful, engrossing tale filled with twists I just didn't see coming. And, of course--all that sizzling heat between Lulu and Zac kept me weak-kneed and panting. At times, some of the dialogue seemed a little cliche to me, but that didn't detract from a great story. I hope we'll see more from Catalano soon.
It was a slow start and I’m not a fan of the back and forth when events happen. That was the only negative I can say about this book. Nadine Catalano delivered on the Dark Romance and it was filled with spicy scenes along with so much suspense that you are second guessing yourself as to who is the bad guy. Go into this book blind to love it even more. Way to go on another great book Nadine Catalano.
This is an excellent, suspense filled book! The story revolves around three friends. Zac is from the other side of the tracks with both dark and light battling within him, Lulu is the love of his life and Ty is the privileged pain in Zac’s ass. But the three of them worked and for the most part was there for each other. The twists and turns had me wondering who the good and bad guys were, boy was I surprised!
