Astra Arden's plans to enjoy a leisurely summer vacation with her sisters and bestie Emma Sullivan's new baby are derailed when a strawberry farmer is found dead in his field, a magical symbol etched in the dirt beside him.
As the prime suspect, the farmer's daughter begs Astra for help in proving her innocence. With her talking owl sidekick, Archie, by her side, Astra delves into the secrets of the Forkbridge Farmers Market, uncovering a rivalry between strawberry farms and a decades-old mystery involving a stolen recipe for the world's best strawberry jam.
But as Astra gets closer to the truth, she realizes the killer will stop at nothing to keep the secrets buried in the strawberry fields forever.
Full of unexpected twists, and a touch of paranormal magic, Owl Berry Mysterious is a delightful addition to The Owl Star Witch Mysteries series that will keep you guessing until the very end.
No gore, intimate scenes, or swearing - only a captivating story suitable for adults.

I generally really like this series. The lead is a smart, strong, intelligent person. The premise was great, in the beginning of the series, but has been diverted into drivel. I think this because of the overused trope of the lead falling for a walking, talking set of red flags. It’s even more disappointing because her equally smart, kind, supportive, levelheaded, sweet boyfriend was killed off to make way for this nonsensical soon to be relationship. Everything interesting about this series has taken a back seat to Astra becoming smitten. Her powers are barely used, the fact that she and her sisters were sired by gods is only a footnote. I hope the series finds itself back on the interesting paths of following the supernatural instead of the mundane. Otherwise, I’m not sure the books are worth reading anymore.

This was another great story in this series. I was glad to see some story arcs get closed while newer ones were allowed to bloom. Each book is a complete story and could be read alone. However, there is a lot more depth if the books are read in order.
What started as a story of Astra going home to her estranged family has become an engaging extended family and friends tied together by friendship, blood, and love. Astra is still a central figure in the overall story while Emma and her sisters are getting better parts.
Character development is very well done. Each new main character gets enough air time to become a companion instead of a snapshot.
The world view remains consistent from book to book so plot twists fit.
Astra Arden’s best friend Detective Emma Sullivan, her fiancé, their new baby and Astra’s young sister and boyfriend, are enjoying time together at a charming berry farm in the outskirts of town and owned by the family of Emma’s friends. After a fun day at the Berry Farm, they hear that the owner has been killed and Emma’s friend, the owner’s daughter has been arrested for the death. After begging Emma and Astra for help in proving her innocence they know they cannot refuse. What they discover will uncover a mystery that neither Emma nor Astra are backing away from, even if danger is lurking ahead. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
Having got over the events of the last two books, this is one that returns to the main theme of solving murders and Emma and Astra working together, so it is much more enjoyable. Emma's son is only 2 months but a werewolf puppy too and therefore a naughty puppy. Emma is struggling with her place and being with werewolves and lack of privacy, she needs the job to sort herself out, while Astra is growing closer to Lothian and JAson is moving on with his afterlife, so she can just forget him now and pretend it wasn't Ami's fault he died, which despite their mother's part in it, it really was. I enjoyed the book and am on to number 13 next.
After barely surviving reading Book 10, books 11 and 12 have been what I, as a reader, needed from this series. The deep sorrow and pain felt at the loss of Mom and Jason almost forced me to quit the series. And I had to wait a long while before picking it up again. This book left me with the feelings that cozy mysteries should leave with the reader- peace, satisfaction in a well-told story, and eagerness for more!
Emma has had her baby but home-life is not what she’s comfortable with. There’s too many testosterone filled werewolves on the premises. When a local strawberry farmer is found dead and his daughter is charged with the murder, Emma finds her needed outlet. Emma and Astra join with werewolf guards and Astra’s family to solve this murder. This is one of the best in this series. But of course I love them all!
Owl tell ya, these mysteries are so suspenseful! This one was really a delight when the little "puppy" broke into the Arden's place. Don't want to ruin it for you so enough said! I am thrilled to be an unobserved companion to the cast of characters and get so many chuckles as they try to figure out the latest crime. If you're on the fence about reading this one, jump off and get started. You will really enjoy it.
Omgosh! This is my favorite one so far. I feel like I say that with each book, but they just keep getting better and better. So much going on in this one, murder, set ups, "cult" like groups, and do I see sparks between Astra and a certain someone?!?! I couldn't put this book down, and now I can't wait for the next one. It left me wanting more!!
Babies are just adorable! With Emma being on maternity leave and Astra no longer working for Forkbridge P.D. , things were going great until they visited a berry farm that Emma loved and grew up around. The ladies find themselves taking on a case and jumping into very murky water! Throw in a newborn werewolf and let the games begin! Loved every minute of this story!
So hard to put down…so I didn’t until I finished! This series keeps getting better. Hunter’s antics had me cracking up. Emma and Eddie have their hands full with that kid. And he’s only 2 months old! The murderous group really had some messed up ideals and even more messed up morals. Good thing that the Arden’s were on the case, along with Emma. Loved it!
Relationships are changing and so are people. Jason and Astra are friends and still love each other. Something is up with Hunter. Now Scarlett is in trouble and it takes everyone pitching it to solve the mystery.
Emma takes Astra and others to visit a local berry farm she used to visit as a kid. That night the farmer is murdered and his daughter is arrested. Emma know Scarlett wouldn’t kill her father, so they investigate.
The owner of a berry farm is murdered and his daughter is framed for, and arrested for, the murder. Is it about ownership of the farm or a misogynist secret society?
