Love Beyond Wanting

Rate this book
Her destiny lies in the past. So does her heart.

After surviving a fire that almost killed her, Kate worked hard to rebuild her life post-amputation. She knows her own strength. In life and in work, she never backs down from a challenge. But when she travels into the past to be with her sister, she meets a man who forces her to face truths about herself she’d rather avoid—that when it comes to love, nothing terrifies her more. Maddock enjoys his duty on The Isle of Eight Lairds, but dreams of more. After seeing his friend find love, he opens his heart to the belief that perhaps there is a lass out there for him, as well. When he meets Kate, the bonny sister of one of his dearest friends, he falls for her hard and fast. But she doesn’t make it easy for him. Her own fears keep her distant. No matter how much he opens himself up to her, she struggles to do the same.

Can they find a way to overcome the fears holding them back? If they do, can they work together to keep the evil that rules over the Isle at bay?

Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna’s Legacy Series.

Bethany’s love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a “conventional” career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.

Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.

So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar’s office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.

This series is such a guilty pleasure read for me! I get so sucked in by the time travel and the romance and the magic. Each book essentially follows the same formula but with slight changes and yet despite knowing this, I still just eat it up and keep coming back for more!

By Bethany Claire
(A Scottish Time Travel Romance:
Book 10 Morna's Legacy Series)

Marchara can not be trusted she is the worst kind of fae you could ever imagine, she wants to destroy everything and everybody on the Isle, but right now she is locked away in prison just waiting for her chance to get out and she wants to use her half fae half human son Brachan that she had with Nichol to help her so she has started calling to him through his dreams so he'll come to the Isle of the Eight Lairds.

Kate is Laurel's sister and she lost an arm in the same fire where her cat Mr. Crinkles lost his eye. She has worked hard to rebuild her life since her amputation. She knows her own strength. In her life and in her work she never backs down from a challenge. When she travels back into the past to be with her sister, she meets a man who forces her to face truths about herself she would rather avoid and when it comes to love, well that downright terrifies her.

Maddock enjoys his duty on The Isle of the Eight Laird's, but dreams of more. He dreams of love and after seeing his friend and fellow Laird find love, he opens his heart to the belief that just maybe there is someone out there for him as well. When he meets Kate, the beautiful sister of one of his dearest friends, he falls for her hard and fast. Kate doesn't make it easy for him though. Her own fears keep her distant. No matter how much he opens up to her, she struggles to do the same.
Can they find a way to both overcome the fears holding them back? Can they work together to keep the evil that rules over the Isle at bay. Will Marchara be able to get her son to work with her?

Once again Bethany Claire has delivered us another perfect book. She is an incredibly talented author who knows exactly how to write a time travel romance. This book is chalked full of romance, fae, magic, and intrigue. Just when you think the characters are going to do one thing they turn around and do something else. I always have such a hard time when I come to the end of one of Ms. Claire's novels as I almost feel lost as what to do next. These books are pure magic and I totally love them.

I love this installment of the series!! It is best enjoyed if you read Love Beyond Words first. But if you haven’t, Bethany gives you a recap and there is enough backstory woven in that you won’t miss a thing.
I love The Isle of Eight Lairds stories and Love Beyond Wanting is my new favorite in the Morna’s Legacy Series. The main characters, Kate & Maddox were introduced in Love Beyond Words and in Love Beyond Wanting we get to share in their story. But it is not their story alone, we have the opportunity to find out more about the beloved characters from Love Beyond Words.
This story flies by, I read it in one sitting. I truly did not want to put it down and was surprised when I finished. It is honestly that good of a story. The story left my mind spinning with the possibilities of what can be in the following stories, I can’t wait to see what happens.

Like a little magic with your romance? Read this!

The latest installment of Morna’s Legacy released today. It continues the storyline started in the last book. It expands upon the events from that book and progresses the story. It takes previous minor characters and makes them the stars. And, boy, do they shine! We learn more about Kate and Maddock as well as how the evil fairy will be defeated (which gets one step closer with this book). Another great edition to this series! Read this one (and read them all)!

Loved the book! Bethany Claire did not disappoint with this latest book!

We pick up in this book where Love Beyond Words left off so read that first or you may be a little lost.

This book introduces new characters and of course Morna makes an appearance. We also have different magic in the book, interesting.

The happy ever after is just too sweet.

Loved the book!

Oh where did all the good romance novels go? I seem to have the worst luck with my books recently and this was no different. It's like discovering that your once favorite vacation spot, is now concreted with pots of plastic plants :(
Why there are so many oversimplified, infantile, doll-like heroines out there? And sensitive-brutes cliches of heroes? Why anyone thinks it makes a good story? Why insta-love is the standard? Moreover if you don't even get any cultural differences in time travel novel, it's like the author even didn't try. It's just sad, it's so bad.
I want to write more, but let me give you an example from side part of the story. The heroine has a long standing boyfriend, who stood by her when she had this horrible accident that ended with her hand amputated. She decided to ditch him because, apparently, he didn't do it for her and finally does it after lying to him. And what does he do? He tells her that she has a lot of baggage. She is horrified and deeply offended by that. So offended that she kisses the hero in front of her ex. And what does the ex do? He starts to cry and while sobbing apologies for the horrible thing he said...
Of course I'm being brief here, there's a little bit more to this story. But really not much more.
I'm so angry for spending my perfectly good free time on this. Don't make my mistake.

I have loved this series from the first time I read it, but these last 2 books have upped the ante. I love magic and fantasy, so time travel with sexy highlanders and lairds is right up my alley. But in these last 2 books there is an added fantastical element of Fae, and for me it takes the stories to another level. Just that extra bit of intrigue had me devouring both of these books in 2 days. It also brings with it a new set of potential male lead characters with the setting being the Isle of Eight Lairds. We get to see some past beloved characters, as with all of morna's meddling, her 'victims', end up crossing paths here and there, and I always love to see past characters. But I am dying to know who the next book is about. I am already invested so much into all of the druid men and can't see what Morna has in store for them!

Kate is the sister of the heroine of the last book. She was injured in a fire in the present and part of her arm had to be amputated. Maddox is one of the magic-wielding lairds of the Isle of the Eight Lairds. They are the MC couple of the story. The book begins in the present, then switches to the past when Kate, her mother and David's father, plus her cat travel to the past to be with Kate's sister Laurel. The evil fae Machara is still imprisoned in the dungeon of the castle where the magical lairds live. Keeping her imprisoned there and defeating her is the focus of the story. There are twists and turns in the plot, but Kate finds the courage and determination to fulfill her role in foiling Machara. I like the addition of the character Bacharan.

Love Beyond Wanting is the latest chapter of Morna's Legacy. Although this book is the second book for the "Isle of the Eight Lairds" series, it has memorable characters from the first eight books of Morna's Legacy.

This time, the story is Kate and Maddock's. Kate has shut downed emotionally after losing her hand from the fire. She is afraid to risk her heart to love and to care. Whereas Maddock has given up in finding love and to remain the fae keeper. Maddock has found hope when his friend was able to find love. Now it is time for Maddock to teach Kate to risk her heart with him.

Love this series. There is always a lesson in each books. No grandeur confrontation with the antagonist but still an enjoyable story.

I still love the narrator, Lily Collingwood and am glad she is still the narrator for the series. I can't wait for the next book in the series and wonder what the author has for the readers/listeners.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I have decided to write an unbiased review of the book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

I received an ARC of this book and it was outstanding like all of Bethany’s books! We have been patiently waiting for the next installment of the Isle of the Eight and trying to defeat Machara. Add in a wonderful love story for two of Laurel’s favorite people and you have a sure win. I’m excited to see where this series goes as the possibilities are limitless as we meet new characters and visit with ones we’ve already grown to love.

Another great read in the series. This time it’s Laurels sister that gets her happily ever after. She plans to go to Scotland to be with Laurel but how to convince her mother and Marcus’s father to come. With the help of a potion it was easy explaining everything to them. Kate knows she is one of the Nine woman that helps to destroy Machara. A great read with Kate’s love Maddock helping along the way.

Best yet!

Kate, Laurel's sister, is probably the strongest heroine so far. Her story has so much depth. As always, her 17th century Scottish love interest, Maddock, is one of the Druids on the Isle...Oh, just buy this book and read it. Although it is part of the series, the plot is fully developed and needs no previous knowledge. You will fall in love with all the characters including Mr. Crinkles. Such a great story!

I love these books! This series is pure escape literature - a guilty pleasure for when you want to read something purely for entertainment and not have to think about historical accuracy. It is so much fun to see how Claire brings characters from a previous book into the next. I have now moved on to The Haunting of Castle Dune (as I wait for Love Beyond Destiny) and you will be surprised to discover who is pulled in from this book. I also need to go back and read the Christmas novellas.

Women of power

This was a very good read! Full of action and adventure, but most of all a love for all things good. As a young woman comes to terms with a deadly fire and the loss of a limb, she over comes her fears and learns to let love shine brightly within not only for others but herself as well as she willing sacrifices herself for another. A must read in my book, I highly recommend it.

Yet again Bethany Claire takes the series to a whole new level. This time we read about Maddock and Kate's story, whilst being introduced to a new character, Brachan! Bethany's writing and wonderful imagination continues to grow with each new book, her amazing storytelling hooking you in from page one. I just can't get enough! Roll on the next one is all I can say 😍

Fabulous

Another Morna book, but this one didn't have much of our favorite witch in it, just a few cameo shots so to speak. It was the story of Lauren's sister Kate and her new found love as they continue to battle the evil face. The only problem, too long between books! Good read!

Yet again, another quick paced, page turning time travel romance from Bethany Claire. I've been a fan since her first book, and she has yet to disappoint.

This book picks up where the last left off. We're better introduced to Kate, as she travels back in time to join her sister and play her part in the defeat if the evil fae, Machara.

Two thumbs up!

The main character, Kate is a very relatable character. Although she endures tragedy in her life, her battle through her emotions and fears is inspirational.
With a touch of magic, Scottish Isles, time-travel and a mighty foe, this story will make you want to keep turning over the pages to find out what happens next.

Every bit as good as all the others in the series and it follows on from where Laurel and Roderick went on honeymoon. Kate and Maddock are the next pair and they meet in our time when he collects her to tske her to the isle. From there the romance developx nicely as does the saga.
A good addition to the series

This is part of the Morna's Legacy Time Travel series that I love. There are around 12 books and I love all of them that include people traveling back and forth in time in Scotland. Each book is based on a certain couple helped with love by Morna but they all intact with each other. Some are based more on people moving back in time and some move forward but they all interact together.

Again another whimsical story that makes it fun to think time travel is possible. Also the magic of druids, faes and fairies are fun as well. Great relationships. Enjoyed very much.

Bethany Claire has another wonderful story to add to rest of Morna's Legacy Series. I loved reading Kate and Maddock's story as they learn their role in stopping and evil fae from winning and getting free.

I know I say that I love each book but I truly do! Kate's story was full of hope, determination, character growth and of course, her HEA! 👏 ❤ 😍 💖

Before I end this review, I must mention how I am thoroughly enjoying the addition of a new story arc! There's a whole new layer of magic, evil and love!! Looks like we'll get at least 7 more books after this one. I hope we get even more after that!!

Just like the previous book, this one concentrates more on the magic of the men fighting Fae magic. The mortal women from the future seem to have a more active part in fighting the magic than in the books before these two books. I like this storyline.
