Jerry and Gunter get a break from hunting series killers while visiting his parents in Florida. But they still find ghosts to deal with.

Boring and basically awful

This book was the worst, pretty useless as far as this series goes. A whole lot of BS about The Villages in Florida and how the people act that live there. Most of the book was pages you could skim and not miss anything, just read the last chapter. As Jerry has progressed through the series, I have reached a few conclusions;
Jerry's ego is bruised easily.
Jerry thinks like a 14 year old a lot of the time.
Jerry is VERY gullible, with no sense of humor.
Hard to believe he spent any time in the Marines or being a cop.
He has a good heart yet so immature and unworldly.
If I wasn't getting these books for free, I would not be reading this series.

Jerry and Gunter decide to spend a surprise Thanksgiving with his parents, whose new home in Florida he's never seen. On the way his SUV gets pranged so he calls Fred who arranges a hired car for him. Jerry labels it a skate rather than a car as it is so small but it will have to do, much to the annoyance of Gunter who has no place to stretch out.
He meets a couple of his parent's neighbours when they think he is a burglar trying to break into his parents' home whilst they are out. A phone call to them clears the problem and he settles down to unwind for a few days with his mum & dad. He misses April and Max desperately and still has the email of Holly's to read that he received quite a while ago. His mind is in a turmoil thinking of what April had hinted to him that there was no chemistry between them where he was certain there was.
Spirits appear from every corner after his father has mentioned to friends, who mentioned to their friends, that Jerry was staying and could contact the spririts of their loved ones. That's when the fun begins.............

Interesting and lovable characters

What I love about Sherry Burton's books are the interesting and lovable characters! They reside in familiar places in Florida and I know this because I live in Florida and have traveled the state extensively. Although the storyline is pure fiction, it is charming and engaging. I've read all of the Sam Malone books and intend to keep on reading them as long as the series continues. I feel comfortable with all of these stories and although there are plenty of exciting "events" to
make the heart rate increase, the stories are a relaxation to enjoy in the midst of reading traditional mysteries and the like. I really think you will enjoy them as well.

I love this series, and I can’t wait to start on the next book, as soon as I finish one I move onto the next. Sherry Burton really knows how to make her characters come alive. Jerry is really embracing his gift and helping so many people both living and dead in so many ways. I love to see the development of each character and the relationships change and grow as the series continues, I also really enjoy the recurring background characters as well, as it feels like we are all on this journey together. Gunter, the ghostly K-9 is a special character in the series, I love everything about him including his wicked sense of humour.

Proof-reader needed!

I have read all the novellas so far and really enjoy the story and love the humor. This story was good but had more errors than usual. One whole chapter had a misnamed character. Instead of Lori, the main character's mother who was in the scene, she was called Linda who is a character that currently lives in another state. This is only one example. The text read like a rough draft. I am not faulting anyone since many things could have occurred to cause the problems such as a mix-up of the drafts. I was just disappointed

Happy story. Jerry and Gunter visit his parents, mending fences and greeting ghosts

Jerry is going to stay with parents for Thanksgiving. Of course Gunter came along which was a good thing as Jerry’s dad had done a little bragging around the neighbors and they all wanted to meet them both, Jerry and Gunter. This causes problems as Gunter is a ghost and they can’t see him. This causes friction and Jerry has to figure out how to save his dads face and find the answers everyone wants His mom just wants to have the perfect visit and we all know nothing is perfect.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

I am in love with Jerry and Gunter. I am a retired K9 handler/trainer. I only have one regret, that ghost dogs aren't real. I miss Dagger so much. I guess in a way you have given him back to me. Even if it is in my own mind. Thank you. Please don't quit writing about them. I so look forward to each new book. I re-read them while waiting for the next one. However, I think Gunter is a little smarter than Dagger. When I talked to him, all I got was a short yep, a wet kiss, and of course, that cute doggie smile. And yes, they do smile.

This comment is for the audio book version - which isn't an option yet here on GR. Book 11 in this series went deeper into the paranormal possibilities a story can go and fully embraced that direction. I both questioned and loved it. In order to continue the much loved series after the serial killer was caught Jerry McNeal is going to have to grow and this was an interesting path to take.

I really loved the ending and am looking forward to the next book to read more about the new character.

family and holidays

Jerry spending the holidays with his parents in Florida is the best. Fred and Seltzer have some brief interactions with Jerry and so do Granny, April, and Max. Jerry helps his parents friends and Gunter keeps disappearing until the end we get a small puppy surprise! Is he a stowaway or is he a pup from Gunter and the first escapades several books back! This book didn’t include murder, but Jerry still helped people and ghosts out in humorous and loving ways. The scenes talking with his parents were sweet and I am ready for more of this series!

More ghosts and people helped.

Jerry and Gunter are on the road to visit his parents for the Thanksgiving holiday. Some issues for Jerry to sort through and people and ghosts to help. Just Jerry’s unusual life. I continue to enjoy this series and the ghostly adventures and I finish each book so far feeling content and happy at the good work done by Jerry and Gunter (and many others, too).

Jerry and Gunter help again.

Jerry has love problems but they take a backseat to helping the ghost of a doctor try to clear his name. He was accused of murdering his wife, then committing suicide and he wants his daughter to know the truth. Jerry also forges a better relationship with his dad and gets a closer look at life after retirement in Florida. Can't wait for the next installment.

Jerry McNeal series book 11

Thank You Sherry A. Burton, for such a heart touching story, of Love and Family.
I have laughed and cried throughout this read. Jerry is finally getting very close to his parents. The ghosts in this book are a couple that Loved each other, and speaking of Love Jerry is opening up about his feelings for April. And he finally read the Email from Holly. I am very excited to read book 12 and beyond to find out who Jerry will end up with.

There’s no place like home!

Jerry and Gunter go home to see Jerry’s Mom & Dad. Jerry is very apprehensive about this visit because of left over bad feelings about how his Dad reacted to Jerry’s abilities when he was young. And, of course, Jerry has to take care of some ghost business while he’s there. Do yourself a big favor & read this book & this entire series. You WILL be very glad you did! :)

Jerry decides to visit his parents in Florida for much needed rest. While there he meets a variety of characters, both alive and not, that live in the community. Jerry is trying to decide if he loves his new lady friend or if he still harbors feelings for the woman he first met in a snow storm at the beginning of this series. His fear is holding him back and he needs to push past it to find resolution.

Awesome

I have read all the books in this series and I just love them all. I am looking forward to the next one already. Such an easy read, keeps me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. I love dogs and interested in the paranormal and the two together is sensationally.

I love these books, I love the characters and don't find myself questioning ghosts and different way

I have been following the series and I can't read slowly enough to make them last! The skeptical part of my mind doesn't argue with the idea that spirits are real and some people can see and speak to them. I love the spirit dog.I want one! The characters seem so real.

Have I Said I love this series?

Ok. I repeat myself. This series is so fun. A Marine/cop/paranormal agent and a ghost dog make a great recipe for a truly enjoyable series. There are mysteries, well crafted emotional issues, and more than a little humor. You really need to read this if you love the paranormal stories.

Great reading

I have spent 3days reading all 12_books and eating stuffed grape leaves. Those are good for your digestion and constitution.
I love the fact that you are articulate and know about the after life. Think about it. Black holes are so heavy that they even suck in energy. The Bible promises that the wages of sin is everlasting death.

Great read!

This is the 11th book I have read in this series. I was hooked from the very first one. Sherry's writing style sucks you right in and you actually believe Jerry and Gunter are real, or maybe I just want them to be. 😊. Her books are easy reading. I think young and senior readers will enjoy them.

home for the holidays

Not too dark… Since our hero finally caught a serial killer in a previous story, this is about going home to be with family and enjoying Thanksgiving. Of course, there are ghosts relying on him to bring closure and peace of mind to family. And a puppy! Too much fun!

Can't put them down

Love the dog glad you left him in the story. This is the kind of book I like. It continues one book after another as if a conversation is continuing. I just can't put the books down I'm on the 12th book and can't wait until I finish it and the next one. Jerry does a great job dealing with all the spirits..

SO GOOD!

This book is so good! I couldn't put it down. The humor in it made me laugh so hard tears came to my eyes. I wish I could write this good. When I read it's like I'm standing in the room watching everything come to life and can hear what is being said. Sherry A. Burton has become one of my favorite authors.

Review of this book.

This wss a really wonderful book. The Thanksgiving dinner was great. It looks like I am about to get my wish. Jerry is going to follow his mother's advice. He did several really good things in this book. He reunited people, eased a daughter's mind, and solved a few crimes along the way. His mother's golf cart sounds
really cute.

makes me smile

I’m enjoying the Jerry McNeal series and I didn’t think I would after the first one. They are so entertaining what with Gunter and, in this book, his parents. The series is light hearted and amusing at times and the good guy always wins. So I smile. I’ll continue the series because I think I’m hooked now. 😊

Fun series, light reading

I love this series. Jerry and his dog make me laugh out loud sometimes. This may sound corny, but I find the books uplifting. They are humorous despite the serious topics which include death and murder. They are paranormal mysteries with lessons about family. I really enjoy them.
