Excellent!!
This definitely kept me on my toes and I didn't want to put it down. The twists and and turns had me guessing. While we get some big answers, we also get a lot more questions. It also gave me a roller-coaster of emtions.
There was action, suspense, angst, and much more!
I love Jade!! She is definitely a bad*ss, but so much more too.
She is a survivor, strong and fierce. The level of compassion she has for others is undeniable and heartwarming.
I love most of the guys, but there is a certain one that needs to change his attitude a bit.
Such a fantastic read!! I can't wait for book 3!!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book.
It blew my mind! I was so so so excited for this, it has everything you need. A b@d@ss fmc, lots of action and the SPICE 🌶️ was on point (all my fav components of RH). I will literally be counting down the days until book 3…
It answered several questions from book 1 but raised so many more?? Prepare for the cliffhanger… but oh gosh i’m on the edge of my seat, it will be physically painful to wait for the rest :( but totally worth it

DNF at 50%. This book is way too long. 500 plus pages for books one and two and the character and relationship development is lacking. At over 800 pages into this series the FMC has a barely established friends with benefits relationship with one of the guys. Then it seems like the author is going to add to her group of men once again but there is no real progression with the others. Why are we adding more relationships when the ones that we have are under developed or stagnant. It’s not even a slow burn at this point. There is no burn. This would all be more tolerable if there was a fast paced plot but there isn’t. The plot is interesting but the book is so long that the plot feels slow moving. If these books were 150 pages shorter I would have finished. But with another 800 pages plus ahead of me in the series I can’t bring myself to continue.

Are you kidding me?!?? To say this series has me in a chokehold is a understatement. If you haven’t already read Vengeance & Sin , then stop reading this and devour that then come back!!! The minute I finished book 1, I was ready for this hahaha. Sara did not disappoint!! Betrayal & Deception had me wanting to speed read but also read slow so it wouldn’t go by to fast. This series is a why choose, gang/mafia/criminal underworld book. Definitely on the darker side with the situations that are dealt with by the characters. A slow burn for sure. Usually I’m to impatient for the slow burn but this was so worth it. As far as the spice goes I would say a medium level. I absolutely ate up the fact that this series focuses on the build up, the journey of the relationships and the tension. Don’t get me wrong you do get some FINALLY moments and man did they deliver. Somethings where definitely answered from book 1 but there is still so much going on that the pages just kept turning. This does end on a cliffhanger, so be warned. If you can’t already tell this is definite recommend for me, as always make sure your comfortable with what your reading. There is definitely some situations in this book and what the series is based around that could be triggering to some. Of course violence, talk of death, talk of SA, captive situations, dealing with trauma, mental health. Not a complete list just an idea. I can’t wait for what’s to come! That cliffy damn near killed me. If who I think is helping one of our many enemies is actually helping, I'm going to lose my miiiiiind!
We've had some questions answered, including the biggest one from book one; who is Froggie? I was a bit surprised not going to lie. But of course, you get an answer to one, three more questions pop up!
Spencer was a brat this book, but definitely worse than book one. His words are harsher, his actions are icier. So he can sit his pretty ass at the bottom of the lineup. Rick, my poor boy, was having a mini life crisis for a hot second lmao. Once he pulled his head out of his ass and finally snapped, it was deliiiiiicious! Daddy K will always be number one. I absolutely adore Zander and Jades relationship, he's such a good match for her. I'm surprised at how quick I warmed up to Trent! And our newest addition, who shocked the shit outta me, I can't wait to see where that goes.
Definitely looking forward to book three and all the chaos that's about to ensue!

This book!! It keeps you on your toes from start to finish. I honestly did not think I could not become more obsessed with these characters… and boy was I wrong! Jade is seriously one of my favorite FMC. She is one big walking oxymoron and I genuinely can’t wait to see what comes next. I finished this book in one sitting. I could not put it down!

This was longer than I expected.
I think my only concern is that there’s only one book left and while the romance has picked up, there are still so many relationships up in the air or not even started really. The plot is interesting and solid.
Primal, breath play, biting, and general dominance.
I dig it and I’m still obsessed with Daddy Kratos. He is and always will be my favorite probably. Jake is growing on me faster than Spence. I like the way she balances Rick. Mr.Officer has the ability to steal the top spot from Kratos if the steam can level the emotional intimacy. Zan is forever the cutest psycho golden retriever.

OHHHH MYYY GOSHHHH
I cannot stress enough how fast I devoured this book. So so good it picks up right where book one ends. And while we get some answers, so much happens in this one that I have a million more theories and so many more questions that need answered. Holy wow, that ending.

I thought that the first book was amazing but book 2 blew me away!! I absolute devoured it in an afternoon.. I could not put it down! Jade is the first female main character that I have loved slightly.more than the guys... That's not to say Daddy K doesn't have my heart cause he always will! I have even formed a soft spot for Rick, Zander and Trent... Ok maybe even Spencer and Jake too!! If you have not started this series you are missing out! Grab it and lose yourself in the magic that is spun by this amazing author!!!

This book was good, haha my instinct was right. Jade is a bad bitch, really need them to stop. underestimate her
I hade some issues with some guys definitely not Kratos/daddy he's 1, not Zander either he would do anything for her, i liked Trent too.
Mr Spencer was more tolerable this book, and actually seems to care about her well being from time to time. But he's such an asshole, it's like he's incapable of feeling empathy for her despite everything she's been through. And i know that he will probably end up in the harem, but it kinda annoys me that he will be like oh i didn't realize i cared about her until the cliffhanger. And i really want to se him treat her as the Queen she is, i think we saw some glimpses of the real Spencer and not the asshole facade in this book. But to be honest he's not the only one with trauma, the fmc who probably has the most trauma isn't an asshole (unless you deserve it) so I really need him to step up, and I'm kinda hoping they don't just hop in bed together when he realize his feelings, a deep part of me wants him to do a bit of groveling and growth.
The other guy i was a bit mad at was Roderick, i mean c'mon ignoring her. It's just pissed me of how he treated her, and when she tried to communicate and ask what's wrong, he would be like nothing and go back to ignoring her. And i get that it was a chock, and he wants to protect her even more now. But dude don't ignore her, she's been lonely as it is.
Let's take about nr 1, Mr Kratos . Not sleeping with anyone in sex years since he realized his feelings, oh swoon. I really liked that, i hate In books where the man is like i got needs and sleep with a lot of different girls. But not this man, he's so protective, growly, kill anyone who hurts her, i mean i love him.
Zander i don't really have so much to say about, he's always there for her, are afraid of taking advantage of her, will defend her against asshole (Spencer) even though they known each other longer. Zander is up at nr 2 with his golder retriever psychotic tendencies.
Trent i really liked to get to know a bit more of, he just seems like a big softie. And i really want to see more of him. I don't know where to place him but for now he's nr 3 cause the other two where assholes.
Ill also admit I'm very biased for Jade, i will probably defend her even though she does something wrong. So even though the guys were trying to protect her , i will stand with jade. It was really interesting in finding out a bit of her self harming, like not eating in 4-5 days, not sleeping, hurting herself through training etc. I would say it's self harming but i don't remember it being classified as it. I hope the guys take better observation of her mental health and how's she's feeling.(see I'm biased, i told you, i blame the guys)
Jake, Jake, Jake. Don't really know where to put him, feels a bit privileged like Trent called him out on but feels like got a good heart underneath. Would like to get to know better.
I thought of something she said, she said to Kratos that she probably can't have kids. I'm assuming it because all the SA, i hoping we'll bounce back to that in the next book because jade seemed a bit upset about that.
That cliffhanger though, I'm completely baffled and confused. Who's the Enemy and are they better or worse than Randall.

Wow my god ! Girly everytime I read one of your books I can’t put it down .
The connection between Jade and Zander is 🔥🔥DADDDDDDDDY K can be my daddy anytime , I mean 🤔😂ummm he is something else . The cliff hangers and the way you keep throwing bombs out there that make us question and guess is insane ..
This series is a must read ! Wow oh wow! Book 3 needs to come out like now 🖤🖤

Amazing Read!
This is the second book of this trilogy and it’s jammed packed with action and steam between Jade and her men. We see all of these characters in new ways, and this world just continues to expand. The story kept me on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait to see how this story wraps up! Off to read the final book!

2.5/3 stars - Amazing plot but it needs more
I lovedd the first book in this series, the world building was great between the gangs to the traffic ring. The FMC is exactly what I love in a book from a girl beaten down to finding her strength and taking the power back and being a badass. The MMC’s were good as well (especially Zander).
Now… this is where the but comes in for the second book…
This was the perfect case of telling instead of showing/doing, there’s literally no progress, no further world building. The same conversations and prolonged inner monologue. The first book sets out an FMC that’s so strong but can lean on her men, but it just falls flat. She runs a whole gang but they don’t do anything to look for clues (other than telling us that’s what they’ve been doing), where’s the recon, going out and finding information together to shut the rings down. So much more could have been done but it’s just the same arguments, same school, club, house all over again.
I really wanted to love this series and in some ways I do but to have big books and keep attention you need to add more. I’m still going to carry on because I like the premises and will never give up near the end of a series.

these cliffhangers keep getting me!!! this book was a tad slower than the first one to me, although this book is just as good! I think the first one really got me hooked and this one just felt like I was going through this mid point that was kind of dragging! Anyway I need Spencer to finally get his head out of his a$$! I really want to know him just as much as the others. I was hesitant about Trent and Kratos joining in but after learning about Kratos past I see that she needs him. And I think Trent is a good breath of fresh air for her but we are starting to see he can get just as angry as the guys. And the scene with Rick!!! Hot tamale!!! Okay on to book 3!

I didn't want to put this down. I am dying to find out how the last book is going to end.
This book gives you a lot more information and answers some questions, but also just brings up so many more questions!
You will fall for the guys more, fall for Jade and her badass, selfless heart more.
Going into book three I'm stressed, hopeful, confused, and just eager to know what's happening.

Too lazy to write up a ton of stuff. This was a filler book. This entire series could have been done as a duet if there wasn't so much internal monologuing about anything and everything. Every scene is paused so we can hear whatever details can be provided that we don't actually need to be subjected to.
!!Mild spoilers!!
A lot happens while nothing important actually happens in this book. It leads up to a kidnapping that anyone could have predicted from book 1 (this is book 2), and everything leading up to it, including much of the previous book, was completely irrelevant. This includes the relationship stuff because for being a why choose novel with a whopping six (6) MMCs, only two of them progress their relationship with her at all. Even the one who was 100% in with her from book 1 is mostly sidelined in this book.
Reminder that this was advertised as a "slow-medium burn", but it's in fact only a slow burn. I don't mind slow burns, and I'm still interested in this one, I just hate false advertising. Also I'm 30% into the third book and she still has a long ways to go with the rest of her guys, meaning everything else will be wrapped up quickly in the remainder of that book because their relationships weren't developed enough in these first two books.
More inconsistencies in this book too:
Jake was friends with Trent in the first book, which was specifically something another MMC pointed out and said annoyed him. But in this book Jake just calls him "the cop" in a derogatory way and is hostile towards him anytime he's in the room because of it. What's with the switch up?
The way the author literally has her reading Harry Potter in the last book, but this book she alludes to Hazel picking those movies for movie night and she acts like she doesn't know what they are when she had read the books.
A side character's name is Mai in the first book but Mia in this book. I did a word search in both books, and it's definitely a name switch.
The learning to read thing was finally explained in this book. Why it wasn't explained until book 2 when the first book was over 500 pages long is a mystery.
I'm still hooked on this series though? Gonna finish book 3 after a little break bc I'm tired of all the rehashing of things we've already gone over in these first two books.
The asshole is still an asshole in this book, and is unapologetic about it. In fact, he thinks he has every right to act the way he does, and also to have kidnapped and drugged her in the last book. Spoiler for book 3: this is never addressed, and all is swept under the rug when they, predictably, have hate sex and are suddenly together. I called it last book, and I'm still disappointed that authors in this day and age still think that's acceptable.
!!Mild spoilers!!
A lot happens while nothing important actually happens in this book. It leads up to a kidnapping that anyone could have predicted from book 1 (this is book 2), and everything leading up to it, including much of the previous book, was completely irrelevant. This includes the relationship stuff because for being a why choose novel with a whopping six (6) MMCs, only two of them progress their relationship with her at all. Even the one who was 100% in with her from book 1 is mostly sidelined in this book.
Reminder that this was advertised as a "slow-medium burn", but it's in fact only a slow burn. I don't mind slow burns, and I'm still interested in this one, I just hate false advertising. Also I'm 30% into the third book and she still has a long ways to go with the rest of her guys, meaning everything else will be wrapped up quickly in the remainder of that book because their relationships weren't developed enough in these first two books.
More inconsistencies in this book too:
Jake was friends with Trent in the first book, which was specifically something another MMC pointed out and said annoyed him. But in this book Jake just calls him "the cop" in a derogatory way and is hostile towards him anytime he's in the room because of it. What's with the switch up?
The way the author literally has her reading Harry Potter in the last book, but this book she alludes to Hazel picking those movies for movie night and she acts like she doesn't know what they are when she had read the books.
A side character's name is Mai in the first book but Mia in this book. I did a word search in both books, and it's definitely a name switch.
The learning to read thing was finally explained in this book. Why it wasn't explained until book 2 when the first book was over 500 pages long is a mystery.
I'm still hooked on this series though? Gonna finish book 3 after a little break bc I'm tired of all the rehashing of things we've already gone over in these first two books.
The asshole is still an asshole in this book, and is unapologetic about it. In fact, he thinks he has every right to act the way he does, and also to have kidnapped and drugged her in the last book. Spoiler for book 3: this is never addressed, and all is swept under the rug when they, predictably, have hate sex and are suddenly together. I called it last book, and I'm still disappointed that authors in this day and age still think that's acceptable.

This one wasn’t as good as the first for me. It was very slow going, in pace and romance. I think while the first book set the foundation we really needed more action in the second one.
That’s not to say it wasn’t good. I love the progression of relationships between Jade and the guys, especially getting more of a background from Kratos. His fierce devotion to Jade and protectiveness, makes me absolutely melt. He goes so long without being with another person because he knows his heart belongs to Jade and it just makes his character even better. I enjoyed the twist with Froggie which I definitely saw coming at the end of book one, and I also liked the addition of Trent to the harem. In most books all the guys are usually just morally grey if it’s a dark romance RH, so I appreciated that we got a good guy cop added to the mix with Jade.
We finally see her and Roderick come together and it was absolutely worth the wait in book one. It was also slow going this book but a relief when we got there. I didn’t much care for the step back she and Zander took, I felt like we didn’t get many moments of them alone because of the relationships building with the other guys and that made me sad. He’s still my favorite next to Kratos.
That cliffhanger? Once again, CRAZY. I’m looking forward to seeing Spencer finally give in because even in this book, he can still suck a duck. He has a LOT of catching up to do to level with the other guys. I don’t know if Jake is in the harem?…..but I guess I wouldn’t mind.
Overall I look forward to watching Jade take down the third and final ring in the next book. Unfortunately in this one, VERY little progress was made and their only real lead doesn’t do much for them in the end given the circumstances soooooo….onto the next!

Holy fucking shit balls ,to say this series has me in a chokehold is a understatement, it has me all twisted up, I don't know which way is up or down anymore!
When you think you have figured everything out, wham it reminds you that you haven't, we get some questions answered in this book but then we end up having a billion more. We find out who froggie is in this book and that surprised me I ain't going to lye it really did.

Spencer was a pain in my arse in this book, I wanted to reach in and punch him a few times, I wish he would be more like Rick and finally admit his feelings. Zander and Trent are adorable in their relationship with Jade.
The biggest fucker in this book though was Randall, everytime he is mentioned I feel like I'm going to crawl out my skin., I so want him to get tortured badly. Asshat needs to end.
Yet again another fantastic installment in the Vengeance City series, it was wonderful, hot steamy, Great characters, very well written and that damn cliffhanger nearly killed me, and if I find out who I think the enemy is that's helping ,I'm going to blow a fuse, I would highly recommend this series and boy i Cannot wait for the next book!

Betrayal & Deception is the 2nd book in the Vengeance City series. You must read the 1st book, Vengeance & Sin, before starting this one otherwise you will be completely lost on the characters and storyline. Please check Trigger Warnings before reading.
Betrayal & Deception picks up right where Vengeance & Sin ended. Jade is the ultimate bada$$ FMC. I love her character growth in this book. While still learning the ways of the world, with the help of the guys and her study group, she continues to get stronger mentally, emotionally and physically. Her determination to end the rings grows stronger the more she realizes what her future could possibly be. We get a better insight into all the guys as well as a lot of the stuff Jade has been through. Daddy Kratos has been there for her since they were kids and have a very special bond. Zander is the cuddly psychotic puppy that tends to push everyone's buttons just for fun. Rick is the meticulous one that hides all his emotions. Spencer is still a mystery and continues to deny his feelings for Jade. Trent struggles with the choices he made years ago when he chose law enforcement over the guys and lost his best friends. Then Jake comes along and causes confusion. And who is Luciano??? This book draws you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. And that cliffhanger... wow! Can't wait for the 3rd and final book to come out!

You never know what's going to happen next!!!
Sara, Sara, Sara - what have you done!!! You drew me into this world you created and now I can hardly wait to read the next one....never wanting these characters' stories to end!!
Jade and her "guys" deal with more intrigue and possible deadly consequences with more twists and turns that keep your heart pumping. It took me awhile to get through this book...not because it wasn't amazing but because it was so amazing, I had to give my heart and mind that much needed break before continuing. Sara - you had me on the edge of my seat almost the whole way through and I just could not get enough. I can hardly wait to get the next book started to see what happens, but then I don't want that one to end because I know it's the last one in the series and I seriously do not want to let these characters go. Each one of them has their own complex, yet surprisingly straightforward, desire to see each other happy.
This book ends on one heckuva cliffhanger, but I have the next book already, so I will be delving into it right away!! You will not be disappointed in this entire series because it just reaches out, grabs you, and puts you right into their story.

It took me a while to get my thoughts together for this book. I loved book 1, and I was so excited to read book 2 and find out answers to the many questions we left with. Alright, here we go...
That ending of book 1 wasn't brutal but it left us 100% wondering WTF big time. Froggie, who is it, and how deep are they where they know so much but remain anonymous. We learn relatively early on in book 2 who it is, I had 4 working theories on this lol. One of them was correct and I was SO amped when I read that moment.
The guys are a little all over the place in book 2, Spencer is an *inset not a nice word here*, for the majority of the book. Luckily by seeing his POV, we can see his inner monologue, and we want to smack him just a little "less". Ricky boy, he was flailing for a few but, ugh once he lets go, YAS. He just needed some help getting out of his head space. Zander, the angel baby, I would protect him with my life and the way his and Jade's relationship progresses. And I love that out of all the guys, he stays consistent with Jade. Daddy K, he's top-notch with Z, his relationship with Jade also changes very little, it advances but he's such an amazing character. Trent is so interesting, he's in a weird, area with Jade because he is a police officer, BUT you can tell how much he cares about her. We have a possible new addition to Jade's guys, I won't divulge who but I like him and am intrigued by his addition.
There's SO much going on in the back half of this book, there are secrets, betrayals, and SOME 🌶️ 🌶️ SCENES! They're so worth the wait, and UGH, so freaking good! The betrayal that comes, it's insane I knew we'd get something but holy crap. Also... when we meet a few people, try and remember them, it'll be key. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3.
Also...super important. Whatever you do, DO NOT throw your kindle or reading device.

What the He double hockey sticks was the ending?!?! i’m going to chomping at the bits to get book 3! I NEED to know what happens next!!! Zandar, Charlotte, Jade so many things left unsaid I am dying for next book because that cliffhanger was a doozy!
This book picks up where book 1 left off with Jade being held captive by the poo stain, Spencer (I like him a little better by the end of this book but for now poo stain). Naturally, Jade stabbs herself because what else she was supposed to do (like the boss she is…. literally and figuratively). The rest of the guys find her and they discover who Froggie really is (and no I’m not going to tell you). They work together to find the rest of the rings and the auction which Jakes dad (Jake by the way isn’t half bad once you get to know) runs. Randall, Jakes dad, is obsessed with Jade and makes it his mission to own her throughout this book.
Let me preface this by saying the ending of this book got me feeling some type of way because all these characters deserve so much better and I swear to god if they don’t get their HEA soon I might scream at the injustice of it all.

I hate it when work comes in the way of my reading, but unfortunately it has been one of those weeks. So, finally I managed to finished the second installment and did offer some surprising revelations. I love it when there is a slightly unexpected twist to a story and Sara Hinds provided exactly what I have been craving for.
Jade's connection to the guys develops and it was nice to see Roderick in a different light. Not sure what Jake's role would be in all this, but apart from being Randall's son I wonder whether he would be taking a more prominent role in the main heroine's life. Spencer is still in denial and I love the little bickering between him and Jade, delightful. Now, what was that saying, those who fall last, fall the hardest- curious to see whether that would be the case. Of course, my heart is set on Kratos and although the other MMCs are quite interesting, to me he has strongest connection to Jade.
The thing that bugged me a bit here was this entire story with Randall, I did not see the point of both simply taking him down asap.

Ok ok…I'll admit that my Spencer was a tool in this book, but I still love him. Sorry, not sorry. Outwardly, his actions are…hmm…angering? I can't think of a proper word that won't get censored. Anyway, the author gave us the gift of his POV so you know he's not ALL jerk.
I feel so vindicated knowing I was right about who Froggie was! Huzzah! ~fist pump~ However, now we are on to bigger and badder things. Soooo much to wrap my head around. The last half-ish of the book just about killed me off with the widow's web of secrets, lies, and betrayal. Talk about wanting to hurl your Kindle across the room! Luckily, I didn't do that or else we wouldn't be here now.
Super spicy things going on in book 2, my friends! Jade has her needs well taken care of! Whew!
Whatever you do, don't underestimate Vengeance City. If you do, you'll desperately wish you hadn't.

This second book picks right up where the last book leaves off on a cliffhanger. When new information comes to light for the guys, how will they handle it? They still need to maintain their mission to keep Jade safe as they were told to do. But what about the rings? Will they by helping to find out where the last one is and help to take it down? Will they be able to keep Jade safe in the process?
This was a good installment in the series. I do agree that there were times that it felt like it had some extra filler in the storyline, overall I feel that it was good. There was more character building and some relationships became stronger and went to the next level. There were some things that will be interesting to see if they become relevant later. This second book ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to pick up the next book to see what happens next.

Seeking Vengeance
I'm not sure if I'd call this a harem exactly atleast not til what the next book is. Because even though the guys won't acknowledge their feeling for her. It's only Trent and Zan mostly. And even barely. The story is ok but usually in a dark book like this the steam is high and usually by almost all the guys by mid second book. I found it kind of boring a bit hense the 4 stars. I dont give more or less then 4 unless it's really bad which it isn't just a bit boring. People fighting their feelings is boring. It's ok for 1st book but after that not really. Imo if you like the very slow steam harem building which alot do and there isn't anything wrong with that this book is for you. I will read the 3rd as I need to know what happened and who she recognized took her. And I've already read the 2 so I'll finish it out. Please enjoy. The author did well on the story just wish the harem and spice was more that's all.

I DNFd at 8% because I am no longer able to put up with all of the plot inconsistencies.

We are meant to believe Jade is the head of a criminal organisation, but has no concept of money. Krakos admits she had a burner phone, but didn't know how to use the phone given to her earlier. Spencer supposedly emailed 'Froggie' for permission to interrogate Jade...so now she knows how to email now? Krakos says she was on the street when she wasn't in a trafficking ring, but she doesn't know basic food? She spent a week with Krakos in his home when she was 13...but she's never had a hot shower?
There are so many more plot holes that it's doing my head in and I am usually more than willing to suspend belief for a story, but this is just too much to look over for me.
