Rate this book
She’s fallen for the biggest traitor in Scottish history. But are the history books right?

Love has never been on emergency nurse Emma’s radar. But after an ancient well catapults her into the distant past, she crosses paths with a troubled yet sensitive man who threatens to steal her heart. But then she makes a terrible discovery: she’s falling for the biggest traitor in Scotland’s history.

Deeply distrustful of women, highlander Jamie Campbell is careful to keep an arm’s distance between himself and the beautiful young healer. But beneath his façade, Emma sees a kind-hearted warrior who’s wrestling with conflicting feelings. She begins to realize that Jamie can’t possibly be the infamous traitor she read about in her history books.

After a poisoned drink leaves one of their clan almost dead, Emma and Jamie are thrust into a race against time to unmask a shadowy killer. As they struggle to trust one another, Emma finds herself torn between returning home to her father or protecting the man she’s come to admire – and she finds it increasingly difficult to resist the magnetic attraction between them...

But when secrets come out and Jamie discovers Emma’s past, can he handle the truth? Or will their mutual fear of love send Emma back across the centuries?

Step into a historical enemies-to-lovers romance that sees two troubled souls brought together in a magnetic and explosive love story. With period-perfect detail and all the beauty of the Scottish highlands, Trusting Her Highlander is a novel you won’t want to miss. Scroll up and grab your copy now...

Can Our History Books Get It Wrong?

by Barbara Kelley

Trusting Her Highlander: A Scottish Historical Time Travel Romance is Book 3 of this series, beautifully written by Laura Wells. Book 1 is about Lizzie Ferguson, a historian from Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in the year 2022, who falls into an enchanted well in Llyn, Scotland of the Highlands of Scotland, and who falls in love with John McEwan, a Scottish Laird's son in 1452 who is supposed to die, along with many of his army, in a war with a neighboring clan who wants the McEwan land. Will Lizzie change history and decide to stay with John, instead of returning to her own time? Book 2 is about Harvey Griffin, a former Bodyguard and Secret Service man from Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., who leaves a five-year-old daughter, Skylar with her deceased mother's parents while he takes a much-needed two week vacation with his best friend to Llyn, Scotland. He falls into a different enchanted well in the same countryside of Scotland, and falls in love with a beautiful Scottish warrior woman, Isabel McEwan of 1452, who is the younger sister of John McEwan, and daughter to the Scottish Laird. This book occurs just a couple of weeks after Book 1 ended. Harvey needs to find a way back to his little girl, so that she won't think he abandoned her. Will Isabel decide to go with him or stay in her own time. Book 3 is about Emma Forbes, a young emergency Room Trauma Nurse who is from Llyn, Scotland. She has grown up with hearing stories from her father about the history of Scotland and the story if the greatest traitor in Scottish history, that being Jamie Campbell who is said to have murdered the beloved Scottish Laird. However, when Emma falls into an enchanted well, possibly the same one Harvey fell into, and she meets and falls in love with Jamie in 1453 Scotland (about a year after Book 2 ended), she soon realizes that history did not get the correct information. With her modern day nursing abilities, in a time in Scottish history where there was no modern day technological or medical amenities, Emma, considered a "healer" must find a way to save the people of medieval time, warn Jamie of future events, and possibly change the history books. She must find the person who is trying to frame Jamie, and she must fund the reasons why it occurred. The Scottish Highlander Tim-Travel series is one of my favorite new series' and I can hardly wait to read Book 4, which will be released in January 2023. I gave this book, as well as Books 1 and 2, a 5-star rating. I received an advanced reader copy and have given an honest and voluntary review.

Great historical time travel story

I have enjoyed this book. Emma and Jamie were meant to be together. If we could go back we would find a lot of things that happened.
