Women aren’t broken & don’t need fixing!!! It’s the system that’s the problem.

This book is a must-read for any leader wanting to achieve gender equality in the workplace. If you plan to lead a company or organization, this book is for you. In 2022, it is unacceptable that talented women are denied access to leadership positions due to gender inequality. Men almost never have to prove themselves as they ascend to leadership positions. Most women aren’t so lucky. Here, Joy Burnford offers some practical & insightful advice that could ultimately benefit everyone, not just women. With the frameworks Burnford has suggested, leaders can make small yet meaningful changes.

This is a must read for leaders, some of the sections in this book blew me away and fired me up ready to meet with HR and my Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging teams on what we can put in place within the business.

Gender equality is a huge topic and incredibly important. I will be recommending this a lot!

This book did repeat itself a little in places which I've knocked it down to 4 stars for.

As the leader of an organization - I found this book valuable. I do think that those who do not have control over HR policies and practices would struggle with the practicality of this book. It does, however, provide good insight and research on the pressures and challenges women face in the workplace and delves into the fact that the modern workplace does not work from many women.

This book has a very specific target audience: people in management positions that are already very aware of the gender gap issue and want some concrete advice, tips and tricks on how to deal with it. The tips given were not bad, it was simply not the type of book that I was looking for.

At times, this one was a bit of a slog, while other sections were easy to whip through. The feedback and examples of how major corporations execute on the different tactics is great.

A good read with useful suggestions. Felt repetitive at times, but it is designed to also be read in sections with many of the topics overlapping so that is understandable.
