Being kidnapped to a galaxy one hundred million lightyears away from Earth is not how Cyra pictured her twenty-first birthday.
And her abductor is a sarcastic, drunken wretch that tells her that her life on Earth was ploy to keep her safe for sixteen years until it was time to bring her home.
Cyra is skeptical when she's told that she is a part of a long foretold prophecy that she along with a king will save Eredet galaxy from mass extinction.
As she navigates the secrets of her birth planet, Solis, she uncovers devastating curses that steal the energetic life force from her people, sending them to a painful, early grave.
But when Cyra’s eye wanders to a man who she is not destined to be with, she must come to terms that love might not be in the cards for her if she has any hope of fulfilling her divine fate. And that is not something to be taken lightly.
Because The Creator of the universe has died, and there is no one to hear their cries for help.
What a magical debut! A fit recommendation for fans of SciFi fantasy with the Chosen One trope! ❤️
The story begins fast paced as Cyra is kidnapped from her home on Earth and taken to another galaxy. Her life literally turns upside down as she discovers not only that she is a princess, but also that the fate of an entire galaxy rests on her shoulders. Cyra has no choice but to fall into the role expected of her and try to save her true homeland, Solis.
Some tropes included that I love: arranged marriage, found magic and found family, as well as a slow burn romance 🔥 I loved how cunning and charming Theo was, he reminded me of Nikolai from grishaverse. Kane on the other hand seemed like the opposite: dark and mysterious. The dialogues were not so smooth as I was hoping for, it felt a bit disconnected at times, but I still enjoyed their interactions! One character I could not stand was Adelram, I didn’t know who I wanted to kill more: him or the guardians ! 😂
I was intrigued by the whole magic system and the use of energy in this new galaxy. I sometimes felt like a clear delimitation to the different abilities and powers would have been useful, it felt a bit like “anything is possible”. However as you progress throughout the story, we absorb more and more details about this magical world that Clare Archer has created. I became really invested in the story and all the secrets it contained… The voidlings, the curse, the mystery behind the guardians, the prophecy… overall a magical and enjoyable debut!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ♨️♨️ <- Steam (it’s a slow burn) but it’s been a great slow burn.

OMG, First this is your debut novel? What! Congratulations on such an amazing book. Ok now For The book review. The world building in this book is phenomenal I was never confused about what anything was, or what was going on. I never wanted to put this book down. I was always thinking about it wondering what was going to happen next. We have are female main character Cyra who is amazing and full of determination and sass. she is coming to terms With What she has to become and do for the prophecy. I just know we will see many bad a** scenes with her. Then We have one of the MMC Theo I still don't know how I feel about him. He comes off as Prince Charming, but Leaves me with unease and questions most the time. Now we have the other MMC Kaanan 🥰. who has me feeling Giddy through most of this book. I just love his banter with Cyra, but not only her with almost everyone. And then we have Adelram, he is so grumpy, you can’t help but love him. Now it is a slowburn so I would not say there is spice, but it is steamy its Brewing, it’s filled with sexual tension to where it’s almost over flowing. And I am so here for that. and as for the ending it is a Cliffhanger, one I did not see coming , and I am still thinking about the ending of this book. I am definitely in A book hangover because of it. And I cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of their journey in the Books ahead. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves Sarah J mass books, or Jennifer L Armentrout books, or if you just want a good romantasy read.
This was a fast-paced, easy read! The plot was intriguing, and while I didn’t fully connect with the FMC, Cyra, I did enjoy the storyline enough to see it through to the end.
The Divine Oblivion is the author’s debut novel and I do see potential in this story AND author. I do think there are some things that could’ve been fleshed out a bit better. Some of the dialogue felt forced and choppy which kinda threw me out of the story as I skimmed those parts.
All in all, it’s a good debut! If you love sci-fi fantasy with fated mates, intriguing plots and magic systems this is definitely the book for you!
This book took me an excessive amount of time to read and I hate this. Especially because it started off kind of good but proceeded to descend into total trashiness and nonsense. The first thing I want to point out is that the ‘sci-fi’ marketing makes no sense. There’s a brief scene on a spaceship, and just because the main character goes to another planet is not enough to define the book as such. It’s simply fantasy, just say that.
Characters I don’t feel comfortable saying that the characters are the weak point of the book just because everything else is a weak point too. But the characters are really something. Cyra, the main character, is supposed to be 21 and manages to perpetually act as an annoying teenager with raging hormones, lusting after two guys and leading them both on. She comes off as arrogant and self-centred in so many occasions: she believes her best friend Brendon would be ‘reminded of a life lost’ by going to the arcade where her Earth parents work because she has disappeared; she says ‘she doesn’t need anyone’ just because she’s received a pair of rusted daggers and has done a total of 2 hours of failed training. She’s also conveniently dumb, reading that Amrel is ‘the creator of all life’ in a record written by Amrel himself, but proceeds to deny the fact until someone else says so, so that she can act surprised; and then she later says that she didn’t really take him seriously so that she can act surprised a second time. But we are constantly reminded not only that ‘she’s not like other nobles’ because she simply talks to working class people and simply says she wants to help (without actually doing so), but also that ‘she’s not like other girls’ because she is a musical prodigy, she can use watercolours (one of the most difficult mediums to use) and crochets! But don’t be fooled, she only know the basics of swimming! She does almost nothing for the entirety of the book, except play music, paint down her emotions and burn down her clothing in front of Kane while training, and all to tell us that she wants to get better and help the people, but actually doing nothing.
The fact that secondary characters only exist to admire her and gush about her only points out how shallow they are and how unnecessary it is that they are immortal beings; and the fact that the love interests are ancient…why are we still doing this? Some characters are mentioned once and then never seen again, some are just plain useless and serve as a background or as someone to tell Cyra one of the countless stories that are told in this book. Theo is so stupid that I really don’t understand how his power is supposed to be empathy: he says he can feel Cyra’s emotions from a distance but never notices how horny she is for Kane, and the only time he feels something is off about those two is when she’s relieved that Kane hasn’t died. Also, the fact that there’s only one black character, not even secondary for how marginal he is, and that he’s the only character whose skin colour is described apart from the grey skinned Varjun…is indicative. The villains are very funny. There’s this simultaneous (and probably involuntary) association of the villains with nazi-like behaviours and antisemitic stereotypes that really shows how poorly the villains were researched and written. They don’t do anything concrete in the book but are said to have done this and that, only appear 4 or 5 times and do nothing except threaten and destroy monuments; they appear again at the end of the book just to refute what was said at the beginning of the book about them being ‘invincible’. Any ‘threat’ they represent is soon solved really easily and with no explanation provided, and with little to no consequences.
World building and magic system Bad. Just bad and almost non existent. We’re always told scattered pieces of information about the magic system and world building throughout the book, nothing is explained and things are a certain way just because someone said so or because they need to be like that. No music since I don’t know when? No questions asked by our Cyra, that’s just how it is! These people know almost every language, and mention an ‘old language’ despite sampling from other languages for terms like Reina, Karalis and Bellum, which lead to think that they actually have no language of their own. It’s mentioned that days are longer than they are on Earth, but somehow timeframes are still fucked up, and the term ‘hour’ is freely used while seemingly having no real value. And despite this difference, Cyra is never shown to need to adjust to it.
Writing The writing was so inconsistent that I sometimes even considered giving the book two stars; but when I really think about it the writing was just bad. “I nodded to her and her shoulders dropped and she picked up her head and stood before him”; this is just an example of a clearly unedited sentence. There are so many chapters that begin with Cyra waking up that, when picking the book back up, I often had to check what happened in the previous chapter to remember where I had left off; there are countless long, boring and useless descriptions, especially of every dress and hairstyle that Cyra has; I really don’t care about the style of her dresses or what side of her neck her chignon sits, and I don’t need a detailed description of her watercolour artwork that is then discarded and never mentioned again. They are useless and take away from the story, and when the story is that bad, they only prolong the agony of reading.
There are so many inconsistencies or convenient nonsense that made reading insufferable, like a shop owner immediately understanding that Cyra is the Reina but a scene later everyone on the same street is surprised when she’s revealed to be the Reina; the fact that only a Fenix can enter the family grounds but the key to access those ground is a ring identical to one that Theo possesses too; we’re clearly told that no place is safe to talk unless it’s been somehow shielded and then our main cast has a very private conversation in the middle of a room filled with people; Adelram is supposed to do a very simple mind-reading to discover how to help the Voidlings…and this is dragged on until almost the end of the book for no reason. So much is told and narrated in this book but very little is shown, and the fact that there’s little to no plot made the book boring and dragged; Cyra is supposed to be the chosen one to defeat this great evil, but the whole book either talks about the fact that she has to defeat this great evil or drags those two or three things that actually show this evil along the whole book, essentially repeating the same things over and over again: yes, there’s an entire race being enslaved, yes people are getting sick, yes Amrel sacrificed himself for her (I don’t actually understand why), yes Cyra “wants to help”, but what else?
Other things that made me go ?? - I did not like the fact that Theo actually has a say in the whole Voidling business and condones their exploitation because “he doesn’t know how to help such creatures” and “they would be left to their wasteland of a planet to shrivel and die”. He literally says “At least here, just maybe a simple task can take their mind off their perpetual agony” ??? This asshole justifies the enslavement of an entire race with “so they can take their mind off their pain”? Am I supposed to be okay with this? - Amrel being the ‘creator of all life’ and somehow thinks Cyra is best off living on Earth because it’s the best place to ‘live away from power, greed and danger’…first of all, if the universe is so vast and filled with life as they say in the book then it’s really sad that Earth is shown as the best place to live away from all that stuff; and the fact that Amrel chose the United States of all places to keep her away from all that and to learn the ‘invaluable lessons’ given by ‘acts of forgiveness, altruism and supporting others’ is even more depressing. - ‘Tiny dick’ joke - Some slight Avatar and HP rip off mechanics - Just stupid things happening at the very end just to create drama - “MASCULINE FURNISHING”???????? WHAT IS THAT??? DICK SHAPED ARMCHAIRS????
I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review and this represents my honest opinion.
What a great debut novel! I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish.
This is a NA SciFi/Fantasy with romance, painful pining, training montages, world-ending stakes, unbelievably evil villains, and good-hearted main characters. It’s a lot of fun!
Cyra is snatched from her normal life on earth and learns that she is actually the lost heir from another planet- and it’s now her responsibility to save the day and prevent the collapse of life itself. She is bold and speaks her mind (even when it’s inappropriate) and she’s dedicated to her cause. She’ll do whatever it takes to save her people.
The world is interesting, the magic system is unique (and still pretty mysterious at this point), and the characters are compelling. Most of the characters come from awful backgrounds and they just want to save their respective peoples.
There’s an odd love triangle situation going on here- it honestly took me a while to figure out who were supposed to be the ~actual~ love interests. At this point I could see Cyra ending up with anyone 👀.
The dialogue is quite cheesy and so are some of Cyra’s antics, but I’m a cheese lover so I ate it all up.
3.5 for sure! Fates mates + Sci-fi + Magic Systems = great first book! Cyra was a bit hard to connect with but this book definitely sets up so much for the next that I cannot wait to read!
Debut novel… what?! This is a book where my mind is left reeling. Here’s your warning that it may lead to a big book hangover - in the best way possible. It’s so good. I sighed, laughed, yelled (internally) and cried while reading it.
When I started reading the story, I thought it would be a fun read, but there was no way I could ever imagine how absolutely massive this story would get. It just kept building, more and more layers were added, and it’s just mind blowing. It’s on a scale that is almost hard to comprehend.
The world building Clare has done here is fantastic. She didn’t just create a world actually, she created a whole galaxy! There is a unique system of magic, found family, animal bonds, a chosen one from prophecy and fated mates. I absolutely loved the snarky banter, Clare’s timing is really good, the story flows well and does not drag at all.
The slow/medium burn was excruciating at some points, but I’m sure that book 2 in the series will make the suffering worth it. I was firmly team Kaanan as soon as his unspeakable backside was mentioned.
From the Creator of Life, all the way down to the Voidlings, I loved the characters, human and otherwise. They are well developed, relatable, and their emotion so palpable. I do hope that the Guardians die incredibly slow and painful deaths, as I’m sure you will too.
May the wind through the trees bring your soul peace as well.
This debut novel was such a fun read! The beginning was kind of fast paced and hectic, but at the same time it REALLY drew me in!
I love the world building, and the descriptions of it just sound magical! Especially Laine! I do wish there was more explanation of the varieties in the elemental magical system (which might happen in book 2 along with spice 🤞🤞).
I could do with less swearing as well, but it didn't bother me that much.
The characters are pretty great. Cyra is definitely a strong MC. Theo is so sweet and perfect. Kane is deliciously mysterious. For the record, I've been betting on the dark/silent love interest from the start!
Clare needs to hurry up and release the second book sooner! I NEED it!!

My gratitude to the author for sending a copy of the book!
This book was fun to read. Chapter 1 sucks you right into the story. It's a really good, fast-paced start. There is so much creative world building in this syfy/fantasy book. I liked Cyra from the start. She is a nerdy gamer girl whose life gets thrown into a role she never knew she would play and literally is destined to save her home world. She is discovering who she was called to be "Reina of Solis, destroyer of the Guardians." There is a bit of a love interest triangle. One man, she is pulled to by fire-lit burn and the other she was destined to marrage since before her birth. One is dark, and the other is light. One challenges and tests her and the other comforts and shelters her. It ends on a cliffhanger, but the second book is on its way. I will be waiting for it.

I haven’t read a really good extraterrestrial, other worldly type book in quite a long time so this book was an amazing surprise. The fantasy aspects and world building were amazing. I would fall asleep reading this book and dream about the world, that’s how detailed it is! Cyra is such a strong female character and I love that she embraces her destiny.
Cyra who lives a normal, average life on earth is “kidnapped” by a strange other worldly man and taken in a spaceship to a whole other galaxy where she learns she is destined to be a queen or “Reina” on a planet light years away. She is a fish out of water but slowly learns her abilities and grows to love her new existence with a whole new family of sorts.
It’s definitely a must read for anyone that loves fantasy, epic quests, and found family.
Excellent evidence that most vanity publications should never have seen print. This was marketed as a novel for adults but it's juvenile. Cyan, or whatever her name is, is a twenty-one year old living with her parents and not really working. She's really a hidden princess from another galaxy brought to our planet in secret to grow up safely. Her grandfather didn't tell her this and the guy the grandfather had come get her kidnaps her where there is no reason to do so. Cyan's absolute lack of surprise as a spaceship flying at faster than light speed while still having a view of the Milky Way is dumb, as well as the science.
The first three guys she meets are gorgeous hunks and the author lets us know she wets her panties. She's sent to a trope kid's class on magic for only a couple of hours when one of the guys could have quickly done the testing in private.
You might have noticed spaceship and magic. The author tries to combine SF and fantasy to poor, dumb, effect. There's no framework. We're told magic will destroy the entire galaxy, which sounds like utter nonsense.
The author is throwing together a jumble of ideas without enough thought to hold interest. I wanted to give it at least two-stars, because the basics of writing seem to be well done; but the story was so childish that I could only get a quarter of the way through the book before giving up. One.
Loved this book! The world building was incredibly detailed and the characters were relatable even when the situations were not. Can't wait for the sequel!
On the night of her 21st birthday, Cyra is kidnapped from her room by a man with silvery eyes and slate grey skin. He takes Cyra away in a spaceship to a place called Solis. Adelram originally had taken Cyra’s memories when she was 16, per Cyra’s grandfather Amrel’s instruction, and Amrel took Cyra to her adopted human parents until the time came she had to return home to Solis. Cyra finds out she may be the one that was prophesied by an Oracle named Siare who said: “The girl with the divine mark shall deliver balance back to the Eredet galaxy with a king blessed by the sun”. And now Cyra not only has to learn to be a princess she never knew she was, but also learn her powers and the people around her and why the ones called the Guardians give her nightmares.
Some things I liked: I have not read many sci-fi fantasies and so it was refreshing to read this book. It’s a large world, and some tropes I love in this are the fated mates and found family tropes. There is some banter in here as well and a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more!
Now, some things I didn’t quite enjoy: the female MC was rather annoying to me personally. She acted more like she was 16 rather than 21. I also did not really get the dynamic between her, Adelram, Theo and and Kane. Oh and Meili. I can see how the author was attempting the found family trope, but it never felt very believable to me because of the animosity between Theo and Kane, and the differences between their people.
And then there’s the romance, or romances? I think there’s supposed to be a love triangle in here, but I just got the impression that Cyra does not know what she wants and is lusting after these two hot guys that she meets. And rather than just making her own decisions, she’s allowing this so-called prophecy to decide her fate when she could make her own decision. I just think for someone who has decided to marry Theo, she should not lead Kane on as much as she does on this book.
And then I don’t get Adelram and what his issue is. The banter that is in this book between him and Cyra did not seem like banter to me, it was just rather annoying, because he was just being rude, basically on purpose, and it wasn’t funny to me, and Cyra, instead of trying to maybe figure him out, she just would yell at him and call him a jerk all the time. There just seem to be a lot of unnecessary drama in here when it could’ve all been avoided with more communication between the characters, especially when Cyra is trying to learn about who she really is and the world she comes from. Speaking of which, I don’t really understand why it states that her memories were given back when she doesn’t seem to remember anything through the entire book except for a couple things. It does state that her memories will come back in pieces, but I guess I don’t really understand why that would be when all her memories are given back to her on the spot, but then they come back in pieces?
I just really did not connect with any of the characters, and about halfway through the book I kind of just started losing interest, because all the characters started to just annoy me, aside from Kane, who I actually think is a fantastic character, especially when you learn who his dad is.
This is more of a 2.5 ⭐️ read for me. I think this book actually has potential, but it just wasn’t really for me. However, that shouldn’t deter others since I think many would enjoy this book, it just wasn’t for me. If you love unique reads that are a mix of sci-fi and fantasy sprinkled with some romance and banter, this one’s for you!
I received a free gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

⮞ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ⮜ Cyra was definitely a funny character. I liked how geeky she was and even tho she was brought to a new world without much explanation in the beginning she kind of adapted pretty quickly. I liked she was mature enough but also childlike in some situations - which for her age seemed just perfect. Kane is such a mysterious and hard-to-crack character, it didn't give me much information other than interesting vibes and lots of questions that I hope are going to be explained in the next book because Kane right now is an enigma! Theo, perhaps there's something wrong with me, but he wasn't my fave character lol. I felt him to not be genuine, I felt he is pretending and something about him feels off - I'm definitely curious about what we're gonna find out more about him. However, Adelram he's definitely a crazy character but loyal.
⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜ The world-building was definitely spectacular and I've enjoyed it a lot the way they were "driving" around, the world they lived in was so beautiful and you get so many information about it that makes you want to live in it.
⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜ The pace of the story was just perfect. It kept me on my toes from the beginning to the end and I had no boring moments. One thing that I felt it off was the conversation between the characters, I felt at some point they were either blending into each other or the way they were talking was very similar - considering that Adelram and the rest of the characters were coming from another world and they were superior than the earth people their conversations and the way they were talking was just... not depicting that. Cyra's way of conversing made sense because she was coming from the earth and wasn't royalty but the rest, I felt they lacked that royal type of conversation to make them stand out. Other than that I enjoyed a lot the tricks Kane was playing on Cyra with his magic. I do hope on the next book we get a bit more information on the magic system because I felt some details lacking and you were just "okay" with whatever magic each one of them was having without much explanation given.
⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜ There are no spicy scenes in the book nor big triggers.
I was not completely sure what I was getting into but the synopsis was interesting enough I have this book a try. And what a good decision that was!
The story starts with our main character being kidnapped from her home on her 21st birthday to a galaxy far away from Earth while being told she is a vital part of a long foretold prophecy about saving galaxy she’s taken to from extinction.
I was very intrigued by the world. There are lots of secrets to be uncovered and a curse that steals the energy life force from the people. And the time is TICKING. The story is mysterious and atmospheric. And while I would welcome more details about the world and history (and basically everything) I was feeling with these people and wanted to help them and figure out what was going on.
I was intrigued by the magic and it’s use in this galaxy and there for sure is something more to it than author lets us know so far.
One thing that bumped me was that characters NEVER get back to conveniently interrupted conversations about CLEARLY important stuff. NEVER!
I hope at least some of those will get explained in the sequel!
Instead, we get countless (and I mean countless) ‘romantic gestures’ from character that is obviously not the right one. We got a love triangle here with VERY indecisive ‘chosen’ girl (’ahh, but I am just a simple girl, it surely is not true’ trope), ‘fated’ boy, and mysterious brooding fight teacher. And of course both boys are extremely sexy, and muscular, with beautiful eyes. If that is your thing, you’ll LOVE this book. It is not my thing but the world events were enough for me to stay interested in the story.
I picked this book up because it is advertised as fantasy, scifi, romance and I was hoping for less romance and more scifi. Nope :D There is almost no scifi element, it’s basically fantasy romance with one spaceship trip.
It is an OK debut (I think it is a debut) and even though there is a lot more that could’ve been done better (yeah, I’ve not written about eeeverything, we would be here for a long time. It’s been all said here already so I suggest reading more reviews :D ) I am still glad I was able to read this book and will for sure read the sequel because the story ended up with a cliffhanger of course :D
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review!

Review: Wow - I read this story as a beta and Clare has taken it to another level.
Characters - 5 stars Every character has a role to play in Cyra's life, whether they simply show her love, give her life, friendship, or heartbreak. Clare took my heart and pulled it through a cobweb of emotions that I felt so deeply. I'm not happy with you right now! In the best way! Cyra's growth through the book is the best!
Relationships - So good, I'm torn but have my heart set at the same time Be careful, not everyone is as they seem.
World Building - Genius level! The world we know is so small in comparison to the universe that The Creator has made and the integral part that must be maintained for order and life
Magic System - unique! Perfection, there’s still so much more to come and reveal!
Burn - The slow burn is painfully delicious! The spice will increase with the next book and I cannot wait to see the progression in our character’s relationships.

This is one of the most unique stories I have read. It's not precisely sci-fi but it is not your typical fantasy and yet falls somewhere in between the two. This is a debut novel and for that fact alone it is outstanding. Sci-fi is not my particular taste however, this book might make me delve into it a bit more.
We are met with a plain girl from Arkansas (shout out to my state!) when she is whisked away to a whole different galaxy and planet. Talk about a rude awakening.
This story is one that keeps you wondering when the other shoe is going to drop, it seems that everything is "too easy" but you know.... you just know something else is coming and it does.
I loved the world-building and while some of the scenes seem a bit rushed I have no doubt that this is going to be a solid series and I can't wait to read more. I absolutely loved how we honestly aren't sure what in the world is going on, in such a delicious way. I loved the side characters so much, even as much as the FMC.
This slow burn is going to be the death of me, it does have a hint of a love triangle.
Does end on a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger that made me say explicits and also grin from ear to ear.

What I loved: Cyra is kidnapped on her 21st birthday from earth and told that she is originally from a world called Solis. And not human.
On top of that she is told she is the planets only hope for salvation, as a curse is draining their magic and killing their people. So yeah, you can imagine she's a bit shocked.
Without giving away too much, here's what else you'll find in TDO ೃ⁀➷
🖤 Training sequences (hint, hint, flirting happens) 🖤 Love triangle 🖤 Slow Burn 🖤 Curses 🖤 Found Family 🖤 Underwater creatures 🖤 Multiple smaller threats along the way of trying to defeat the main threat 🖤 Flying boats 🖤 Murder 🖤 Betrayal 🖤 Gorgeous and unique world
I truly loved this world and the story Clare has dreamed up and given to us. I think this series is going to be amazing. And one of the love interests has me swooning. 😍 The other one seems fishy to me. 🤣
Why 4.25🌟 instead of 5? The conversations between characters at times felt a little forced or a little awkward.
I need more about how the magic works, how the abilities are "given" and how certain people have "A-Z" powers and potential and others only have "A."
And something that can completely become a non issue for me after book two: A lot of issues arose for the FMC and none were fully solved or fleshed out in book one. AKA a lot of doors were flung wide open and none were closed by the end, so now the MCs have a lot of doors to choose from in book two. Haha
*There were some typos throughout the book and that's not part of my rating. Just a side note for the editor, alphas & betas for book two. Especially with how much time and effort and money I'm sure Clare has put into this project.* 🖤🖤

The plot is intriguing where Cyra (FMC) was kidnapped and brought home to save her ‘true’ home. The world building is expanding as the story progress and it was being explained step by step without any info-dumping at the beginning.
Most of the characters are likeable, I like seeing through Cyra’s POV as she explore her home and learning her magic powers. I also like her growing relationship with Meili, the staff and the community outside the palace.
As for the love interests, I adore both of them cause each has their own charm although I think I’m liking the mysterious one compare to the cinnamon roll one (this is just me but I think there’s something off about him…)
As much as I love the world building and the character, the magic system is a bit confusing at first. Not to mention some people has different powers that wasn’t explain much in the story. I hope there’ll be more information as the series progress. The action parts feels too rushed, some parts feels like it was resolved too quickly. Also the dialogue feels a bit stiff at times.
Overall for a debut novel, this is a good start. Some parts can be developed as the series goes. I still enjoy reading this whole book and I’m interested to know more about Crya and the love interests. I’ll keep an eye out for the sequel!
Thank you to RRBookTours and the author for giving me an e-ARC of the book and for having me on this book tour. I’m leaving this review voluntarily!
Happy Release Day Clare Archer!!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this book!
The Divine Oblivion is a sci-fi romance. Cyra is celebrating her 21st birthday with her family while also grieving the recent loss of her grandfather. The whole day, her family tells her to not go anywhere alone, but once in the safety of her own bedroom - she’s captured by a man with glowing silver eyes.
When Cyra wakes up, she finds herself alone in a spaceship with the mysterious silver eyed man who tells her that she’s really from an alien planet and she was hidden on Earth with her human family. Faced with the knowledge that nothing in her life is as it seems, Cyra begins a journey that spans entire galaxies
This book was such a fun and engaging read for me! Cyra is a strong and vibrant character and I adored her journey throughout this book. The world building was absolutely fantastic! This book had sci-fi elements but also created a fantasy planet with its own magic system and lore! The side characters were well developed and I adored them all!! The story was so beautifully written that I just couldn’t put it down
Overall this was a five star read for me - I’m still thinking about this book days after finishing it! I just am not ready to leave this world and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!! There’s some kisses and flirting but no on page smut - so one flame for spice.
If you like sci-fi, fantasy romance with strong characters, sassy banter, beautiful world building and political intrigue with some tension filled slow burn, then this book is for you!!!
On her 21st birthday, Cyra is abducted and whisked away to another galaxy and planet called Solius, where she finds out, she was born. Solius though is dying and as she is its rightful Reina, their Queen for all intents and purposes, it's up to her to figure out the why and how to stop it. With more questions than answers, Cyra is taken on the adventure of a lifetime where she might find more than she bargained for.
In her magical debut, The Divine Oblivion carves out its spot in the galaxy and fantasy/romance/sci-fi genres. Clare Archer has woven a spectacular story that is quickly devoured but the slow burn of it lets you savor every detail.
The world or I should say galaxy, building Archer has done here is fantastic and the magic system is something that I haven't read before. It also features some of the readers' favorite tropes like found family, a prophetic chosen one, fated mates, arranged marriage, and more. The characters are alright, though Cyra does seem a bit immature - she feels more like a mid-to-late teen than an early adult, but it gives Archer an excellent way to show how Cyra matures as the story goes on.
It does end on a cliffhanger, which is very promising for at least a sequel, that drops jaws and leaves you wanting to know what happens next.
Overall, this was an enthralling story that makes readers want more.
Thank you to Clare Archer and RRBookTours for an e-ARC of the book to read and review.
This was a great read! Amazing debut books for this author! The story even though a sci-fi fantasy book was easy to understand and follow without getting confused in any of the world-building, magic systems, and in differentiating between the characters.
The characters were complex and all had their flaws and strengths, and their personalities helped in connecting easily with them and the story. The plot of this book was captivating and unique keeping you hooked and wanting to read more from start to end. I loved the world-building in this book I was able to picture the world and the setting of scenes easily with the descriptions given.
The story progresses really well and the reader learns quite a bit about the world and its characters in this book! The romance and love interests are well established and are given the proper amount of time to get to know them as a reader while the romance builds throughout the book. I loved the ending of this book! Everything was wrapped up well and you get answers to the questions that needed them. The questions left unanswered though leave you wanting more of this amazing world and its characters!
Can't wait to read more about these characters and the world that Clare Archer has created! This is a great read that I would recommend reading if you love Sci-fi, Fantasy, found family, enemies to lovers, and a great and captivating story that will keep you reading all night long!
This is the debut book by Clare Archer. The Divine Oblivion is book one in a continued series that I recommend reading in order.
This story follows Cyra who is kidnapped from Earth and taken to Solis. She discovers that she is the long lost Princess to this planet and is a chosen one in a prophecy to save them from destruction. Cyra must learn everything there is to know about the planet, her history and a magic system that she knows absolutely nothing about. She also has to navigate keeping secrets and discovering who the good guys are and who the bad guys are in order to survive.
This book is a wonderful mix between fantasy and sci-fi. Cyra is a strong character who I think has at times some immaturity but will grow over the course of the series. I love the 2 love interests and look forward to finding out more about them...Im not sure about Theo....I think there is just something off about him. He is the cinnamon role in this story. Almost too good to be true. Then there is Kane...Of course I am in love with the dark warrior who has secrets that I need to know the answer too. He is who I am rooting for. I Would like to have seen a bit more world building for this story as there is so much information. Maybe a book glossary would help with remembering all the info. The magic system is pretty intricate and I would have loved more detail on that aspect of the story. The Voidlings truly broke my heart and I am hoping for a cure... Their situation really pulled at my heartstrings. As I said there is a lot of history within this story and I am hoping within the next few books we get more detailed information on this. Overall this story was pretty fast paced and kept my attention. The last 1/3 of the book was very exciting and heartbreaking at the same time. I am looking forward to continuing this series and see where Clare takes us. This story gets 4 stars from me.
”It is one thing to know the ending of a story, but another thing entirely to live through the trauma of it.”
The Divine Oblivion brings us along this story of Cyra, the reina of Solis who didn’t know she was in line to a throne.
This book is a debut novel by Clare Archer and I can clearly tell all the work and creativity that went into writing this novel. Like most novels that are first in a series, it has a lot of world building that one may not find useful until further books come along. I really liked the pace of the novel and didn’t feel as if it were rushed. It can be clearly noted that the author wants us to know everything that may be useful in the future.
At first I was a little confused about who the MMC character was because there were a lot of men being presented and somehow the FMC found them all attractive in a way. I mean, not complaining but it did take me a while to decipher the importance/role of each character. I did find some repetitions along the book, but once again it’s because of all the world building.
Although Kane was this dark and mysterious character, he was definitely my favorite. Theo was really sweet and I loved how he made Cyra feel.
Due to the ending and the amazing world building, I most definitely would like to continue and see what happens to our main characters.
First , I would like to say thank you for this ARC! It was a magical read with action , suspense, and fun. TROPES: Strong FMC Slow burn romance Love triangle Whisked away to another world Found family Fantasy Sci-fi
I absolutely loved Cyra , she was smart , funny , and independent, however she is also very calculated and good at preparation. This being important to me personally and I feel so many FMC are rash and don’t think things through and are then saved by the MMC. I enjoyed the banter between characters and differences in relationship within this found family. Some being romantic love, friendly love, and sometimes just being able to have comfort of another person regardless of relationship. The villain is of course extremely evil with a common thirst for power trope that must be stopped but it is enjoyable with good twists. I loved the blend of magic with sci-fi setting as well. it’s totally worth a read and will have you unable to put this book down……. I won’t lie, I was secretly reading this during my zoom class today because I just couldn’t stop as I got closer to the end 🥰. Cannot wait for the story to continue and return to another galaxy once more.
This book kept me wanting more Spice/ Romance. Cyra the FMC had two deliciously handsome aliens at her disposal and she did not give us the spice I was hoping for. The only “spice” we get are kisses in between all the chaos of action going on in the plot.
This book is definitely YA. Spice level 🫑🤣
However I wanted to know more about the history of the characters and their lands. Clare Made it so that the reader would be interested and invested in the main plot.
This genre is definitely on my favs list now. The ending is just 😍👏🏼. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2 , hopefully more romance will take place.

This book had me dreaming about aliens 👾 lol!
*Side note I did notice some typos but I’m not sure if the copy I received was an arc paper back or the final product also they mention her dog dying like it would play a big role in the book but it does not so I was confused 😅*
Wow! Just wow! This book was everything I didn’t realize I wanted. But before I get into to that, I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Clare on release day! I just know this book is going to be loved by many.
I had the pleasure of reading an ARC copy and I cannot get over the fact that this is a debut novel. The world building, the characters, the magic and all of the little nuances in between still have me reeling. I can tell how much thought was put into The Divine Oblivion and that Clare just genuinely enjoyed writing it. I’ve always been a fan of fantasy romance and sci-fi romance, and to combine the two in one book…game changer! The only reasons I didn’t give it five stars is because some parts seemed a little repetitive, and it seemed to move a little too fast in parts. But OVERALL, it was so dang good, I honestly couldn’t care less about those things. The ending left me wanting more and I cannot wait for book 2! If you like a book that has these tropes: slow burn, fated mates, who did this to you?, found family, chosen one, and a love triangle (with many more we all love!)…then this is the book for you! You will not regret picking it up! Congratulations on an amazing book Clare! 🖤
Ok so when I first started reading, I was not sure how I was going to feel about it... I feel like the Prologue and first chapter or two seemed like a different author than the rest of the book. Once I got past the few awkward chapters I was completely blown away that this was a debut novel!
This was a somewhat unique plotline, and the world Clare has built is unlike any I have read before. I thoroughly enjoyed the snarkiness between her and her abductor. The fact that Cyra's abductor is not a love interest was a breath of fresh air. She has several different mythological creatures that are interesting and add so much fun to this story.
Theo and Kane are the opposites to each other. Kane is the dark to Theo's light.... I am here for it. Kane is the morally gray character that we have all come to love, but Theo is ultimately good. This is going to be a hard one.
The twist at the end was one I had sniffed out earlier in the story, however, I did not realize how this would come about and I was emotional.
It has a cliffhanger ending that will absolutely have you craving the second book immediately!
The storyline of this story is so intriguing and very unique. It's a very fast paced book which I really enjoyed about it. Everything that's needed to be known is and it's all written with clarity. There's a lot of information to take in but it's done so with ease and flows perfectly. There's quite a few main characters in this book but each one plays a role that defines them apart and gives them equal exposure to the reader. Cyra is thrown into a world where she is the prophecy but has to learn the ropes along the way as they find the answers to save them all.
I love the variety of characters that range from the creator of life to the voidlings to the guardians all those in between! Cyra is definitely one of a kind. You'll learn to hate the guardians...or at least I did. I love Theo and Kane for very different reasons. Kane is a very dark and mysterious man that growls when believes Theo is crossing lines when it comes to Cyra. Theo is very charming yet there is still a hint of something that I can't quite pin point yet. I can't wait to see what's next cause that ending had me on the edge of my seat!!
I loved this book! I love the world building and the magic system. It was written so well and clearly. I was able to picture the scenes so vividly. You feel the connection of the characters and the conflicts. The action was amazing. And it’s a nice slow burn relationships. Felt a range of emotions through the book and I love that!
I love Cyra. Thrown into a world that is new but familiar to her. Learning her life that she was taken from wasn’t all that she is. She has grown so much throughout the book. Feeling herself torn between Kane and Theo.
Speaking of Theo, even know he is so likable. So sweet and loving to Cyra. I feel like there is something not right about him. I’m probably just reading too into things.
I absolutely love Kane!! He is such a dreamy and hot man. You can feel the connection between him and Cyra too!! I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next with them.
I can’t stand the guardians! I hope to see them get what they truly deserve. You can see the darkness in there and all the corruption.
Just love this book so much! I can’t wait to read the next book and see what’s good to happen next!
