From the begin of the story you feel bad for Crystals life. A Divorce and moving to a new life with her new cottages home. Well things starts to change around that house. This book is a thriller and their triggers, be mindful if you dive into this one. The only their I a ghost but who and why it their.i recommend this book I give it a 5.
A dark and twisty ghost story that I couldn’t stop myself from devouring!
Wynter took me on such a trippy mindscrew with this thriller! If you have triggers, be mindful if you dive into this one.
Crystal had a heartbreaking intro, but I adored how this woman kept her head up and kept pushing forward. When others would break, she developed a determination to get peace that I admire so much.
Wynter had me glued to my kindle with this insane paranormal suspense tale. It’s dark, emotional and has twists that you may see coming, but you definitely won’t see the curve ball coming until the bittersweet end. I really enjoyed it and all the crazy darkness - I hope to see more stories like this from Wynter!
Let me start by saying, I absolutely love the cover—kudos to the designer. Normally, I steer clear of paranormal genres; they're just not my thing. So why did I decide to read this one? Someone recommended it, the cover intrigued me, and the blurb said, take a chance. And so, I dived in. From the moment I started, I was in for a ride. Is it romantic? Hell, No. There's nothing romantic here, even though, halfway through the story, I kept hoping Crystal would break through to him and turn things around. (Because the romantic in me always hopes for a villain's redemption.) Oh my gosh, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Crystal recently divorced, after a failed marriage of twenty-odd years to a psychopath, the same psychopath married Crystal’s sister within days of their divorce. (Shocking, you’re already siding with Crystal). She decides to move to the country and start a new life. Being an ex-botanist and avid painter she has big dreams of making a new home. But it seems not everyone is happy about her moving into her newly acquired house. Strange things start to happen. How do you explain r*p* when you can’t see the person? How do you explain someone destroying your garden, and your paintings and who is this person sharing the house with you? As Crystal delves deeper into the truths, she realizes she is living with a serial killer and she needs to devise a plan to set him up, so he can be captured, if not for her, for the dead women before her. But is everything as it seems to be, could Crystal be wrong? After all, not all secrets are taken to the grave. This book is a thriller with triggers – major ones! The story was gripping and shocking! But it kept you wanting to find out, and oh boy when you do - well I'll leave it there.
"It was the perfect distraction I needed to jolt me out from my misery...or was it? Because as I stood remembering the unnerving earlier events of that day, I was now left to question…so if Tom's all happily married, then who's inside this cottage with me?" - Crystal
A new beginning after an extremely abusive relationship... Just what Crystal needed. Unfortunately, her new life was NOT what she expected...
"..it's said if the dead could talk the truths we'd uncover would stun us cold. Well, I already know part of the truth..." - Crystal
A twisted, dark tale: A woman wounded by the ultimate betrayal. Desperate to rebuild her life, Crystal makes a decision that would haunt her forever... All who read this will be shocked at the ending
I dont normally read paranormal horror stories but this book hooked me from the start. Its perfect story to read on a long winter night while sitting next to roaring fire with a hot cup of coffee.
After a difficult marriage breakup the main female character, Crystal buys her first home, hoping the tranquil suburbs of Vermont New England will help her move on and heal her broken heart. But things are not what they seem and soon her life turns into her worst nightmare.
If you like dark, twisty, psychological thrillers that will make your heart beat faster and sit at the edge of your seat then dont wait go get your hands on this book.
This book was read after I have also read PenPal so it all felt a bit like deja vu, the storyline is different don't get me wrong, but because I read pen pal i knew something was up at chapter 8.
The ending was as the title promised disturbing and n€cr○ph!l!@ should definitely be on the top of the list of the tw's.
The writing was something to get used to, with the smh mentioned in a conversation for instance or the sound written out.

Phenomenal Book!! I instantly related to Crystal when I first started reading this book. Just when you think you have it figured out it takes a major twist. Great insight into the paranormal.
I like this author. I’ve read a few books by her now but this is my least fav out of them all so far. I realize what she set up for a twist but I saw it coming so early on. I have it 3.5 but rounded up.
This is my first book by this author and I am hooked. I was not prepared for the twist in this story. If you like dark, twisted, and depraved then this one is for you. If you’re squeamish then stay away. Five stars all the way.
Dark and disturbing is the best way to describe this story. It's got everything you want in a horror story, and then some. If you like dark stories with a twist, check this one out.
I knew what I was getting into having read some of the authors work already, but man did this one take me by surprise! It was dark, twisted, and I didn’t see that coming! Was the perfect horror for Halloween night. Excellent story line, and I was hooked from start to finish. I absolutely recommend, but only if you can handle the dark and twisted 😜 brilliant, and I can’t wait to see what comes out next.
