The Psychedelic Guide Manual describes, in detail the process of supporting someone who is using a psychedelic for therapeutic or spiritual purposes. This manual is authored by Mark Haden ( Executive Director of MAPS Canada) with significant contributions from many others who are involved with this field. This is a must read for anyone who would like to guide someone through a psychedelic experience. Psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and shamans would all benefit from this important knowledge.
From the preface of the second A lot has happened in both the research and general psychedelic communities since I first published this manual in 2020. This second edition is a response to the ongoing discussions regarding best practices for psychedelic guiding. Also, I have received a huge amount of feedback with interesting and constructive ideas which I believe are helpful to share. New information on red flags, accountability, integration, how to offer incremental experiences, touch, soundproofing and many other new ideas are now available throughout this version of the manual.
