As Lich is reeling from an attack that left his dungeon core body shattered and broken, malevolent forces creep ever closer to achieving their sinister goals.

To become whole, Lich must overcome his dual nature or risk complete annihilation. Joined by his friends, Nettle and Baxter, and by a new, less-than-reputable undead ally, he seeks to get his destructive energy in check before it is too late.

In order to survive what is coming, Lich must expand and grow his dungeon. As old friends become new enemies and old enemies continue to conspire against him, he is forced to come up with new terrifying monsters and crafty traps to defend his core.

Void Core is a dark and gritty dungeon core story

Love the characters~

A well-written adventure-style dungeon core. The story takes place right after the first, with some people even believing Lich to be dead. Due to his injuries, Grazzle picks up a piece of the core and uses it to empower herself in order to protect her adventuring party. Unfortunately, Lich seems to have void powers (powerful, corrupting forces) that are both very useful and very dangerous.

When the power takes over Grazzle, it's up to Lich to save his fairy and his ghiest (who plays boss music whenever adventurers are fighting, lol).

I really enjoy the characters in this. It's definitely their story. The dungeon building is heavily focused on cool boss fights, which is where the novel really shines. If you like cool characters, cooler magic, and epic fights, this is for you.

I am enjoying the overall story. The writing is decent. I like that it is adult without being disgusting. I do wish the book about a dungeon focused a little more on the dungeon building part. It's a little handwavey at this point. Maybe something akin to building soul homes in Weirkey, where it's always the same but different.
Lich is great. The gheist and vampire are great.
Nettle is not great. She only detracts from the story with how much of an obnoxious asshole she is. If Nettle died and the fungus guy took over, I wouldn't be sad.

Unexpectedly, The Story Becomes More Interesting

Lich has discovered that in addition to the Soul aspect he possesses Void powers. Unfortunately this makes him a very valuable resource for extra dimensional beings intent on consuming the universe in which Lich lives. Now, to save his world, his universe, he must save himself.

This is what happens when you give up on story driven by character development.

This has inept characters blundering about ignoring story to drive up tension and conflict. This has a simplistic story with obvious outcomes. It relies on humorous banter from cliche characters.

Great continuation of the series

The action was on point, the flow of the story continued to keep me engaged, and the dialogue continued to add humor as the drama unfolds. love this author can’t wait for the next one
