Quinn, by Mary Blyton, is about the slow growing relationship between two immigrants working hard to support their families in a new country. Quinn is a gruff, hard working Irishman who must show Dakila, a recent arrival from the Philippines, “the ropes”. This was a very gentle and timeless story of two men who are thrown together but find that working together is much sweeter than going alone. The snowy winter was a charming backdrop to these two men.

Deck the Balls by Kris Klein features Sam and Dylan. Both working in a department store during the nightmare of Christmas shopping, they manage to find time to start a relationship with a little help from Santa and his elf. This was a funny story about two young men who admire from afar but finally act on those desires. The characters were nicely fleshed out, although the actual sex scene was a bit disconcerting.

The Sweetest Christmas, by EM Lynley, drops us into Jared and Erik’s first family Christmas. They’ve gone to Jared’s family for the holiday and decided to spend Christmas Eve celebrating on their own with some games, chocolates and sultry sex. This story is just a tantalizing taste of an interesting duo, who are still new enough to each other to add an exciting feel to their relationship.

Three stories from three new authors celebrating the Christmas season with love, candy and new beginnings. Although I enjoyed the first story the most, all three are enjoyable and easy to read.

When a friend suggested this book, I was a bit hesitant because I haven't liked Kris Klein's work very much. My friend concurred but said the other two stories were certainly worth reading, and actually I didn't think this Kris Klein story was all that bad although again -- an exceedingly whiny main character and, as someone else said, rather unpleasant descriptions of sex. Still some cute things about the story and nicely happy. It was also a bit better written than I've seen from this author. Good for him.

The EM Lynley story was just beautiful. I loved so much about it and it was so gracefully written. The Mary Blyton story was also nicely woven and delightful. I wish this book had some kind of actual cover, but it's a keeper anyway!
