At twenty-five, I might be the oldest, unmated omega in all of Havre. After my father passed, I had no alpha family members to aid in finding me a mate, but I've decided I'm done waiting. I don't need anyone to help me capture my man, and I've had my heart set on the sexiest, sweetest, most amazing long-haired alpha in the whole village.
And this winter solstice, I will make him notice me.
Ivor
I have wanted Mina since the moment I saw her.
I don't have the standing or prestige to pursue her, but when a fierce winter storm leaves us trapped in the village lodge, I must chose between keeping my distance and preserving my honor, or letting my beast claim what's mine.
Note: This novella is currently a part of the Knotty or Nice: A Limited Edition Christmas Omegaverse Anthology.
If you’re looking for a low angst, high heat omegaverse story, this book is perfect. It’s a novella so everything is wrapped up, no muss no fuss.
This was fun! I haven’t read an OV with a historical(?) setting before and I liked it. I should say, the historical portion is pretty vague but it follows the courting customs of a different time yet with the ABO spin which was interesting.
Mina (FMC) and Ivor (MMC) were hot together and I’m glad there was no miscommunication or prolonged suffering from them not talking to each other about their feelings. Forced proximity works its charm yet again 😏. Such a classic trope 👌🏻.
This set up the 2 other novellas in the series for Lily & Rowan and Nix & Summer both of which I am looking forward to since those characters were all adorable in their shy flirtations.
This was I think a fictional, historical Omegaverse novella. Reading the blurb, I didn't realize that it would be a medieval setting.
Not that I have anything against it. There are some good ones out there and that are actually well-written and fascinating. And historical romance were ones of the first kind of stories I have read. But there were always aspects of that setting, that I don't really like. And that has everything to do with me living in a modern world, and I'm not a fan of following archaic rules and honorable behavior in fear of to be shunned otherwise.
I know that was the way people thought and lived in the old ages. While I understand it and where it is coming from, it's just frustrating to read sometimes. But I still love the thrill of the forbidden stuff and the suppressed passion and tension between characters. Until the point they explode and can't hold back anymore. Even while they still try.
So, this story really hit the festive theme of the Christmas season. And I loved the characters and personalities. You could still relate to Lily and Ivor and their emotions.
And smut was decent too, while it was a bit tame. But still full of passion. This story introduces us to the other parings in this universe. Namely, Lily and Rowan, and Nix and Summer. They were remarkable characters as well, though I'm not sure if I will read the stories directly after this.
But I will read them at some point. That's for sure.
A Winters Gift is a sweet yet spicy novella from Kitt Lynn’s Hund Valley series and focuses on Mina and Ivor. Mina is a 25 year old omega who is struggling to be introduced to any alphas due to her father dying, but the only one she has her eyes on is Ivor. Ivor is an alpha who adores Mina but doesn’t feel worthy and doesn’t know who to ask to start courting her. Getting stuck in a storm is all they need to tell each other their feelings and deal with the consequences. I loved this novella and look forward to reading the other two.
A Winter Gift by Kitt Lynn is the first in the Madra Village series. We meet Mina, an Omega, who is the oldest at 25 that is unmated. She has her eyes on Ivor, an Alpha. A storm comes in and they are stranded together. This is a short story that was originally in the Knotty or Nice Anthology. Short, sweet, and spicy. Loved it.
What’s an alpha to do when the omega he secretly crushes on is in heat, take care of business of course. Ivor and mina are so sweet and harboring secret crushed for one another . Things get a little complicated during a storm , but good things happen as well. This story was short sweet and spicy . It’s a perfect weekend read.
A very sweet and a litle spicy tale in the enchanted lands of Havre ,in the vilage of Madra sweet and shy Mina longs for Ivor ,a strong alpha who thinks he's unworthy of her . A wonderful short omegaverse with the unmistakable touch of Kitt Lynn.
This cozy little story was the perfect read for a cold winter afternoon. I want Mina's leggings... and I wouldn't mind her alpha too. Ivor is a toasty cinnamon bun who left me drooling. Love love love the Madra village series 💖
Winter Gift is a sweet and spicy omega novella. Mina has been wanting Ivor for awhile. Ivor also wants her but doesn’t think he good nothing. Then fate steps in when they are trapped in a snow storm and can’t fight their love anymore. This is a great start to a wonderful series.
Well, this was a cute little spicy omega verse romance. It was a very quick read and really entertaining! I loved Mina’s feisty, character, and hoe even though there was a lot of spice I was still a storyline, especially with how short it was.
Solid read but felt there needed to be some more world building. Mina was a bit of a passive woman who just wanted Ivor and thought he wasn't interested. Ivor wanted her but didn't think he deserved her. It was interesting to see how they got together. It was a quick read to get the HEA.
A Winter’s Gift is one of three Novellas by Kitt Lynn centred around the common folk of the Madra village in Kitt Lynn’s Omegaverse setting of Havre.
Mina has always had a tendre for Ivor, her brother’s trainer but the natural hierarchy of werewolves and her family situation keep her at a distance. Ivor too has always wanted to express his attraction towards Mina but is stopped by his respect for her late father. A Winter’s Gift is about what happens when a storm and their friends stick them together at the pack lodge at Christmastime.
I loved the cuteness of Mina’s story. She is initially scared but finds the courage to speak her mind in Ivor’s presence. The mating scene, especially the one about nesting is absolutely the best.
The feeling of Christmas is ever present in the book and will always warm your heart even after the book ends…
Mina and Ivor have a sweet little mutual pining thing going on. There are all kinds of propriety concerns, but they cannot keep their brains off each other. Then there is a storm, and forced proximity and oh, nelly is that sweetness tossed out the window.
So good, couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. Such as sweet and spicy story. Loved Ivor and Mina’s story, so cute how he looks after her and how they both pined for each other and didn’t know how to say it. So glad I got to the opportunity to arc read this, it did not disappoint.
