Pier Paolo Pasolini

Pasolini referred himself as a 'Catholic Marxist' and often used shocking juxtapositions of imagery to expose the vapidity of values in modern society.
His essays and newspaper articles often critized the capitalistic omologation and also often contributed to public controversies which had made him many enemies. In the weeks leading up to his murder he had condemned Italy's political class for its corruption, for neo-fascist terrorist conspiracy and for collusion with the Mafia and the infamous "Propaganda 2" masonic lodge of Licio Gelli and Eugenio Cefis.
His friend, the writer Alberto Moravia, considered him "the major Italian poet" of the second half of the 20th century.

Se trata de un pequeño poemario que Pasolini había escrito en su juventud (Dal diario) y se publicará posteriormente. Al contrario de sus poemas largos y sociales que encontramos en “Las cenizas de Gramsci” o “Poesía en forma de rosa”, aquí hay poemas cortos sobre sí mismo, su sentimentalidad, el paisaje, su Friul natal.
El poeta declara su “invecchiata adolescenza”, pues ya no es tan joven pero se deja llevar por una alegría adolescente contemplando la naturaleza (el sol, las nubes, las flores, los pájaros) y su propia efervescencia vital interior: “...la presenza / in me di questa fisica allegrezza / che è la vita que si vive sola”. Aparece la madre en algún poema, y algún “ragazzo odoroso di piscina”, pero básicamente son poemas de contemplación de si mismo y del paisaje exterior.
