Mi tía Beverly se va a casar.

Debería alegrarme por ella. ¿Verdad?

This urban fantasy series with its cozy vibe and snarky protagonist is a hoot. Poor Tessa always seems to deal with one crisis after another. Her Aunt is about to get married and Tessa has no love for the slimy groom. He is up to no good, and she intends to prove it.

Meanwhile, Lilith (who Tessa early, accidentally set free) the ex-wife of Lucifer, has decided he has to go and plans to use Tessa to do it. Oh lord, this was a crazy tale with plenty of twists and developments.

Beverly is smitten with Derrick and things get crazy when Tessa discovers who he is, or should I say what he is? Between that and Lucifer, Tessa sees herself in danger, and suffers magically.

Secondary characters, Tessa’s wereape boyfriend and townsfolk, add to the story and kept me engaged. The story has it all from romance to mundane family issues and never a dull moment in between. I am really curious to see what will happen next. As with most fantasy series, it is best to listen to this series in the order of its release.

Devon Sorvari narrates and does a lovely job giving voice to Tessa and the other characters. She captures the tone and pacing of the story perfectly. Her narration enhances the stories and I recommend listening to the series. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

2.5-3 stars. Tessa really irritates me. I want to feel sorry about her losing her powers but.. ehhh she deserves it for being so dumb

In spite of all the crazy that ends the previous book, life goes on and Beverly announces she's getting married.

However, the groom to be is Derrick, the man who caused Beverly to get a boob enhancing spell, that thankfully has now expired. In a twist, three witches that look a lot like Dolores, Beverly and Ruth show up, they are claiming rights to Davenport House. They are Davina, Belinda and Reece, the Wanderbush witches, first cousins of the Davenports. It's their appearance that casts doubt on a card that shows up with the RSVPs with simply the words HELP ME on it. Tessa isn't convinced it's some sort of prank and she's going to investigate it anyway.

Tessa doesn't trust this man and when they have him over for dinner, she finds him in her room when he was supposedly answering a call. This doesn't end well for Derrick, or for Tessa. Her aunt doesn't believe her over her fiancé, and as a result Tessa is uninvited from the wedding.

After that encounter she goes heads out to see Marcus.

When Tessa's mother arrives things get even more interesting, especially with Obiryn around. It's quite the living soap opera.

Iris and Tessa with some help from Ronin, take things with the mysterious card into their own hands and that leads to even more intrigue and danger.

I laughed, cried and screamed a bit at this book.

Rebel Magic is the ninth book in The Witches of Hollow Cove series by Kim Richardson.

Tessa should be happy. One of her aunt is getting married. But why she's not? Something off about the future husband, Derrick. How can she prove it when Beverly refuse to see it and even blame her when he kiss her. As she tries to find clues about who really Derrick Beaudelaire is off course that is when Lilith decided it's time to kill her ex, Lucifer. And Tessa is her secret weapon. Thing is for that she need to go to the Netherworld where humans can't survive. Sure she's half-demon but is that enough?

And when she discover who Derrick really is, or at least what, think goes really, really bad. And Tessa gonna need back up if she wanna make it back alive.

I have really loved this book and cannot wait to read the next one with how this book end. I have received an arc of this book from the author.

The world continues to evolve in lore as we watch Hollow Cove continue to end up with problem after problem, though to be fair for this one it's less a town problem and more a family problem because Beverly is getting married but Tessa doesn't trust her fiance.

I do love that Tessa does follow her instincts, but I'm starting to feel like her aunts are acting a little childish about things. Though that started a few books back when Dolores was kind of a jerk to Tessa with that big coven that it was starting back then. I donno if it's me but Dolores has been getting meaner and meaner to Tessa over the last few books.

The story is pretty solid, I'm still invested in Tessa and Marcus' relationship right now, so I'm having hope that maybe it'll get better in books. We'll definitely see though.

I was surprised there were grammatical errors this time around, normally there aren't any. Story was on par with the rest of the series, the same stuff, except there is the ongoing bigger plot between Lillith and Lucifer starting to spice up.
Not quite sure if we will ever see any growth from the main character, but I am invested to see what's going to transpire between the demon and demoness saga.
Also I am confused as to why the author refers to Tessa's boyfriend as Marcus and the chief and sometimes in the same sentence, we all know he's the chief, so he can just be Marcus. I also think there's no need to rehash the Dana book every story, anyone who's on book #9 already knows that. There's too much repetitiveness about certain things that doesn't need to be there.

Loved being back with Tessa and her aunts. And with Marcus. Especially Tessa and Marcus. This time, Beverly is getting married and Tessa is out to prove her fiancé isn’t who he says he is. Unfortunately, Beverly is smitten and doesn’t want to hear, or believe anything Tessa has to say, which again causes problems with them all. Not only does Tessa want to save her aunt, but she still has her task to complete for Lilith. And as usual, things are not exactly easy for Tessa. She gets into a lot of trouble, both physically and magically. I did not see that ending coming and it was a shocker. Definitely can’t wait for the next book!

This was maybe the worst book I've ever read. It reads like a self-insert Wattpad fanfic written by a 13 year old in 2016. The weird pop culture references and overly snarky main character comes across as childish and self-indulgent. Its the sort of thing someone would write when they feel like they have no power in their real life, so they invent a character who can say all the quippy comebacks that, in real life, they only think of after the argument is over. It says a lot that the gorilla shifter boyfriend isn't remotely the worst part of this book. Would've DNFed if I didn't need those sweet sweet page points...

This was so good I read it in one sitting. Action, mystery, humor, spells, almost sex, demons, shifters, and witches oh my. And one evil incubus. I love all the books in this series. It's seriously addicting. The Merlin witches are special enough but add in Marcus and Oberyn and you've got a winning combination.

If you love a snarky sassy witch demon with a wereape boyfriend well this is the series for you! Kim Richardson is a wonderful writer who tends to wake up my husband while he is I. A deep sleep…how you ask well I am reading and then I start laughing and not just a little laugh but a bed shaking one! Seriously though read this!

Tessa continues to take us on one hell of a rollercoaster ride filled with magic and mayhem, keeping us readers on our toes. She always seems to get herself into troubling predicaments, which makes me laugh. There is no end to the entertainment she brings me with her sarcasm and wit.

Loved this portion of her story and was a bit shocked at the way it ended. I can’t wait for the next part.

I love the characters , the funny dialogue and all the scrapes they get into. Lots of romance too but I love that there behind the scenes not page after page of sex
talk .The Davenport witches stick together and get the job done. Can't wait for the next book in the series

Laugh out loud fun

I've love Tessa's attitude and snarky sarcasm along with her two best friends. Her family is always hoot as well and the visit with the lookalike cousins was a comedy gem. I can't wait for the next book. I've loved this series from the first page of the first book, can't wait to see where it continues to go!

Damsel in distress

I'm really getting bored of the damsel in distress situation that occurs in every one of these books. And I'm really getting bored of Marcus saving Tessa constantly. She's a witch with significant power yet she's constantly in need of saving. It makes her look incompetent . Can't she ever get herself out of these situations?

I highly recommend reading this book if you have liked any of the previous books. Tessa never fails to amuse me with her antics. The book left off in a good spot for a sequel that I cannot wait for!!

This one was certainly exciting! Of course, Tessa thought she knew what she was doing, but obviously was unprepared for the outcome. It was a good read and I'll move on to the next segment to see what happens to our girl there!

Enjoy!

Good read

Not quite as good as the other books as this one seemed to drag slightly. Still quite an enjoyable read.
