Brighton Walsh

Award-winning USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brighton Walsh spent nearly a decade as a professional photographer before taking her storytelling in a different direction and reconnecting with her first love: writing. When she’s not lost in her own made up worlds, she’s probably either reading or shopping—maybe even both at once. She lives in the Midwest with her real life hero of a husband, her two kids—both taller than her—and her dog who thinks she’s a queen. Her boy-filled house is the setting for dirty socks galore, frequent dance parties (okay, so it's mostly her, by herself, while her children look on in horror), and more laughter than she thought possible. I read 3 of the 7 books.

1. Tempting Boundaries by Carrie Ann Ryan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
Decker’s been falling for Miranda, one of the 8 Montgomery siblings and his best friend Griffins younger sister, for years.
Miranda has been in love with decker since she was 6 and he was 12.
When a colleague and attacker brings them together, they want to keep it on the down low.
But not even a week later and Miranda’s sister Maya sees Decker leave her apartment before sunrise and can’t keep her trap shut. Dislike #1. Then Griffin thinks he’s owed this information immediately and fights with Decker. At Deckers job. In front of his bosses, two Montgomery brothers. Dislike #2.
The crazy colleague situation brought life into this book, but sadly Decker came from a broken home and took the cowards way out. The apology felt forced and he’d say anything to get Mir back.

2. Tessa Ever After by Brighton Walsh
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶🌶🌶/5
Tessa (I think 21) is a single mom to Haley, living in her older brother Cade’s house while he’s gone in Chicago. She’s overwhelmed with working and making it on time to pick up Haley from daycare before 6pm every night.

Jason is 24, working on his degree and just got the ultimatum from his parents, that he needs to decide a major and graduate. His dad wants him to work at the architecture firm he owns. But that’s not what Jason wants to do. He’s an artist.

Jason’s had a crush on Tessa for 9 months and can’t get her out of his head.
Of course he’s warned off Tessa by her brother Cade, his best friend, when he’s been spending too much time (to Cades liking) at Tessa’s place.

I tried to finish this book, but I just felt that at 21 and 24 they seemed somewhat mixed of mature and immature. Cade preferring a 30 year old over his best friend for his sister was also weird. Jason loved his life of luxury being paid for by his parents, but didn’t want to work for his father.

3. Catching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶🌶🌶/5
Rowan Bishop is moving back home after getting her business degree in Houston. She can’t wait to start working for her uncle at the bar.

Adam “Diesel” Hayes can’t stay away from Rowan. He’s been head over heels since forever. Growing up together and her brother being his best friend, always kept her close, but forbidden. Her brother, Riley, has made it crystal clear over the years, that she’s off limits.
When Diesel does something nice for Rowan, she sees him in a different light. He’s grown up, is more flirty and the looks don’t look innocent to her.
But getting together in secret and keeping it from friends and family is bound to backfire.
The bombshell that actually threatens them, comes from Diesels past and combined with the communication issue, there is trouble in cowboy-land!
When it was a Happy End for the couple, more chapters were added for the kiddo/mom issue to resolve. It all felt too easy and lovey-dovey…

~ Fight for Me (The Everhart Brothers #2) by Claudia Y. Burgoa

What a delightful surprise this book was! I thought I was prepared, with my box of tissues handy, like I usually do before I start one of Ms. Burgoa's books. Harrison and Luna's story was much lighter, but just as thrilling, heartwarming, and passionate. It was everything I want my romance stories to be. Luna is a real conundrum. She is smart, fearless and tough, but then she is also sweet, sunshine and superstitious. She is a sexy puzzle that draws Harrison in right from their first hilarious meeting. Luna's brother, Tiago, has asked Harrison to watch over Luna while she is in New York, making her off limits. It isn't hard since he has kept his distance from relationships after losing his parents in the Twin Towers tragedy. He is only close to his brothers and best friend, Hazel. Their tight knit group is supportive, hilarious, and essential. When Luna easily assimilates into the fold, Harrison is helpless against his growing feelings. Harrison is a huge surprise to Luna as well. He is charming, sweet, and attentive. He supports her decisions, and their chemistry is explosive. I love them together! There are reasons for her visit to New York that develop in surprising ways and along with a few twists and turns, this journey is exhilarating. It is fun catching up with the Everhart family along with the bad@55 men in the security agency where Harrison works. This is such a fun, refreshing story that took me by surprise, when Ms Burgoa usually wrings every emotion out of us, along with several tissues. But it is a wonderful story in it's own rights. The storyline is intriguing with strong characters, little angst, enough mystery and drama to keep me turning the pages and the perfect amount of romance to make me swoon.
I loved this story even more after listening to Jason Clarke, and Stephanie Németh Parker's stellar narration! I always enjoy Clarkes' performances, but this is my favorite one yet. He nailed Harrison's character so perfectly and his inflections were spot on and heartfelt. He took my breath away as he brought out all the fun, sass, and emotion from Burgoa's story. This is my first listen to Stephanie Németh Parker's work and I was completely lost to her performance. Her smooth, sweet voice pulled me in right from the start, but it was her authentic accent and her fierce inflections, when needed, that made me an instant fan! I will definitely look for more of her work.
The Everhart family and friends are amazing and endearing and I can't wait for more about all of them!

Avg 4 star reads, but Two 5 star reads in this boxset (highly recommend!)

He’s Off Limits by Various: Two 5 star reads in this boxset (highly recommend!)

The following 2 reviews are my favorites in this boxset:
*****Just One Kiss by Carly Phillips: good!
Jade/Knox. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, but they both have baggage. This is an entertaining, enjoyable story with all the feels.

*****Mad About the Banker by Piper Rayne: Entertaining and touching, with all the feels
Jasper/Lennon.
This story is entertaining from the very beginning and kept me grinning. Lennon is unconventional and sassy, with a sex toy business and Jasper is NOT your typical banker. LOL funny with all the feels. I loved the speed dating. Loved loved loved, Everything about this book. Highly recommend!
—————————————————-
****Tempting Boundaries by Carrie Ann Ryan:
Decker/Miranda. Decker’s parents are a train wreck, his father both physically and mentally abusive — and he believes he isn’t good enough for Miranda. So this story has a LOT of “why nots”. In other characters too, so much internalizing. Also, an unbalanced coworker, and an attack. A loving and supportive family. And a long overdue HEA.

****Tessa Ever After by Brighton Walsh:
Jason/Tessa. Pretty good, with likable characters although Jason was a little slow to grow up. Four year old Haley was sweet! Nice HEA.

****Catching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox:
Diesel/Rowan. A slow start, and some wrinkles. Good people with big hearts, and lots of love lead to a nice HEA.

****Burn for You by J.H. Croix: Sweet!
Holly/Nate. Angsty chemistry (off the charts!), with a friendship history. Likable characters and interconnected family/friends. A lot of risk if crossing the friendship line is a fail. Fairly good pace although I skimmed some.

****Fight for Me by Claudia Burgoa:
Luna/Harrison. A slow start and this story rambles/jumps around with some inconsistencies. The last 25% was very good however, and elevated my review (from 3) to 4 stars.

I was reading this book set alongside the Beach Reads one because I liked that all over them had the same trope in common. Brother's best friend. But I didn't end up finishing all of the books, there are seven in this set. And again it's because some of the tropes were ones that I don't like to read about.

One of the books had to do with an accidental pregnancy and that's just not my vibe. Or I didn't like the story line of it. And there were some where I couldn't stand the drama aspect of it. And I think there might of been a few where there was a cliff hanger, don't remember though.

Again I'd recommend this book set to people who are wanting to discover new authors, feel like this is the perfect thing to read for that.

If you haven’t read these, grab this set…

Tempting Boundaries is one of my favorites. The Montgomerys have so much heart, unfortunately with this much family comes so much drama. Miranda has to fight hard for her siblings, especially the brothers to see her as an adult. Her ongoing crush on adopted sibling Decker won't go away, but even though acting on it spells disaster she has to take a chance. Decker has been fighting his past for years, can he finally have what his heart desires or will the past just not let go? Great read.

Boring beyond belief

The first story was dull but in a anthology there's always book two right? But nope ...books 2 and 3 , total yawn. Flat characters with zero zing, unengagimg stories that made me want to skip chapters. I really want to find something fun and exciting to read and thought this book might introduce me to a new author but I can't get any further with this book and will just look elsewhere for my next new author.

Is there anything better than a forbidden romance? Or what about that first crush? Maybe it's an age gap thing? Whatever the reason for me there is nothing better then a story involving an off limits brother. This whole collection is perfect each story absolutely covers that off limits brother element I love.

great set of reads

I’d read most of these books before apart from piper rayne and Claudia Burgoa. As I said great set of reads, and loved both books I’d not read although I did struggle to like Luna in the last book, Harrison was the typical alpha but with a heart of gold. Recommend.

Great Collection

Occasionally when you purchase a collection of books by different authors, some are good, some are really good and some are great. But, every book in this collection is great. I thoroughly enjoyed each one and I can't decide which one I liked the most. They are all different and so good. Definitely going to be re-reading these when I finish my TBR list.

Ok, I DNF at 86%
I couldn't drag it any longer after three months already, this was a compilation with stories that had the longest chapters ever, and no, after the first couple of books I was done with the theme.
On the other hand, there were a couple of really good stories but I certainly will not give it a re-read.

Riveting!

Every story in this book anthology was riveting, and each had a different story. Every twist and turn made this even more captivating. If you want to read an anthology that has all the bells and whistles with happily ever afters, then this one is for you. Truly riveting read!!

The plots were often similar, but that's typical for a bundled set. Some of the books were definitely more explicit than others. The ones that were seemed to lack any substance outside the bedroom. Maybe that's because I've been reading longer books with better character development recenting.
If you're looking for descriptive encounters this fits the bill.

Off-limits love

I was familiar with half of these authors and enjoyed their stories of off-limits love. While they each had a similar premise, they were each unique and fun. I look forward to reading more in each of their catalogs. Highly recommended.

7 Great reads

He may be off limits but who cares.
Brothers can and sometimes are overprotective when it comes to their sisters but sisters usually know best and brother can talk all he wants and threaten but it doesn't always work

I love the way the first story was written but still didn’t capture my full attention. At some points the story was just plain for me. I just finished the first of all the books inside but I decided not to continue, I am sorry but for me it wasn’t good enough.
