Apparently, I’m a Dragoness. I knew I was worth more than minimum wage! Suck it, haters.
When my parents were murdered in cold blood, life became a shock in more ways than one. My parents were sheltering me, and for good reason. Not only am I a dragoness, but there’s also a slightly insane sounding prophecy. Something powerful has been asleep inside of me, lurking in the shadows. My spine is tingling, how about yours?
I’m supposed to save the world. But first, I have a score to settle. Oh, and to fulfill the prophecy, I’m supposed to take on a mate. Or… more accurately, mates. As in, more than one. My inner beast is super excited about taking on mates. Please don’t encourage her. Werewolves, wizards, vampires, you name it, she's down to claim 'em.
I’m going to get revenge. I’m going to win, no matter the cost. If you are in my way, you better move. Because nothing is going to stop me. Nothing. This queen’s coming for her crown.
The Dragon Goddess series follows Tia as she learns who she is, how to control her powers, and collects her fated mates along the journey. This is a paranormal romance featuring werewolves, wizards, elves, vampires.... and a sarcastically-gifted, dragon shifter! There are fight scenes with violence. And did I mention the sex? The love making scenes in this book are probably best read when no one is looking over your shoulder… Tia’s mates have great imaginations! *wink wink*
Sensitivity Note (Spoilers)- There are sections where Tia is held captive and treated horribly. There are no forced love scenes in this book, although there is a scene where she is tricked.
This complete set includes the following three ebooks in the Dragon Goddess Series- Unexpected Shift (Book 1) Unexpected Mate (Book 2) Unexpected Heat (Book 3)
Sedona Ashe lives in a tiny town in Tennessee, near the Great Smoky Mountains. She enjoys reading and writing stories filled with powerful paranormal females, and sexy supernatural men. Sedona has a tea collection of over 300 teas from around the world, which her husband claims has become an obsession. When she isn't writing, she enjoys hiking, free diving, and photography. She shares her home with three kids, four pups, five cats, an arctic fox, chickens, a crazy turkey, and way too many reptiles!
Awesome series, told from all POV. I love how Tia built her harem, with each one having their own unique twist. Fast paced and spicy, definitely glad I bought the paperback version. Epic world building and storyline.
So it's an OK series with decent characters but it gets irritating how powerful they make the main FMC. It's like anything they need she can do but somehow her idiocy always gets in the way. The worst part is what the author considers a happy ending. World domination and destruction of anyone who isn't what she considers "good."
SYNOPSIS (of Series): The FC, Tia, is a Goddess Dragon shifter who has been created to save or destroy the world. The story opens with the FC running from her home in the middle of the night as her parents are killed. She has no idea who she is but quickly meets her fated mates, learns about the existence of the supernatural world and that she is a powerful dragon goddess who people want to destroy. The story revolves around the FC meeting and developing relationships with each of her fated mates, learning about her powers as they evolve and fighting against those who want to use or destroy her all whilst trying to save and rebalance humanity.
HEAT LEVEL: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆 There is plenty of spice but it does not take over the story and is spread evenly through the books without going on for pages. There are both 1 on 1 and group scenes all revolving around the FC with no MM.
In summary, this is a fun story which is a bit OTT (especially, as others have mentioned, when you see how powerful the FC becomes) with plenty of action, a fast pace, engaging characters, some angst & drama with a bit of violence sprinkled in.
Personally my favourite series of this author is still Klutz. This series however has many of the same elements with an engaging and powerful FC, some funny scenes with plenty of sarcasm and inappropriate commentary 😆. There is some good world and character building which gives depth to the narrative and the relationships and story develop organically without feeling too rushed (although this is fated mates so the connections between the FC and MCs are immediate). The FC is likeable and real (well as real as a dragon goddess can be 🙄) who comes across as strong and kickass. You can understand why the MCs would fall for her. The MCs are all protective and hot coming across as very possessive and alpha. There are also plenty of good secondary characters which provide some additional diversity to the story. The interactions between the FC and the MCs and other characters are engaging and there are a few laugh out loud moments. This author’s style of writing, whilst on occasion a little basic, comes across as authentic and fun.
There are definitely some gaps in the story such as how the Warlock becomes a warlock, who tried to assassinate the FC and what was going on with the old Vampire king and queen which are annoying and the ending where the FC becomes ridiculously powerful seems OTT and means that the climax loses some of its steam and felt rushed (as if the author couldn’t really be bothered to work through the finale) 🤷♀️. So it’s not perfect by any means but it’s an enjoyable enough romp.
So, if you are looking for a kick arse, sarcastic FC with plenty of action and some laughs but limited angst or drama all set in a world of dragons, magic and vampires then give this a go.
I’ve previously read the first 2 books and I’m glad I got to read them again. There wasn’t much mention of what happened in the previous books at the start of the next one. Not enough anyways. I rated it 4 stars because it disappointed me to read about her ex potential mate. The reasoning wasn’t believable compared to how natural the rest of the story was. I loved the possessiveness of each of her men. I loved reading about Beasty. I wished there was more to the end. That fmc was put through the ringer! I hoped to read more about her happiness that it was finally over, as well as celebrating the good news. I wished we got to know Pixel better. He was a mysterious character who made a difference to the fmc when in a life and death. It also confused me that the parents in law had been mentioned once in the series played such a huge part in the climax. I wish there was more! Tia deserves all the happiness in the world. Would like to read more, maybe a spin-off?
I enjoyed the story. Normally, I'm not big on the reverse harem genre, but this series wasn't just about sexy times between the mates. Each mate brought something needed to the circle of mates. While there were plenty of sexy times, the story was interesting. The idea that the world was out of balance and that's why we have all the violence, famine, and evil isn't new. However, SA puts a new spin on it with the Goddess Tiamet and her quest to change the future of her world. There are a couple of twists that will keep readers invested in Tia and her circles outcomes!
Full of adventure, humor, steam and so much more!! I thought it was original and it definitely kept me interested. Told in multiple POVs, which I love. I love our FMC, Tia. She is strong, funny and had so much goodness. I love her adoring mates as well. I like that they were all different. I feel like we get a little bit of everything in these books!!! I think this was a great series!
What a thoroughly wonderful series! I love reverse harem romance but many of them are filled with angst and mayhem. I truly enjoyed that this series wasn't one endless sex scene after another. Having a good story line was a delicious twist and the mayhem was perfectly dolled out against the bad guys and not between the mates.
The story line is great, fast paced, and draws you in. The characters are highly entertaining. I had a few lol moments, with looks as if I was loosing my mind, while reading in public. I look forward to other reads by Sedona Ashe. Thanks for making me laugh.
This series is wonderful. It is one of my favorite re reads. This author is creative and so funny you will enjoy the experience. Fantasy, reverse harem, magic, shifters, goddesses, good vs evil, hidden heritage, and adventures. Smoothly written and few errors in this edition. No mm or ff.
I loved the main character of this series and I devoured these books. Thank goodness it was in a complete series because I read more than a book a day. They were that addicting.
I absolutely loved this series more than I thought I would definitely recommend this series well written excellent content and author absolutely deserved five stars
