Can a determined human bride save an alien shifter from his beast?
Half human and half Vultor - and rejected by both - Endark has lived his life alone. The only family he knows is the one he has formed with his warrior brothers. But even that bond is not enough to save him from his father’s cruel legacy. His only hope is a mate who will calm his inner beast.
Becky works hard to support herself and her younger brother but it gets more difficult every year. Finding herself in a cozy cottage in the middle of a snowstorm is almost a relief - despite the growly alien male who claims she’s his bride. He is gruff, bad-tempered, and possessive, but he has a loneliness which matches her own.
Becky begins to lose her heart to the fierce alien, but can she risk everything for love? And will their fragile bond be enough when his father’s people find them?
Each book in the Seven Brides series features a different couple and may be read as a standalone, but the books do link together. This sweet and steamy series is intended for mature readers.
This week has been busy so I am a bit behind in reading and reviewing. This is the 5th installment in the Seven Brides for Seven Alien Brothers series. Each book follows another couple and so they can be read as standalones. I accessed the series with my Kindle Unlimited membership.
In this 5th book we meet Endark, an alien born of an alien father and human mother who became outcasts due to their relationship. Because of this, Endark isn't sure he is fit to mate but he desires to. When he takes Rebecca(Becky)from her nearby town, he not only finds the potential for love but family. Because 12 year old Danny, Becky's brother is determined to rescue his sister from the alien ranch. Ironically, it is Endark that ends up saving Danny. Now the three will have to learn to co-exist as the winter blizzard continues. But trouble looms and everyone Endark loves is in danger.
I am still highly entertained by the series and I love each pairing. So much conflict in this storyline and I loved it.
4.3 stars. Awwwww. This was a sweet one. Even tho he’s one of the brothers that stole a bride, this guy is super great at consent. Which is ironic since he’s most afraid of losing control.
They’re both sweethearts but I adore Endark. And I love that he brings her brother back to be with them. And I would die for the attic bedroom with window seats and books!
Ahhhhh, this was just as sweet and as satisfying as I expected!
In this addition to the Seven Brides for Seven Alien Brothers series, we finally get around to Endark, who is indeed desperate for a bride to help control his beastly side. As soon as he scents Becky though, he knows even before seeing her that she's his mate, and goes after her.
Thankfully, while Becky is reluctant at first to acknowledge Endark's claim, she's not exactly against him, and as soon as they can ensure the safety of her younger brother, Danny--who was a very amusing character, by the way, loved his commentary!--she's more open to the whole mating thing.
It was just a very sweet story of acceptance and growing love through just knowing that someone is right for you. Refreshing to say, the least!
Ahem-hem-hem, but now, of course, next comes the big one: Frantor's story, who, as he is by far the most mysterious brother, is also the story I'm most curious about. Onward!
I binged all 7 of these short stories. They are cute and nicely interwoven. 4-stars may be generous, but these have all the ingredients of a classic forced-proximity romance. In addition, all 7 aliens are very different in looks and features, as well as attitude and sexual preferences. Obviously there will be some similarities in the plots, as the all happen in parallel, but it is well done.
3.5 stars - I think the addition of Danny into this story was a good move to add more dimension. I liked the romantic progression & am intrigued to see if the pack is going to continue to be a factor in the last 2 books
I really like this series. It's so easy and fast to read and I love this world that's been created based on the movie. I can't wait to see how the others end up.
I like Honey Phillips and I’ve enjoyed the alien brothers books for all that they are about Stockholm Syndrome. But this book just resolved all of its conflicts way to easily. Becky takes no time to forgive Endark for endangering everyone’s lives. Danny questions him for about 5 minutes. There are villains that are dispatched in two pages. It’s not bad. It’s light and fluffy enough. It’s just so low stakes as to be almost comatose.
I think with the four previous books all mentioning how out of control Endark was and how concerning things were I was expecting more drama involving him. This book was surprisingly low key. I really loved what Danny added to the story. It was such a cute component. I liked this a lot just felt like it was lacking something.
This is like the billion book I've read of the author and I can say it keeps getting better. I really like this series and how it keeps building the characters around each other.
For me, Endark (at least from the 3 rougues) manages the whole kidnapping thing better than the other two (looking at you Benjar) because it keeps it just the right amount of morally grey for you to still fall in love with the characters and their relationship
I also really liked Becky and the whole found family (within one) that came with her and Danny, and the building of the relationship as domestic and just nice
For mi this would have been a solid 4 if we got to see more of the other characters in the series, I just feel like building a community within your books gives it that extra bit that makes it unforgettable.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another short and sweet addition to the series. I don't know why I was expecting/wanting this one to be a little darker. Maybe because Endark felt a little gruffer in the other books? But it wasn't. I'm especially okay with Becky being okay with both of Endark's forms. She doesn't mind it getting a little hairy here and there 😉
Anyhoo. Now, we're on to my most anticipated book of the series: Frantor. The elusive, damaged, fragile Frantor. I don't even know him, but I can't wait for his HEA ❤️
I liked this more because of the inclusion of the FmC’s brother, which gave a little more interest to this fairly standard fated mates trope and there was some action with the intro of other Vultors. Still quick and easy and not that deep but sometimes that just what you want.
This story involved the hero kidnapping the heroine, but since this was a fated mates romance I'll let it slide (just this once). The main characters seemed to get to know each other and it didn't seem like Stockholm synonym (like Benjar, the second book in the series, did).
What a great deal and delicious story. Oh so good! I really like Endarks story. I've been waiting several books hoping to read about him! So this was so perfect! I love how you creates him! Perfection as always Ms.Honey!
This was a OK sci-fi alien romance, but I had an issue with the fact that Endark abducted Becky. For that reason, it gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.
This story had some steam, but also some sweet moments as Endark and Becky got to know each other. The way Endark looked was a bit different, but that didn't seem to bother Becky. It did take her a little while to accept being abducted, but she soon realized that he would never hurt her or force himself on her -- and it helped that he was willing to go get her 12 year old brother.
I liked Endark, but thought his decision to abduct a bride was not a good one. Because he needed a mate to calm his inner animal, he decided to assume that Nelly's story about the happy abducted brides was true -- even though he actually knew that it was wrong to abduct a woman. I did like that he soon realized the abduction was wrong, and was fine with Becky's younger brother living with them.
I liked Becky, too, and understood her desire for a little less responsibility. She had been responsible for her younger brother for years, and she loved him dearly, but she needed someone special to love and protect her. She understood that Endark would always love her, so she soon realized she and her brother belonged with him.
Overall, I liked this book. I did wish it had been a bit longer, to allow for more character development. I would have liked more backstory on both Endark and Becky.
Other reviewers have noted that they dislike the covers on this book series, since they look like comic books. I'm not really a fan either -- but I suspect that was so that the alien men on the covers could look like they were described in the book. It would have been difficult, and possibly quite costly, to use actual male models and make them look like the aliens. I prefer comic book style covers to those where the models don't look like the descriptions of the characters in the books.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Endark is one of seven alien brother warriors who have settled down on Earth to start a new life and find mates. Endark is half human and half Vultor who has been shunned by both his people. Humans tell horror stories about Vultor so he doubts he will find a human mate easily. After their leader Artek finds his mate, she tells them a story about other brothers who looked for brides. They went to the winter celebration and grabbed a woman they were interested in and took them back home. The bad winter weather kept their women at their houses until spring giving the men a chance to woo their women. Endark and some of the other warriors decide to do the same. When they arrive in town, Endark is shocked to scent his fated mate. He knows that Becky is the one he will take. What he doesn't realize is that Becky has an younger brother determined to stay with his sister.
Becky has been raising her brother since their mother died. Becky is a poor seamstress who someday hopes to open her own store. Right now she is forced to spend the winter with a wealthy customer who wants a new wardrobe for her now marriagable daughter. Becky hates having to bow to her customer's every demand but she has to , to keep a roof over her and her little brother's head. Becky stays home the night of the dance to have some peace. She never expected to have an alien come into her house and kidnap her. When she awakens in Endark's cabin, she is very upset. He is a Vultor and she has heard horrible things about them. Also, she is worried about her brother. When Endark offers to take a message to her brother through a horrible storm, Becky starts to look at him in a new way. Maybe having an alien groom would be a good thing.

I really enjoyed Endark and Becky’s alien-human, fated mates, forced proximity, snowed in romance. The book had a wonderful mix of sweet, steamy, real life issues, and danger. Endark is half human and half Vultor. At the end of the war, he and his six brothers in arms purchased a sprawling ranch and settled on his home planet of Cresca. Becky is human who lives in the nearby town and supports herself as a seamstress. She is also responsible for her 12 yo brother, Danny. One of Endark’s brothers misconstrues a human story to mean they should go to a dance to find human brides. Since Endark is losing control of his Vultor side and believes only a mate will help him, he goes along to find a bride. As soon as he smells Becky he knows she is his mate. Danny follows them once he realizes Becky has been taken. Despite Becky being drugged and kidnapped, this is not a dubcon or noncon situation. Endark and Becky’s relationship develops organically without forced intimacy as they begin to form their small family of three. But then danger comes for them. The story includes all the yummy goodness that you’d expect from this genre - sweet moments, steamy scenes, alien physiology and cultures, loyal friends, painful pasts, fated mates, coincidences, danger, and laughs. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the brothers’ love stories.
A short lusty fated mates sci-fi romance where forced proximity leads to love. The heroine, seamstress Rebecca 'Becky' Thompson, has had to grow up fast & raise her younger brother 12-year-old Danny since her parents' deaths. The hero, half-Vultor Endark, has struggled to find a home and to control his beast side without a mate.
I liked most of this one but I had some problems with the danger before the HEA (see below). I liked the characters and the story, but was a little disappointed there wasn't quite a complete resolution of the problem before the HEA. Perhaps that's in the next book.
*****Spoiler Alert***** This Book Includes Violence. Abduction with knock out spray, 2nd abduction, fight to death ending in neck break. Sex. MF sex with knotting, virgin heroine, little role playing, some chase-capture sex, mating bite, accidental pregnancy.
Things That Bothered Me Vultor Human Problem So, the bad guy seems to think he is the son of an alpha Vultor and his human mate. Yet, he also seems to think that the hero is less because he is half human. So, the problem is that if the bad guy was indeed the result of a union with a human then he himself would be half human. Why does this guy have a problem with humans if his mad father told him he was half human?
It's Endark's turn to shine and, uhh, well, he's not all that great at shining, but he's REALLY good at treating a lady right. To be fair about the shining part, Endark's beast is riding him hard and he's incredibly worried about losing his grip on it and causing harm. Which could be mildly problematic.
So. Endark goes along with his brothers' plan to obtain some human brides from the nearby town. Being half Vultor, he scents out the one who calls the most to him pretty quickly. He does his thing and soon their on their way. What he didn't know? Becky is responsible for her younger brother and she's can't quietly stay in Endark's lair when he's out there on his own.
As for Becky, she might not love the life she has in town (meaning, an overbearing employer and just enough stress to make things rough), but she's not about to leave her brother to fend for himself no matter how beguiling Endark is. Fortunately for her, Endark understands what she needs and soon they're a ready-made family. Well, soon-ish.
A snowstorm, a determined brother, a cozy cabin, a lot of time spent together, and an alien family that keeps getting bigger. *thumbs up*
This is just the perfect series with just the right amount of heat, heart and suspense/ danger. Becca lost her father years ago and her mother who was a tailor has also died. While her mom was sick she going on most of the work so when she passed away she took over the business. She also has a You need brother that she loves and wants to be able to take care of. The jobs she has to take are not truly what she wants to do but they do out food on the table. Until one night changes her life forever. Endark one of the brother soldiers has a inner beast and is a human wolf type of alien. He's had a rough life with many obstacles and all he wants is a place to call home and a mate to call his. A place of acceptance. When he's sees Becca and catches her sent he knows he's finally found the one. The one who can take his beast and own his heart. So like the rest of his brothers he's goes and steals her. What he doesn't count on is a brothers love and determination to see his sister safe or his own feelings of intense not only desire but love and a need for Becca's acceptance. This is an awesome installment to the series. Loved it and I can't wait for the next! Highly recommend💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖
What a sweet story with lots of spicy moments! Endark, half human and half Vultor, finds his true mate by chance when he and his brothers go on a bride hunt. Luckily, he catches Rebecca’s scent and recognizes that she is the one he has been searching for. Of course, there is the minor issue of him kidnapping her to get over! lol! These two seem an unlikely pair, but their connection is instantaneous. Endark, Becky, plus Becky’s little brother Danny, form the family they were all craving, and their story has all the feels! I couldn’t help cheering for them as they fell in love as a couple and as a family! Honey introduced a new enemy and troublemaker. I can’t wait to see if they show up in either of the last two brothers’ books. The brothers and their mates are one big happy family, and I love how all of Artek’s brothers’ stories are happening at the same time. Each book tells their joint story from their individual perspectives and then focuses on their separate journeys to their HEA. Such a unique (to me) concept! I’m loving this series, and all the different couples! Endark and Becky are perfect together! I read this straight through! I just couldn’t put it down! I look forward to the last two books while simultaneously dreading the end of the series! Don’t miss this series if you want short, spicy, and sweet!
Have you been following the brothers? If you have, you know that Endark has had everyone worried since he removed his tracker; he has passed the age in which most of his brethren have a mate and children, his beast is getting restless, and he is afraid he will need to leave his brothers behind. When Benjar came up with the idea to get brides from the nearest town, he was all in. He is not looking for a mate but finds that in Becky. Becky is going through a rough patch after her mother dies. She lives in a town where women cannot have businesses or property. Having to take care of her minor brother, she is forced to take a position with Mrs. Watson (Julie’s Mom). The position offers room and board, and beggars can’t be choosers. Being kidnapped by one of the aliens living in the mountain was not in the plan.
This book is one of my favorites, it is short and sweet, and it has a sweet, broken Alpha that will do anything and everything for his mate. Including waiting until she is ready for commitment or sexy times 😊. If you are looking for a feel-good book for this winter with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA, this is your book.
Endark is losing control of his vultar and as a last ditch effort to keep it from going feral he agrees to his brothers crazy scheme of going into town and kidnapping a human bride. He doesn’t expect to find his mate! Now he just needs to capture her!
Becky is raising her much younger brother alone now that her mother has passed away. She is a good seamstress but it’s hard to make enough money to make ends meet. She took a job for a rich widow making dresses for her daughter because it included room and board for her and her brother. She is very unhappy there but is stuck. When she is kidnapped by a vultar she is terrified.
When she wakes up in Endarks cabin she is panic stricken because her brother is alone with no one to care for him. When Endark realizes what he has done he offers to find Danny and see he is taken care of until they can get him to the ranch after the storm. Endark realizes how badly he screwed up. Will his mate ever forgive him and accept him as his mate.
Endark and Becky must work through their problems and issues to make a family for all three of them. A touching story!
As a Voltar, Endark shifts into a beast, a more primal version of himself; but lately his control has been waning. Hoping that a mate might help his control, he agrees to his brother-in-arms Benjar’s suggestion, and finds himself kidnapping Becky, a seamstress who lives in town with her twelve year old brother. Becky doesn’t enjoy her work as the life-in dressmaker for the richest woman in town, who is also gifted with the worst taste. Her kidnap by Endark therefore, might just be the saving of them both!
This is the fifth book in the series, and just as fun and sweet as the others. Endark’s need is a little greater, but this gentle giant just wants to be loved!
I enjoy this series, with its medieval sci-fi romance style: the contrast between the high tech future and old fashioned values of the town of the Brides, makes for some entertaining reading. It’s a set of quick to read books, with a diverse cast of characters, and some intriguing background stories. Recommended for sci-fi romance lovers.
The Stockholm syndrome is strong in this one lads.
I didn't go into reading these novellas expecting Shakespeare, since they are after all, short novellas. I even skipped this one reading Frantor first so I only have one left. They are all quite repetitive and not too emotionally charged or even well developed but I expected that so no suprises or hate there. But I can't get over the ick of this one and here's why : girlie was full on tongueing him (idek if that even is a verb) literally 3h in into the kidnapping, said she's not gonna just give in to him demanding she's his mate (literally did the opposite tho) and the final ick was her saying while they were making out that his tounge in her mouth feels like its directly on her cl*t and also came just from that and him plucking the nip 3 times tops (.... like girlie... pls no)
(there's actually so much more that I hated in this one, this is just a rant, and i didn't finish it even tho I managed to finish 5 other novellas in this series just fine)
