After the sudden death of her husband, Silva struggles to find her way in a life that is now so different than the one she envisioned for herself. When offered the opportunity to start over in a new territory, she seizes the chance. But in order to truly start anew, Silva knows she must come clean about a secret she has held for far too long.
When she arrives at her new home, Silva is met by a man she was certain she would never see again, a man that threatens to heal the heart she was certain would never be whole again.
Every day since meeting her, Marcus has thought of the mysterious woman he met at his best friend’s wedding, although it never occurred to him that she would end up as a resident of his castle. Having her near him every day is both a blessing and a curse. He wants nothing more than to win her love, but her grieving heart keeps him at bay. He knows that only time can heal her, and he’s resolved to wait as long as it takes, for one day he knows she will love him.
But his love for her may not be enough, for there is another with a secret that could tear her away from him forever. Will Silva be able to move on from her past grief and heartbreak, or will her world be turned upside down once again?
Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna’s Legacy Series.
Bethany’s love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a “conventional” career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.
Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.
So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar’s office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.
Silva struggles day after day after her husband's sudden death and struggles to find her spot in a world that is so different from the twenty first century that she comes from.
Then when she arrives at her new home she sets eyes on a man that she was absolutely sure she would never see again. A man that could possible heal the heart that she was absolutely certain that would never heal again.
Every day Marcus remembers the mysterious woman he met at his best friend's wedding and it certainly never once occurred to him that that she would end up as a resident of the same castle he lives in which is called the Isle of the eight. Having her so near him day in and day out is both a blessing and a curse all at the same time. He knows that only time can heal her broken and grieving heart and he has decided to wait as long as it takes, for one day he is absolutely positive that she will love him as well.
But his love for him just may not be enough, for there is another bigger secret on the horizon that could tear her away from him forever and there is nothing he can do about it as Silva has to forge her own path in life. Will Silva be able to move on from her past grief and heartache, or will her life be turned upside down once again?
They don't call Bethany Claire the Queen of time travel for nothing. Once again she has managed to blow my mind and render me utter speechless. Ms. Claire has a talent for time travel that so many try, but never can keep my whole attention throughout the whole book and keep me thinking of it long after the book is all read. Kudos to Ms. Claire it seems that you have yourself another winner.
This book was excellent as with all books by this author. I really liked this one as it had some angst but as always there is a HEA. Pick up this book and any others of hers that you can she is a fantastic writer.
I really liked the series up to this point but this book left me disappointed. It felt rushed and unfinished. While I know there are more books to come, this particular book tied everything into a bow that I felt could/should have been dragged out over more books. The defeat was barely explained and it all really came together super fast in the last couple chapters. I felt like it would have been better to have the love interests of each of the Eight, along with one extra female as the ones to defeat the fae rather than the way it was in the book. (Trying hard not to give spoilers). For the first time, in the series, I was left unsatisfied.
Having started this series in October 2021 and seeing no new books for 22 months, I can only assume the Morna series has ended, which is a shame but also perfectly understandable. I have one last book to read and a wee novella. I hope the author decides to create a new time travel series as I have enjoyed this one up to this point.
This book continues the Isle of Eight Lairds story. The first few chapters were a little comfusing but I'm glad I stuck it out because the rest of the book was worth reading. Bethany Claire ties up a lot of loose ends in this book along with providing a wonderful love story. If you haven't read the previous books this is not a stand-alone story - you need to know what has happened in the previous few books so you know whwt is goig on and what danger the characters are facing. While this book seems to end this plot line I'm sure there are many more men and women in the past and present left for Morna to matchmake. I received an advanced copy of this book.
Seeing how all the time that Morna has taken to arrange events to culminate the Isle of 8 Lairds torture of having the 8 live there just to ensure the wicked fairy, Machara, didn’t escape her prison is totally awesome.
Marcus and Silva’s story made it even better. I was happy to know Marcus would have someone to share his life with, especially since he was tricked into coming to the 17th century.
Bethany Claire has hit it out of the park again with Love Beyond Destiny. Solid 5 star story.
Bethany Claire has given us possibly the best of her novels to date! If you have read her previous books, this one brings together several of the women you have already met to the Isle of Eight Lairds to defeat evil on the Isle. In the midst of this, Marcus and Silva find each other and a love they didn't know was possible for either of them. Ms. Claire's writing makes you feel like you are a part of the story. This book had some interesting twists and turns and I can't wait to find out what is in store for a few of the characters who have unresolved situations.
This is more than just a second chance at love for two people! This is a second chance for so many of the characters we’ve come to love from previous books. This is a second chance at a life without fear for all of them. One of them has a vision and he researches it until everyone else gets on board and they’re able to come to the same conclusion! They can win if they all stick together, and it shows that love always wins!!! She always makes you fall in love with all the characters of her books!!❤️
This is a continuation of the Isle of the Eight Lairds Story Line. It is another wonderful story and brings closure to the open stories within this series. Although with that being said I’m sure this isn’t the last we will see from the Isle of Eight. I always enjoy the love, friendship, and loyalty among these characters and this book is no different. Love and life can be complicated and it doesn’t matter if you are witch, Druid or mortal. Reading this book is like a visit with old friends.
Love beyond destiny book 11, l have read all 12 books in this series is a must to read the story’s all follow on from each book, Bethany Claire is a brilliant writer. The book is about a witch called Marna who helps people find love she is from the 16th century but lives in the 21st with her husband how old she is no one knows time travel pays a big part in these books u need to read the whole series u will not regret it believe me.
This latest installment in the Morna’s Legacy series ties up a plot that has been in the last few books. That was unexpected but quite delightful! We get some answers to past questions while seeing a new love blossom. But, there are hints for future stories, thank goodness. I love this series and this latest installment is as good as the previous books.
Another wonderful book by Bethany! This was a long awaited story with many twists that finally wrapped up the fate of Machara. I loved that this book brought back all the previous main characters for cameos. You will definitely want to read Book 9-10 before this one to get the full effect. You won’t regret it!
This is part of the Morna's Legacy Time Travel series that I love. There are around 12 books and I love all of them that include people traveling back and forth in time in Scotland. Each book is based on a certain couple helped with love by Morna but they all intact with each other. Some are based more on people moving back in time and some move forward but they all interact together.
I enjoyed the story of Marcus and Sylvia and how the entire castle of the Isle of Dune had to fight against the evil faerie. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me feel so much joy and love. I sure hope Ross finds it in him to love again. It was an exciting read. I highly recommend it.
Bethany Claire has literary outdone herself with this tour d force book. It left me spellbound and never have I wanted a book to go on forever. Simply amazing
Truly a love story of destiny, Marcus and Silva are reunited when she returns to the Isle of Eight. This story wraps up the "why" of the 9 women Morna had arranged love for...
Great way to end the series... however, I am hoping there will be a few more books from Bethany Claire in this line. I really enjoyed this series of stories and feel there are a lot more stories to be heard! Keep on going Ms. Claire! Thanks for the entertainment!
Love Beyond Destiny is another chapter in Morna's Legacy. Last the readers/listeners left off was that Machara is imprisoned. One of the eight lairds sacrificed himself to save Kate. I was hoping it would be his story next but it is a bit too soon.
Marcus is adjusting to 1651. His one night stand at his best friend, Kate's wedding, showed up at the Isle of the Eight Lairds. He discovered that Silva was grieving for her husband and was trying to move on.
There is so much happening in this story. There is someone from Silva passed that I wanted to know and than there is one of the lairds that I want to know if he will ever escape from the fae world.
There isn't enough information about defeating Machara except that the women who are meant to be in 1651, did defeated her. It would also be interesting to hear the aftermath of Nicholas and Freya's reunion.
The one thing I do know is I'm already looking forward to the next book in Morna's Legacy.
The narrator, Lily Collingwood is still at her best for this series. I can't wait to listen to her voice again.
I was given this audiobook by the author. I have volunteered to write an unbiased review for this book. I was not compensated or influence in any way on writing this review.
Love Beyond Destiny: A Scottish Time Travel Romance (Morna’s Legacy Book 16)
Eight druids or seven druids could not rid the evil fae or restore Nicolas wife. Sure enough Morna the love witch tries to help. It didn’t take magic but all the women that Morna had sent back in time.
What a great storyteller you are! Very imaginative on so many levels. I am reading this series one after the other and can't wait for the next one. Love the time travels and Morna's story has been my favorite. I hope you're working on a new series!
I waited forever for this book to come out. I am so delighted with the results and believe the wait was worth it all. I had to read it twice before I wrote this, I loved it so much. I am now waiting impatiently to see what will happen to Ross.... will his heart be healed? Will he find love? Keep the books coming Bethany!
A great addition to this series! Although it was a bit slow in the beginning, it quickly picks up the pace and answers so many questions from other books! Love hearing more about the trial of 1600 Scotland! Good read!
