If anyone knows how to recharge your organization's positivity, recognize progress, and make learning fun, it's Sam Glenn, The Attitude Guy. The most frequent comment you will hear after EVERY Sam Glenn speech is, "That's just what I needed!" We can confidently say that Sam Glenn is the best kick off or closing speaker to any meeting or conference....just ask anyone.
Sam Glenn's wisdom and stories are gleaned from his own life experiences of successes and failures. Having lost a successful business due to fire, Sam became negative, broke, depressed, jobless, and homeless - almost overnight. It was a chance encounter and friendship with the late and legendary, Zig Ziglar that gave Sam what he calls a "Kick in the Attitude." It was a gift that changed his attitude - and life - for the better. Within two years, Sam went from sleeping on the floor to inspiring audiences as large as 75,000 at stadium events. Sam's ability to pull positivity out of adversity, has led him to become the leading voice on the topic of attitude as it relates to being a leader, dealing with change, cultivating a culture of engagement, improving customer service, and improving your personal and professional development. Sam's energetic, and often humorous, programs engage, equip and empower audiences with practical strategies to embrace a new and fresh outlook on the way they interact with co-workers, clients, customers, family, and friends alike. I read this book even tho I am retired . I was a supervisor in the 90's for a telephone call center. I had some of the best managers ,and a hard working team. But I spent my last 10 years working for a Healthcare call center. Again the management was very strong, and took the time to let us know how good we were doing or if they thought we needed a little help . And I seem to remember ,in my 3rd year, Sam came to Waco,Texas ,to the call center of HCSC ,or Blue Cross /Blue Shield of Texas . I remember gathering in the break room, with the entire workforce,to watch him draw an awesome picture while he talked. Don't remember the actual topic, but do remember the wonderful feeling I felt as we left. But our management mad our days at work so much fun. As I read this book, I kept thinking that all the "good" stuff, applied to all the leadership there. I am now retired, and still stay in touch with my managers and supervisors on Facebook . Wonderful people !
Sam never disappoints! I have seen him speak in the past as a youth and an adult. He NEVER gets old and always brings something new! After reading this book, I definitely had some “AHA” moments that I will implement immediately in my leadership role. If you are looking for reminders and a SUPER easy read about what it takes to be a great leader. This is your book! I highly recommend!
