Corrupting the Image 3: Singularity, Superhumans, and the Second Coming of Jesus

Rate this book
When two prophets with superhuman powers arrive to warn of God's coming judgment, the world largely rejects their message and treats them as hostile extra-terrestrials who must be stopped at any cost. Posing as an ancient alien, Satan's hybrid-avatar the Beast kills them and urges humanity to take the mark of the Beast and evolve into gods to fight against the coming alien invasion led by Jesus.

Note, I would have messaged the author privately, rather than make this book review public - but Goodreads won't allow it anymore :(

I couldn’t get into the book. It was based mainly on eschatology, rather than the subjects about singularity and superhumans which the title promised.
The eschatology was off. The author has got the Two Witnesses appearing in the wrong time frame.
“For a period of forty-two months, the Two Witnesses will call down fire, stop the rain, turn waters into blood, and essentially trash the earth,” he says. Trash the earth? Where does it say that in the Bible? They are more likely to stop the rain in Israel like Elija, or cause plagues and the waters to turn to blood like Moses.
It’s more likely to be asteroids and/or fallen angels trashing the earth.
I doubt the two witnesses will be seen as ET’s wearing sackcloth. It’s cliché but where are the silver suits?
And they’re put in the wrong time frame. The author says, “The abomination of desolation occurs in conjunction with the killing of the Two Witnesses.” Where in the Bible does it say that?
The angel says they’ll show up AFTER the holy city Jerusalem will be trodden underfoot for 42 months … “But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months…
And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” (Rev 11:2-3)
It’s clear from the ‘and’ word when the Two Witnesses show up.
The first and second woes confirm it.
The woes are in relation to the 5th, 6th and 7th trumpets; “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!” (Rev 8:13)
Apollyon turns up in the first woe (Rev 9:12) at the blowing of the 5th Trumpet (Rev 9:1).
The second woe begins with the unleashing of the second demonic army (Rev 9:12-13).
The second woe ends after the two witnesses are killed and resurrected. (Rev 11:11-14)
The author states that the book of Rev is not in chronological order and that there’s three vantage points of the end time. I don’t agree. It’s clear the judgments are sequential and increase in severity. There are intervals , in Rev 12,7,13,11 for dates and definitions. The rest of it’s sequential with the words ‘and’ or ‘after these things.’
The approach the author makes leads to no end of confusion.
I did agree with the author on a couple of points, it is likely we will see a plethora of UFO sightings all over the world and I do agree that Gog is the Antichrist.
But I was left disappointed. I wanted to learn about the singularity and superhumans, not personal theories about how the two witnesses will be perceived or the timing of events in Revelation.
I woud give the book 2.5 stars. It just missed the mark. It's not good but it's not terrible either, and I did finish it.

Only GOD Knows

I started when book one was first released in print. Found it very well written and Dr. Hamp was fascinating as well as extremely informative relating to items that often set me to wondering. So when I saw that he had released his following two volumes, with #3 made public just this year (2022) I grabbed both books and boy am I glad I did. Book two took up where #1 left off and addressed several issues that have crept into the church in the past several years. Then book #3 was the crown topper. Dr. Douglas Hamp doesn't always take on the issues most popular but his take on all items are well researched and follow thru with scriptural backing and clear reasoning. If you wanna be gripped by a book that will blow your socks off read book three. It's so good and filled with so much up to date stuff it'll make you anxious to go into the other two volumes also. A great choice that will set your soul afire and put your mind at ease as a Child of GOD.

Corrupting the image 3 Douglas Hamp

A really excellent look into today's world how scientific mankind is trying to change God's creation. Also well covered from the scripture is Christ's return and kingdom setup here on earth as well as a look at the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven. Doug does a great job with the details from the original Hebrew and concepts not fully understood by your novel believer. I really got a lot out of this book and I have read #2 as well and look forward to # 4 coming out in late 2023.

Great job Doug!
