❥ This book. Oh. Em. Gee. Everything about this was completely unhinged, dark, twisted and I loved single nanosecond of it. I could not get enough. The story starts off chaotic and pace was set. Full Speed Ahead.

First read it autumn last year but wanted to do a reread because this is so damn good 😍

Audrey Rush is one of my favorite writers and Hitch is my second favorite of her dark romances, altough I only read 3. They are definitely on the darker side but I love following the characters and the messiness of them. Altough I wouldn't ever want to meet them.
Got another book by her on my shelf and very intruiged to get to it soon.

Lately, it's been such a clusterfuck of luck on the book department for me... I was pretty exited to start this since I really needed something dark, I was hoping to push my boundaries too since I've read TWs and sharing is NOT my thing but I was like whatevs... Maybe I can handle if I know about it prior and it's not a surprise.
well I didn't enjoy the story anyway. It wasn't anything special, nothing particularly dark nor steamy. The sharing also didn't make sense for the Hero since he was possessive and jealous but maybe that's on me since I just love when MCs are exclusive.

First of all, a HUGE thank you to Audrey for allowing me to have an ARC of this beautiful book!!🖤. It was such a privilege🥹. This is my second ARC from you, first being Dead Love which I loved, and now with this book, I can honestly say I was definitely NOT DISAPPOINTED.

With that being said onto the review✨.

“ I don’t care what she wants. I don’t care if this is wrong or right. I take what I want. I do what I want. I kill what I want. And If I’m going to kill her, I’m going to fuck her pretty little slit first. “

When I tell you I was intoxicated with this book. It had me questioning my morals and sanity🤣.

It started off heavy on the spice right from the first chapter. Just gobsmacked me right in my face. It was so raw, primal and freaking erotic, had me taking a deep breath😭. I barely recovered before getting slapped twice as hard with the spicer darkness that came next. At that point my brain had short circuited tbh🤣🤣. I had to throw all reality, ethics, morals, values and feminism out the window to get engrossed with such a toxic yet enchantingly filthy story 😩.

(Somebody drown me in holy water please)



Also, let me quickly mention, the way the author cleverly weaved the title several times within the book? I loved it!

My girl Reggie, I have a love hate relationship with her if im being honest. I really liked her in the beginning don’t get me wrong, independent, puts up a fight and unashamed to do what she has to do in order to survive. I definitely also respected when she admitted her desires and what she actually fantasized about, that was an empowering but also vulnerable moment for her. HOWEVER, there are certain instances where she pissed me off! She be disrespecting my man Duane and deluding herself. She knows what she’s getting into when she gets involved with him but still gets angry and shocked when certain things happen. Like seriously? I can’t -



But my Delicious Duane. He’s… honestly I can’t lie, the guys a psychopath. But damn is he filthy asf. I’m lowkey afraid of him though 😭. But dammit if I still won’t let him hold a knife to me and choke me out😩. He’s heavy on the gun and knife play. And when I say gun play I mean.. fully loaded😌. That man is the epitome of ⚠️. But like, smoldering hot yet fully deranged danger🔥🥵.

I mean-

- Duane licks the tip of the gun, tasting my pussy juices on it. His eyes lock with mine as a groan of pleasure erupts from his chest, then he sucks the rest of my liquid off of the pistol.“So fucking sweet,” he says.

- “ I love it when they fight me. It makes the hunt that much better. “

The dangerous spice in this book had me gasping and fanning myself.



As much as he was crazy, his obsession with Reggie, or as he likes to call her, Hitch😉, was next level. It was literally driving him MAD. He is definitely a “touch her and you die” type. Literally☠️. AND best of all, he’s willing to DROP TO HIS KNEES AND DIE FOR HER. And she be having the audacity to be an ungrateful little- 🤣😭. But! she redeemed herself in the end so it’s all good 😌. Mostly💁🏽‍♀️.

The way this book had me going back and forth to solve the blackmailer mystery. I got so frustrated sometimes and silently screamed, cause there were times I thought I knew and then I doubted myself n said nah, probably not🤣. BUT I WAS RIGHT IN THE END! Legit did a fist pump when I realized my assumptions were correct!

All in all, this book was beautifully written. I believe that it also has a message showing that no matter what struggles are being faced or the hardships life throws at you, even when all of those things knock you down, you can still get back up. You can try to, ‘swim against the tide’ so to speak and push through, whether to be strong for yourself or for others. It also shows that although you may believe that you don’t need help from anyone and can do everything on your own, sometimes sharing your burden with another may not be a bad thing. Sometimes you don’t need someone who’s all sunshine and rainbows, sometimes you just need someone who has been through a level of darkness as well and can actually understand and relate to you, and really be the type of comfort you need.

This book was intense, deliciously dark and had me in a chokehold. Sometimes I had to remind myself to breathe 🤣😭. I really enjoyed it and would rate it 4.9 taking .1 off due to Reggie just, getting on my nerves sometimes💁🏽‍♀️.

And for the closing✨ “I don’t care if she’s paid or not. A man who doesn’t worship his woman is a sorry excuse for a person. Worship doesn’t always come in the form of submission. Sometimes, it’s listening to what your woman wants, even when she won’t say it out loud. Even if she only says it with her body.” (Say 👏🏽it👏🏽 louder 👏🏽👏🏽my Delicious Duane!!🗣)

I loved the spice, at least initially, and the asshole Duane. He met his match with the feisty Reggie, stage name Secret, whom he named Hitch. Duane is a bad guy, a killer, and they are both attracted to their mutual depravity.

A faster pace read that felt slow, and unfortunately, the story didn’t maintain my attention. Pity since it had the bones to do so. Dub and non con, gun play, glory hole, etc. DNF at 30% for now.

This book was magnificent. Audrey Rush 100% delivered, as always. It’s DARK. Raw. Unhinged. And dips into the things people are ashamed of. It’s also very spicy in the most dark and delicious ways. IF YOU DONT READ AND APPRECIATE DARK BOOKS THEN DO NOT READ THIS. Duane and Reggie’s story is beautiful. And if you disagree, you’re wrong.

Depraved Stalker Romance

A stalker obsessed with a hitchhiker who will do anything for money and independence… what’s not to like?

It was dark and depraved and so many fantastic things. I suspected the plot twist before it happened but it was still a good one.

Thank you Audrey for allowing me to get an advanced reader copy! This is a dark romance that follows a murderous stalkers obsession with the heroine. The book had a crazy beginning and kept getting crazier as you read. This book was dark and intense but had me in a chokehold from the beginning. I read this book in one day in about three sittings but you can definitely read in only one sitting. Duane is a local drug dealer and Reggie is an exotic dancer. Duane and Reggies chemistry/relationship are amazing. I loved how Audrey was able to weave the title of the book throughout the book. This book was dirty, dark, and depraved. This book was so good! I loved the suspense, mystery, and pace of the book. I highly recommend looking up the triggers on Audrey’s website before reading. I would love to read another book on Duane and Reggie’s love story!

The Book Overall isn’t too bad, but it was very predictable and fast paced. And when I closed the book, to me it really wasn’t that dark either.
I expected way more darker aspects to Duane, but he got weird near the end, total personality shift too weirdly obsessive (you’ll see the change later in the book from obsessive to I’m almost certain he almost ‘golden retrievered’ obsessive), it just didn’t seem right. He didn’t seem Alpha/Dominant Persona near the end to me.

I Give this a 3.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.
HEA(?): Yes, but I can’t believe I’m saying this but it was wrapped up waaaaaaaay to well with a bow. It just in the end if your analyzing it, it shouldn’t have been that ‘perfect’. I wanted more drama & suspense and basic questions answered that just seems shoved under the rug to make room for a big bow.

Heat: 3/5, in the beginning I rated this higher but near the end, steam seemed to dwindle in temp. Also the kinks/fantasies were just talked about mainly, especially the best ones.
Romance: 3.5/5, I’m just not entirely satisfied with the Epilogue just went too fluffy. Didn’t fit.
Dark: Yeah it dark-ish I guess 2.5-3(?), though this may be darker for others. But man, I was expecting DARK ROMANCE not meager clean up crew, I wanted to see the darker more stalker, more dark heat, just more.
Drama: 2.5-3/5
Suspense: 3.5/5
Pacing: This read waaay faster than I was expecting.
There were a few confusing parts, but the MAIN thing this book needed - was breathing room - and there isn’t any past the 50%, so as you read you can’t absorb so you have to reread.
But then you realize some sections didn’t seem fully completed like some scenes might’ve been forgotten to be added in later. This should’ve been Beta read, or at least Beta read Better. The Plot plainly- Its Rushed.
Predictability: 4/5


If anything the Authors Note in the beginning, promises waaay more than what is actually within the book itself. I was hook-line-sinker’ed on this one and it was definitely too good to be true overall, if your a Dark Heat Romance Reader Like Me.

This book was good - it’s dark, depraved, & dirty. What starts out as a stalking, turns into so much more. There’s a bit of a mystery going on throughout the book to figure out who the blackmailer is. Reggie is a badass female leading role and Duane is the always appealing bad guy you should really hate but can’t help but love. Duane is a local farmer, who spots Reggie on the side of the road. She witnesses something she's not supposed to. Duane should “take care of her”, but is too infatuated, so he lets her live but keeps a very close eye on her. Duane and Reggie’s love story is very dark, and sometimes graphic in the way they used each other.

Hoooly! This book was so good. It’s dark, depraved, & dirty. What starts out as a stalking, turns into so much more. There’s a bit of a mystery going on throughout the book to figure out who the blackmailer is. Quite a bit of non-con and other dark coherent so please read the TW’s at the beginning. Reggie is a stripper working to support her mom, Duane is a farmer growing drugs to sell, murdering anyone who gets in his way. He hates loose ends, and he finds himself troubled when Reggie ends up a loose end. It’s interesting to watch the struggle he goes through and his internal warring. Who knew a chase through a corn field could be so intriguing. So good. Everyone should read it!!

I read and reviewing the arc copy of this book from Audrey and Oh my goodness! This book was so good. From the very begging Reggie and Duane’s story immediately pulled me in. Reggie is a badass female leading role and Duane is the always appealing bad guy you should really hate but can’t help but love. Their constant back and forth banter and intense chemistry through the book were my favorite. The book really appealed to me and kept entertained to very end on trying to figure out who the blackmailer was. The ending of the book was the best way I believe that it could have ended in my opinion. I would love to read more of Reggie and Duane’s story if and when Audrey decides to write about them again. 10/10 would recommend this book. I’ve already told all my friends about it.

This book contains A LOT of triggers so please check them before reading! Reggie and Duane have a little partnership going on where they are both benefiting from it, but neither of them trust each other. I don't want to put too many spoilers in here, but if you're a lover of dark romance, definitely read this!! Reason for the 3.5 rating was I felt like there was quite a lot of repetition and Duane allowed some things to happen that didn't agree with his character.

It typical Audrey fashion, this was dark & crazy! I truthfully don’t know how she comes up with these plots! Surprisingly not her darkest, even though this was her first time writing non-con.

If Audrey continues to write them then I will continue to read them! As always with Audrey- expect lots of potential triggers & take the warning seriously.

Well, its clear that I am never NOT going to rate Audrey's books anything other than five stars.

The complete chokehold her writing has on me is insane.

Duane is amazing; just like all the other men that she has given us. Lol. I adore Reggie as well. I love how tough she is. And don't get me started on all of the depraved, sex driven plot with just the perfect amount of twists and turns. It ended perfectly. And I am onto the next book from Audrey because I cannot get enough.

This book! THIS BOOK!! I am obsessing over it, and have been since I finished it! I should be concerned for how much I loved it because Duane is a stalker/Serial killer but like where can I find my own Duane?🥵😂
This book is dark, but oh so sexy🥵 I have been obsessed with everything Audrey has written! I really liked Reggie’s personality and her character development in this book she really accepted who she was and watching her and Duane’s relationship growth was AMAZING 🥵!!

If you like books like Bait, Haunting Adeline, and Crawl you should definitely pick this one up!! After reading the TWs and notes from the author I really expected this book to be pitch black. And maybe I’m a little desensitized to extremely dark stories, or maybe it’s the MMC’s (Duane) code of ethics despite being a MAJOR villain and the FMC’s (Reggie) determination to survive and thrive on her own terms that smoothed the edges, but it doesn’t matter… This was a really good story. The author explored forced kink and sex work in this book and I think she pulled it off very well. I couldn’t help falling in love with Duane and I appreciated Reggie’s strength (never been a big fan of the helpless damsel). The action begins in the first chapter so be prepared!!

I highly recommend Hitch to anyone who enjoyed the Haunting Adeline vibes with the non-con and stalker vibes. I read this book quickly and will re-read it in the future. In my opinion, Hitch is a 5 / 5 Star read for anyone looking for an edgy, angst-filled, dark, stalker romance.
