I’ve been in love with Penny Fox from the moment our eyes first met across the hall in high school. But she’s always been out of reach. That’s okay because I’ve waited for her. I’ve followed her.
Stalked her.
Now that we’re at college, I’m going to claim her as my own.
But then she shows up at a frat party trying to reinvent herself, and I’m about to lose my mind.
USA Today bestselling author Emma Bray writes intense, steamy romances with possessive alpha males who’ll stop at nothing to claim the women they want. Emma’s instalove stories are filled with heat, passion and happily ever afters.
Aghhhh, I love this author. She’s a go-to for me whenever she drops a book; I love her stalker obsessive heroes and her amazing, sweet, innocent heroines. So it hurts to write this review. Damn it.
This one fell flat for me. It was so rushed that the name of the heroine would flip from Jenny to penny. Like, wtf? Editor, anyone?
It literally took me less than 20 minutes to read this. Now, granted, I read really fast (with 3 kids, a hubs, a job and two dogs, if I ever want to finish a book, being a rapid reader is a necessity!), BUT even for me 20 mins on a novella was a bit too fast. There was no relationship development between the two, no tension, no build-up, so no climax. Even the spicy bits were a little too white bread for me. There was very little emotion in this one, and so it just fizzled.
This book could’ve been much better, it needed an editor and just a bit more development. It wasn’t terrible, and if anyone needs a bite-sized romance to devour during a lunch break, this would be the perfect snack!
Safe. Dual virgins. No others (I don’t count some random drunk college frat boy hitting on h as OM, it was just a couple sentences.) no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out.
If you like the old fashioned Harlequin books inherited from your mother, you will like this. I feel that this little insta-love reads should be sweet, easy and without overly exorbitant drama, so far this writer's style meets my reading requirements without getting me all frazzled and pissed of with some jackalope imaginary H and doormat h.
The boy was so sweet and in love with the h.
I give this a 8 star or a 10 on my own personal grading scale.
I liked this one better than the first one so if you weren't super satisfied with the first book of this series I do recommend reading this one. all of these short stories have really great plots that could make decent full size novels. big aggressive possessive sportsman with short tiny rather innocent women. the epilogues are would do it for me. the first is the introduction and the epilogue is some of their happily ever after.

Joey's been obsessed with Penny since he first saw her senior year of high school. Penny's the principal's only child. He's held off on college until she goes so they can go together. Somehow he's managed to track her through her phone. Usual misunderstanding plot, Daddy kink, both virgins, no condom.
This was fun until Joey told Penny to call him daddy. What the heck was that? He's just 2 years older than her (20 & 18). That "daddy" calling was cringey and his grand gestures was so over the top. Although probably cute for some readers, his efforts gave me second hand embarrassment, but it's probably a me thing.
I usually don't read sports stories because more often than not there is cheating. But this book has the stalker aspect so I figured why not. I'm so glad I did, I loved it. It's a great quick read and I love the stalker part.
this book was wayyy to rushed. I'm usually into the stalker thing but the fact that he waited for her to get legal was just concerning. and why was this girl already on her knees for him after a two second convo for the first time with him.
Ever since Joey laid eyes on Penny he knew she was meant to be his, he just had to give her some time. Will he be able to finally have Penny now that they are at the same college?
This was a quick story and because of that there was no relationship building. Also the H's name was charged in several places from Penny to Jenny. That is annoying tbh.
I honestly really like this author and mostly love everything she writes too, but this one doesn’t fit.
The story is so rushed and so short that I finished the book in almost half an hour. There is no build up of the love and although the book has some sweet moments, they feel without real emotion behind them.
It seems like a few romantic and sexy scenarios have been out together to make this story, without really adding the obsession and alpha-ness and heavy emotion that Emme Bray is famous for. It annoys me when a book with so much potential falls so incredibly flat.
PS: The mistake with the heroine’s name... Penny or Jenny... a bit of an editing fail... And personally... the attempt at ‘daddy knk’ is just forced here
