Lifelong mercenary Sagara Sousuke’s struggles to fit in at a regular Japanese high school continue. He turns a turf war with delinquents into a hostage situation, investigates a local shrine for nuclear weapons, and sends a struggling rugby team through boot camp! He’s getting closer with his friend Chidori Kaname, too... but between almost losing an important assignment of hers—forcing them into a race against time to get home and back—and running recon on her first date with an old crush, he might be a little behind in the count! But however the game turns out, this is one batter that always swings for the fences!
Shoji Gatoh ( 賀東招二), born on July 11, 1971, is a Japanese author from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. He is best known for the creation of the Full Metal Panic! series that included light novels, manga and anime. He is not only an author but also an anime scenarist, for example "The Day of Sagittarius" of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and three episodes of Lucky Star.
Once again, even when I basically know what happens in each story, I like the fact that I discover some things we didn't fully get in the animation (or maybe I just don't remember the anime very well).
I like the fact that this volume contains 3 different stories in which we see Sousuke's thoughts/feelings about Kaname even when he still didn't understand it. And I love that Kyoko has been their number supporter since the start.
Up till this point, most of the stories written in this novel were covered in the animation series, 'Full Metal Panic Fumoffu'... Therefore I will not be provide a full review of this book. However, this is the first novel that introduces everyone to the infamous cute character, 'Bonta-kun'... I personally find it quite cute... :P
