When her rescue dog's mysterious past leads to murder, an unemployed stuntwoman must risk everything to bring the killer to justice.
I’m Whitley Leland, but you can call me Whit. My life recently took a deadly turn when I got involved in a murder investigation, all thanks to a five-pound Chihuahua named Kit.
You see, I went to visit Kit’s former owner and instead found his dead body. That put me smack in the middle of a deadly game of winner take all, including Kit. Thank goodness for Bobbie, my hippy-dippy grandmother, who’s turned out to be the best sidekick ever.
I’ll have to uncover the truth about Kit's mysterious past before someone else ends up dead.

I received this book as an ARC but that has no bearing on this review. I loved it. With it’s quirky characters, interesting storyline and an unexpected twist, it had me highly entertained from the very beginning until the end. I thought I had it figured out who the murderer was, but then there was that unexpected twist I mentioned. I highly recommend it.
With her reputation sullied after she turns her skills on an amorous director, stuntwoman Whitley Leland is enjoying her prolonged visit with her grandmother Bobbie while awaiting a hopeful return to LA and her profession. Bobbie is also pursuing her training as a private investigator under the tutelage of local PI Bernard and frequently persuading Whit to accompany her. Meanwhile, they both are captivated by the tiny talented rescue chihuahua Kit. When Whit is contacted by a man claiming to be her owner, both women are determined to keep Kit, who has wrapped her tiny paws around their hearts. When Whit plans a meeting with the supposed owner, she instead encounters a dead body. This sets off a chain of events involving kidnapping, guns, drones and chases through the snow-covered mountainous roads and icy slippery trails of Arrow Springs. Why is everyone so intent on possessing Kit? She is a talented performer, but is there something more to her story? The mystery is enticing and there are many puzzling clues and humorous moments throughout this engrossing tale. There is also a hint that Whit’s birth mother may be in town and this will likely be pursued in a future series title. I am thoroughly entertained by these characters and this unique series and eagerly anticipate future books. I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review of this entertaining mystery.
Whitley Leland, a black listed stuntwoman is now staying with Bobbie, her feisty grandmother in a small pacific town. Bobbie is training to be a PI under Bernard a local PI and Bobbie can convince Whit to come to training at times with her. When Whit gets a little rescue chihuahua even though she doesn't want a dog, she and Bobbie become enamored of the little talented pup they call Kit. When Mr. Vance tells Whitley that the dog is called Roxy and it is his dog. But when the dog is in front of him, he wants to bite him and he barks at him. How could this be his dog? Whitley and Bobbie have decided there is not way they will turn the dog over to this Mr. Vance. But when Whitley goes to a meeting with Mr. Vance, she finds him murdered. Now what! Of Course Bobbie and Whitley have to investigate the murder. Lots of twists and turns and some humor, just when you think you have it - you don't! This is so much fun to read and try to unravel. Surprise ending. I really like this series and you will too with great characters that are fun to follow. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
More giggles and struggles in the next installment of the Arrow Investigations Mysteries series. It kept me guessing the whole way through; just when I thought I knew "who" another clue came along and it wasn't who I thought it was.
Multiple layers of the story and people; Walker is continuing to develop Whit and Bobbie along with some other characters in the town. The descriptions are quite vivid; I'd love to visit the real place this town is based off of.
There were a few innuendos, but mostly it was misunderstandings as opposed to purposeful interaction.
Certainly loved the focus on Kit. I had all sorts of hypotheticals in my mind why she could be so valuable... none of which was the real cause. :) Well done, Ms. Walker.
Whit loves Kit the little dog and refuses to let Mr Vance who calls her Roxy take her back. When Kit meets Mr. Vance she growls at him and tries to bite him. If he really was her owner, why would she do that?
Then Mr. Vance ends up dead and Whit finds him. But he turns out not to be the real Mr. Vance. What is going on?
Whit and her grandmother Bobbie who is training to become a private detective under Bernard who has a detective agency try to figure out who killed the fake Mr. Vance before the real one comes to take Kit away.
This clever mystery with lots of twists and turns in a snowy mountain town in the Pacific Northwest will keep you guessing until the very end!
Whitley Leland, former stunt woman now living with her feisty grandmother, Bobbie and her sidekick dog Kit is distraught when she hears that the former owner wants Kit back immediately. Not willing to give Kit up without a fight she is soon embroiled in a mystery when a man claiming to be Kit’s rightful owner is killed in his hotel room and is found by Whit. Along with the help of her grandmother, PI in training, Whit will do everything possible to keep Kit, a dog she has come to love. This is a serious, hilarious, and terrific mystery with great characters and of course, charming Kit. This my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
Before leaving on a trip Whit's Mom left her a shelter dog and her Grandmother Bonnie to care for. They went back to Bonnie's house and Whit's hometown. Being bored is not a problem. There's Kelvin who deals in electronics and seems to enjoy being Secret Squirrel. The Houdini dog everyone wants, some enough to kill. The handsome Henry who acts as if he'd like to get to know Whit it better, but actually wants the dog. Grandma Bonnie who wants to be a private investigator. Rosa who carries everything from pepper spray to throwing stars. And lots of snow.
Kit's previous owner Mr Vance is in a hurry to get Kit back. But why does Kit try to bite him? And who is the mysterious dark haired woman? When Mr Vance is murdered and Whit discovers the body at the local inn, the fingers start pointing. Can Whit solve the murder and keep Kit safe? A little romance, a lot of laughs, and a mysterious woman from Whit's past make for a fun read! Kept me interested and guessing until the end.
I’m in love with Kit, the amazing chihuahua! This was a fun book to read, between Whit’s grandmother, Bobbi, deciding to become a PI and apprenticing herself to the local down and out PI, Kit’s antics and Whit’s wry wit! These characters are a hoot and the plot really kept me guessing about who were the bad guys. I am so looking forward to reading more of the adventures of this trio! I received a free ARC from the author and write this review voluntarily.
This is book two in the Arrow Investigation Mystery series. I have never read anything by KC Walker before, Omg this was fantastic. Whit and her little dog Kit are enjoying time with her grandmother Bobbi, who has decided to become a PI. There is always something going on with Whit and Kit. Who is really after Kit? Loved the plot, it will keep you guessing, great setting, and funny interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from KC Walker!
Excellent book with amazing characters (and the adorable, very cute Kit). Apart from being a lot of fun the story is fast-paced, with twists you won’t see coming, and suspenseful until the end. Highly recommended.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
Kit is the main character, and readers get to learn more about her. The grandmother’s PI interest and activities increase. The lack of support by businesses about allowing Kit into their shops and restaurants becomes annoying after a couple references. That said, the series is developing with several potential future story ideas.
This book moves at a good pace and ,held my interests throughout. I would liked to know more about th origins of the dog, but hopefully it will be in the next book.
It all centers around Kit, the dog her mother insisted she needs. They've gotten really attached, and now people are after the dog. Humor and twists and turns, my kind of story.
This was a fun cozy mystery. The unemployed stunt woman got a raw deal from her last stunt gig. I admired her for doing the right thing, but she is a lot snarky and negative. She has reasons to be. But her grandmother, Bobbi, is awesome. Bobbi is loving and kind, and Bobbi is the one pushing to investigate which I adore. The two together make a great team.
When Kit first turned up in her life, Whitley was determined that she did not want a pet, much less a little yappy dog but her mother had given the shelter a large donation and they were not about to take Kit back, so Kit stayed. And it was not long before Kit wormed her way into Whit's heart and now Whit knew that there was no way Kit was going to be taken away. Not by anyone. Especially someone who Kit growls at. Not someone who is going to put her in a cage. Not even someone who is prepared to kill to get her.
Another fun read from Walker - you really cannot help but laugh at Whit, she is feisty and amazing with her stunt work but at the same time, a big gooey thing inside, especially when it comes to Kit! Great stuff!
