Love, mystery, secrets, and a ghost. Who can you trust?
One windswept Chicago autumn, teenager Laini Raiker’s life changed forever.
The mafia murdered her birth parents, and she’s tossed into protective custody, starting life with nothing but a new name with a new family.
Eighteen years later, Laini was blissfully married to the love of her life, Jaxton Travelli, until she woke up in the hospital staring down at her comatose body. How the hell did she get there? Did her now-missing husband abandon her? Refusing to believe the worst, Laini is determined to discover the truth.
As she delves deeper, a web of lies emerges as long-lost enemies surface, threatening to destroy her family and everything she believes in.
But time is running out. With the mafia closing in, how can Laini save her missing husband when she is a ghost? How is she to save herself before she becomes permanently spirit bound?
Love and loyalties are tested in this plot-twisting, romancing, action-packed, who-can-you-trust, page-turning book.

A thrilling story

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Laini and Jax are enjoying life together and expecting a baby when their vehicle gets in an "accident". This leaves Laini in a coma and Jax has disappeared, with evidence that he left her for another woman. Laini might be in a coma but her spirit is haunting her body and able to communicate with her sister Essy, trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together as more mafia agents seek to end their lives. There's plenty of witty banter, thrilling action, and a few surprise twists that neither you or Laini won't see coming. I highly recommend it!

A fun paranormal romance

I enjoyed reading this paranormal romance story of Laini, her husband Jax, and sister Essy as I followed them on their journey through danger and reunions. Laini and Jax are pursued and captured by mysterious bad characters. During long weeks in a coma, Laini’s spirit separates from her body and helps her sister track down her captive husband. Is the danger past when they are reunited? I’ll not tell, but for me, the pages kept turning!

Gave up about 22% through. Personally, I think this book is confused about it's own story, hard to follow, hard to read, and just not worth reading.
