Sometimes being in the wrong place at the wrong time leads you exactly where you’re needed the most…
Lily Turns out, the rumors about my ruthless boss were true. He’s mafia. And I just witnessed something that could ruin his life…and mine. So, imagine my surprise when instead of killing me, he kidnaps me. Now, I’m on a secluded island with a man who should terrify me. But he doesn’t. Because he’s different here. Here, I see a man so beautifully broken I’m starting to feel things I know I shouldn’t. He stole my freedom… I can’t let him steal my heart too.
Alessandro If anyone else had witnessed what she did, they’d be dead. But when the time came to pull the trigger, I couldn’t do it. So, I made her my captive. I know that sharing this place with her, letting her know my dark secrets, gives her too much power—and I can’t afford another weakness. Letting her live threatens everything. And none of that matters when I see her smile…

After meeting Alessandro in the previous book and the mystery that surrounded him and his life I was really intrigued to dive into his story.
Lily was such a wonderful character. She already has gone through so much before meeting Alessandro. I really enjoyed their banter and how she matched his stubbornness and didn't allow him to make her feel small despite her disability and difference in status. The first time they meet she is interviewing for his assistant position, and he dismisses her, but she barged in there and knocked him out with her wit and perseverance.
She's clueless to who her boss really is and the mafia world he rules in Chicago.
An incident occurs which causes Lily to witness something she shouldn’t, and Alessandro does what he needs to do in order to save and protect her from the backlash she faces for knowing too much information also for uncovering something sinister behind the scenes at Alessandro’s company that puts her even in more of a spotlight for the bad guys to want her dead.
I really liked Lily and Pietro's friendship. It was the sweetest interactions, and you can tell both of them needed this kind of relationship.
Pietro broke my heart with the way he viewed himself and the way he believed Alessandro viewed him. I love that none of his fears were ever true, and he was loved beyond imaginable.
A lot of twists and reveals happen in this book and I was wondering who the main villain would be as it switched a lot to reveal the truth and WHY it was all happening.
However despite all these wonderful things I did want more and I couldn't pinpoint what was missing within the story.
Another great read by one of my favorite mafia romance authors! Really great read with an awesome storyline and cast of charcters. There's Alessandro Benetti, the "businessman" who's really mafia and his PA, Lily Matthews, a disabled nerdy girl who doesn't take any crap. When Lily sees something she shouldn't see, Alessandro decides to kidnap her rather than kill her. In the end, the real questions are who set her up and is she going to be able to make it out of this with her heart. Loved Lily. She is feisty and kind and how she related to Pietro, Alessandro's son, makes you like her even more. Alessandro is super protective to those he loves and has just enough of the "tortured hero" to pull you in that much more. I do feel like there was a little bit of something missing from the story that made me not love it like Her Ruthless Warrior, maybe in the relationship development at the beginning, but I still really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. Loved seeing cameos from all our RG Angel "heroes" as well. Can't wait to see what's next with The Syndicates!
We already met the hero of this story in the previous book, and while I was intrigued by him, I didn't like him there at all... but here it's a completely different story. Alessandro Benetti is so bad for my health 🔥
I enjoyed this one it wasn't as good as book one but overall still a good time. It's a mafia romance but one that's on the lighter spectrum of dark so probably a good series for toe dippers. Tropes we have here, boss-employee, single-dad, age-gap (though this isn't hugely focused on or even really a plot point) I think he's 38 and she's 23. We also have some disability representation, lily has chronic pain and scars leftover from a previous car accident and Alessandro’s ten-year-old son has cerebral palsy.
Lily Mathews works for Alessandro Benetti as his personal assistant. He's the CEO of Datasole Corp and this is his legitimate business. Unbeknownst to her he is also the boss of the Chicago hand of the Famiglia, so mafia.
Lily is just an ordinary girl in the wrong place at the wrong time and when she witnesses something she shouldn't have Alessandro has little choice but to whisk her away for her safety, effectively kidnapping her. He takes her to his sanctuary a private island where his disabled son also resides just until he can figure out what to do with her and protect her from his higher-ups.
Here there bond deepens the underlying attraction that has been bubbling beneath the surface for the last eighteen months explodes further complicating things. Alessandro will also need to clean house as it becomes obvious there is a traitor in his organisation and he is determined to discover who.
This was an easy mostly uncomplicated read that I enjoyed. I loved the bond between Lily and Alessandro’s son and though Alessandro could be somewhat rude and an asshole underneath he has a good heart and is a loving father. There are some ups and downs a bit of miscommunication and a sweet and adorable HEA. Overall this was easy to consume and is well written. I also appreciated how the story's steam and romance were evenly balanced. This had just enough sexy times to satisfy but didn't overpower the central story. This one is for those that appreviate there mafia romance on the lighter side.w
This is a slow burn Love that matures and grows with hardship and acceptance And a considerate representation for physical disability
I loved How smart and strong Lily was -inside and out despite her "hindrance"
“I know. You’re his father, and it’s normal for you to want to help him, but he needs to try things, he needs to find his limit. He needs to see he’s much more capable than he thinks he is.”
And she gave the perfect explanation of why, us readers, love a morally Grey character
“You see, we are taught the distinction between good and evil, hero and villain, savior and captor, but what if the only difference is who is telling the story?
And Alessandro? I think I understand the need for "Age gap" Trope, Because if he is 38 and she is 24, the childish ways he was acting? He needed another 10 years to grow up 😅
Loved the two books Hope there is more
I just have one question WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DAMN FISH????
Oh did this story take so many twists! I lived for Lily and how fierce she is. Regardless of being viewed as disabled, she fights tooth and nail and doesn’t back down. Even when the mafia is breathing down her neck. Who knew Alessandro would have such a heart. After briefly meeting him in Her Ruthless Warrior, I was very intrigued by him. What we get is something so raw and emotional with him that he hides behind a mask to not show his weakness. The connection that these two have and build is just stunning no matter the circumstances. I think these mafia men met their match when it came to Lily as well. There is a lot to unpack that happens within these pages and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. The build of the relationship, the backstory and other things that occur between them. How Alessandro lays his claim on Lily. Just everything. It was a stunning story.
I usually find that I enjoy books by RGA because she writes good, original stories that can tug on the angst strings in a very deceptively casual way. But I guess I have been too spoilt by her epic Her Ruthless Warrior, so much that I could not love that 2nd instalment as much.
It was not a bad book and the comparison to Her Ruthless Warrior is probably unfair. The writing was good, the couple was somewhat sweet and some secondary characters complemented the story well. However, the romance between Lily and Alessandro, though charming, utterly lacked any real tension and edge. They just waded through their mild uncertainties and sedately met halfway each other. Adulting wise it made sense, but epic wise it flopped. I still enjoyed their HEA though (lovely epilogue).
The characterisation at times felt forced. I could not picture Alessandro as heartless; he felt more like a noble beta-ish white knight (and the way he bowed backward to his big boss drove that home even more). He was not the ruthless Alessandro I recalled from and was intrigued by in Her Ruthless Warrior. Nor did Lily really come across as a 'warrior', no matter how many times it was stated on page. I feel like her insecurities should have been dug into a little deeper for her to deserve that title.
Their interactions with little Pietro and the tragic backstory was great, but it did not elevate the romance. It read more like a parenting guide. I think it was a missed opportunity to not have exploited their clashes in the 18 months they were working together. I had such hope when reading the prologue, but instead the story jumped right to when Lily discovered about the real occupation of Alessandro. While reading I had the feeling the book was hastily written for publication and instead of digging into key plot elements, the story got diverted unnecessarily long into much of the same emotional roundabouts and some weak mafia background business (btw, I did not like Matteo at all).
Again, it was not fundamentally a bad book, but clearly not what I expected. However, I do see how a possible novella for Pietro would be interesting (I think exploiting the psychological angle of his childhood issues, his thirst to overcome his limits and the aftermath of what he saw happening to Lily would be great plot threads - all of which were not addressed in this book), as well as a book on a grown up Vicky. I definitely would read those and I trust that RGA can make them into great books.
P.S. It was lovely to get snippets from Hoka and Vi (Book 1) in this book, even though the timeline with Book 1 was at times fuzzy.

»Say you're mine.« »I'm yours.« »Say you'll stay with me forever, even in the darkness, because I'll keep you warm, I'll keep you safe.« »Forever, yes.«

❥ 𝑳𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝜗𝜚˚⋆ I really liked her. She is confident, caring and knows how to but Alessandro in his place.
❥ 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒐 ⋆✮ He is a hot asshole but I liked him. His love for Lily is real and he treats her like a queen.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This book was better and less toxic then the first one in this series. There is a lot of action and drama going down and some secrets were uncovered. It was a thrilling book and I had a lot of fun reading it. The plot was well thought out and I was glued to my kindle all evening. Lily and Alessandro are a force to be reckoned with. Both are stubborn and confident while having a soft side for the people they love. Lily suffered great pain in her past and it was heartwarming how she bonded with Alessandros son Pietro. I liked the fact she stood her ground against Alessandro. He himself is way less toxic then Hoka (from the first book) and I actually enjoyed their love story. Overall this was a very good and entertaining book.

i wanted to love this so much, but something just didn’t click with me! i never got to see their work relationship develop. it was like he kidnapped her and then two days later she said she was falling in love with him….. i would have liked to see their boss/assistant relationship since it’s talked about how much of an a-hole he is. and i know other reviews said there is no ow drama (and there isn’t) but i also didn’t love how it was mentioned that he had her send his mistresses break up gifts especially since she was only working for him for 18 months….. it just seemed pointless to mention since there was no ow drama. but i did love that he got upset that she wasn’t jealous 😂 it was never mentioned when the last time the H was with someone but it was hinted towards the h’s last time was her bf FOUR YEARS AGO. there was no safety talk, they just raw dogged the first time and he just made sure she wasn’t a virgin. he also said some very messed up things to her when he was upset and she folded so fast!
i loved how everyone gave him a hard time about being in love with the h though. mafia men can be funny 😂

“It’s Mr. Benetti to you,” I roared. “How dare you take liberties with Pietro. He is my son, it’s my family! You are not a part of it.” I snorted. “Is that what you want? To play the part of his mother and warm my bed? Are you so incapable of creating your own family that you need to borrow from others? You have no place in this story, no decision to make. He’s not your son, I’m not your husband. This is not your family. You want a family? A kid? Go find a pathetic loser, like your pathetic Andrew, and have him fuck a baby into you that you can mess up all you want! It’s not my fault nobody wants an opinionated, crippled, old shrew. Don’t start poisoning your way into our life.” I took a few heavy breaths, feeling like a bull staring at the red cloth.
Calling the mmc a loser would be an understatement tbh. No wonder his own Consigliere didn’t even take him serious and always talked to him like he was his servant. He threw the fmc’s disability in her face, even though he had a son who’s also disabled. He threw a glass pitcher on the floor and the broken shards landed on the fmc’s cheek and cut her. And in the next chapter, the fmc was certain she was in love with him😒
R.G. Angel is creating a deliciously dark world (The Syndicates) that I really want to be a part of, and man she's talented. Her Heartless Savior follows Lily, a heroine who is a girl after my own heart with her strength, and she refuses to give up despite the fact that she's gone through something that changed her life. She works for a growly bear boss, Alessandro, who little did she know who he really is (he's running the mafia in Chicago) until she comes face to face with it, and now her life is in danger of course. Thankfully, our growly bear, powerful mafia boss, has a big heart, so instead of killing her, he kidnaps her instead LOL! This is when she truly gets to know Alessandro, and there are sparks flying like crazy but it's complicated of course. It does get sexy, and lawd knows there are enough twists coming in hot to make my heart happy, but seriously, it's a real page turner that I couldn't put down to save my life, and I CANNOT WAIT for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Okay so I don’t even know where to start my review on this one because I feel like I can’t do it justice without spoilers and we ain’t about that life over here so imma give you my bullet points!
Secrets, lies & betrayal… oh my!
I have never had tears steam down my face as much as I did in this book!
These characters have immeasurable strength and perseverance! You will see what I mean when you dive in!
Alessandro is an OTT protective alpha that sometimes you want to throat punch and then ride him like the stallion he is.
Lily is sassy fierce and a true warrior whose mouth knows no bounds.
An ending that is truly *chefs kiss*
I’m closing I absolutely freaking loved this book from beginning to end!!!
Her Heartless Savior is such a power packed story from R.G.Angel. From a strong and complex heroine to a swoony and sinful antihero to deep emotions to sizzling hot slow burn chemistry to twisted beauty of a mafia romance. It really has it all.
When Lily Matthews forced her rightful wat into billionaire businessman Alessandro Bennetti's office as his assistant, she never thought one day her life will be in danger because of this man. He is actually the mafia boss of Chicago outfit and Lily has come to know some of his secrets. Alessandro has to keep her safe because she has claimed a part of his life. But will his heart stay safe? Or Lily's?
It was an interesting mix of mafia romance and workplace romance with grumpy- Sunshine trope. Lily is seen as weak by many due to her physical disadvantage after a tragic accident but she is extremely fierce and strong. Her willpower and stubbornness and sassy attitude brought a feared mafia boss to his knees. Now Alessandro is not typical mafia boss. He has a surprising softer side that is just too hard to handle. He has this love-hate thing going on with Lily..More on the love part. But of course like any alpha ahole heroes he doesn't know how to show that in a normal way. He would rather show is by pushing guys away from her life, trying to usurp all her time by excuse of work and being over protective and possessive by "kidnapping" her and hiding her in his sacred island. He would be stupid like alpha antiheroes to let her leave because he wants to save her from his dark world..while dying from heartbreak in a very manly way. Alessandro really owns my heart. And Lily is his perfect match but she has been hurt a lot and she is hesitant to go all in. But she also has a big heart that accepts Alessandro with his violent world, with all his imperfections and all his burdens. It was a delicious slow burn style story with periods of suspense and action, keeping it entertaining. Lily and Alessandro had such a witty swoony work relationship before everything went berserk..and they had to accept their hidden feels. This story was extremely well written with an intriguing plot. The balance of heat and heart was amazing.
4 1/2 stars I loved book one, Her Ruthless Warrior, and so eagerly started reading this second book—my eagerness was totally justified as this story is terrific.
Alessandro Benetti is one extremely intense man, that comes with the responsibility of being the head of the Chicago mafia but also because he has more on his plate. In the first book, most of the time I got the impression he was just plain ruthless until forced to give in a bit. But in this book we see an entirely different side altogether, one that I like much better too. I totally love how he has no control over his feelings for Lily.
Lily used to be a wallflower but is now a gutsy young woman, I love her sassy mouth and how she stands up for what and who she believes in. She has a strong moral compass that gets tricky being caught in the middle of a mafia web. After surviving a terrible trauma she truly knows what a battle entails. I particularly like how she stands up to Sandro, right from the beginning! Alessandro describes Lily as a warrior and that is the perfect description for her, a much quieter warrior than say Xena, but just as effective.
Oh darn, tears just rolled down my cheeks after reading a particular scene and I doubt anyone could read it and not react similarly! I’m not going to spoil things for other readers but I will say there is some deeply felt angst in this book that break your heart. The emotive writing is extremely powerful. However, to balance things, there is some excellent humour too. Whether it is sarcastic wit or fun banter between the characters, it brings a chuckle as you read.
There is an underlying mystery and suspense element that is terrific and the twists are great, I admit I predicted one but definitely not the reasons behind it. Then there’s the forced proximity and budding romance—that is another incredible part of the story that takes on a life of its own.
For me one of the key sentences in the book sums up things beautifully—“Family is made of love, truth, and compassion.” This is so powerful and reflects on how powerful this story is too.

Top de la serie 🥇Her Merciless Protector (KILLIAN TE AMO) 🥈Her Heartless Saviour 🥉Her Ruthless Warrior
This was another fantastic addition to what is turning out to be a very special series, one that is definitely a must read no matter your tastes. The only reason this wasn't a top read for me was because it took a bit to truly understand the male main character, and until I did he irked me quite a bit. The warriors within (not saying who, because spoilers) both more than made up for it though. This was so much more than 'just a mafia story'. You'll find yourself captivated from cover to cover, as the inspirational aspects suck you in. Can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.
This was truly a unputdownable Mafia romance story I devoured from beginning till end! This series is one of my favorites out there and this book was a nice addition to it I loved both characters but especially Lily her strength was so inspiring and Alessandro I was torn between wanting to punch him and kiss him but these two were perfect for each other this book was really good it’s emotional passionate heartbreaking my heart was pounding through out the whole story definitely another five star masterpiece from this author!
Alessandro hires the fiery Lily as his assistant. 18 months she has put up with his grumpiness and been his right hand in his business. When she sees something that she shouldn’t Alessandro has no choice but to take her to his private island to keep her safe. She must be proven not to be a threat to his business and his family. Lily is fiery and outspoken, she’s also in love with her boss even when she knows he’s a killer. When he takes her to his island that last thing she expected was to meet his 10 year old son and fall in love with the adorable little boy. Pietro is a little warrior and had my heart strings pulling. He is disabled but determined to not appear broken. Lily can sympathize with him since she has an injury that causes her debilitating pain physically and mentally.
I really loved Alessandro and Lily’s journey. He was a cold hearted man when it came to everyone but his son. He acts like an a$$ a few times toward Lily and hurts her with his words. He must grovel a bit to prove to her that he can be the man she deserves.
Action packed, twists and turns and a whole lot of electric banter that send sparks flying. It was good to see some of the characters from the first book of this series. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
